The mechanism of the game is interesting to me. It's like the board game "Carcassonne" but less competitive. I can only focus on building up a city I like and making it as big as possible.

What I would like to suggest is to create a sort of story mode that may motivate ppl more addicted to it.

Overall, it's the game I like.

A boring overhyped game. Not what i expected. You move tiles around, like in a puzzle game. There does not happen much else. I don't see the fun in it.

Dorfromantik challenges players to place hexagonal tiles containing a variety of terrain types (forests, villages, water etc) in order to create an idyllic landscape. Points are awarded for matching terrain types across tiles, and for creating areas of the same terrain type above a specified size.

Unusually for a game such as this there is no campaign or challenges of any type, instead

Unusually for a game such as this there is no campaign or challenges of any type, instead the only real aim is to try to beat your previous best score(s). Whilst this does help the game achieve the chill vibe it’s clearly aiming for, it does potentially reduce the playability for those who like a more focused experience.

I don't understand some of the negative reviews. The game is exactly what the developers advertise, a soothing puzzle game, with wholesome visuals. My go to game to chill out. I really like the Switch version to play on the couch or on the go.

It's an amazing game that proves just how much can be achieved with a simple but carefully tuned gameplay loop. I rested and thought about how long not to, and if you need to clear your head every now and then, I highly recommend it, especially on Switch where it's freshly released. [Issue#322]

An indie game as visually appealing as relaxing. It is also simple and addictive. You can not ask for more. It should be in the library of lovers of light board games.

Dorfromanik succeed in nearly all it sets out to do – delivering a fun, relaxing and addictive gameplay loop that’s perfectly suited for the Switch. If you want a game that’s easy to pick up and play in and play in between this holiday’s bigger release, Dorfromanik is just the ticket.
