Crashing a lot and some minor bugs. Will update the score if they fix it. When it works it’s a great game.

Firstly, this is a really addictive game - a mix of exploration, tower defence, and panic; as you try to get your team and their precious cargo to the floor exit. You will die a lot but there are plenty of characters to unlock (with their own unique attributes) to keep you trying.

Unfortunately as you get towards the final floors, there appears to be a bug where you get chronic slowdown of the engine, and eventually a crash. It seems like it might relate to the number of enemies you have faced at that point? But i'm not sure...

I managed to finish one run, but lost a few more due to crashes. I initially believed this was a Switch issue (which aren't rare in ports!) but I have heard it happens on PS4 as well. It's a massive shame, and I wish there was a patch to rectify it. It would be one of my top three games on Switch if it worked.

More tower defense than roguelike dungeon-crawler, but very fun and thoroughly engaging.

As of version 1.1.7 the crashing issues appear to have been largely corrected, although I did experience one hard crash during my 15 hours of play - fortunately, auto-save allowed me to pick up almost right where I'd left off. Also, there's minor slowdown when many enemies are onscreen, but it's

If you like Into the Breach, FTL and Invisible Inc. you have to love this one. You manage the rooms you open and install modules to get resources and tower to defend of the enemies waves that appears in the dark rooms you can't illuminate. Very very fun and smart rogue like game. A must have. Expand

If it weren’t for some game breaking bugs I wouldn’t have imagined a better platform for this survival/tactical candy of a game than the Switch. [07/2020, p.73]

Dungeon of the Endless provides a nice mixture of tower defense, RPG and dungeon crawler strategy with a great gameplay experience. The game is challenging, unforgiving, and requires a player who is ready to fail in order to eventually succeed. Every choice can make or break your campaign, and the random dungeon generation provides variability in every attempt you make. It’s 8-bit graphic style provides a nice element to the game while keeping your attention on managing your resources and upgrading your heroes and equipment, which is where the game it at its strongest. The game’s creepy atmosphere and multiple play styles available make it an enjoyable experience worth experiencing on the Switch.

Dungeon of the Endless gives a bad first impression that hides an addictive, fun game. The poor tutorial and unclear mechanics might initially turn off some players, but if you're willing to push past that, Dungeon of the Endless is an enjoyable combination of dungeon-crawling and tower defense. While the Switch version may not have the best controls, its portability is a great combination for the game design, and even those who've played the PC version may want to give this one a shot.
