Well maybe permadeath is just not for me (darkest dungeon was beginning to make me feel different) and hard game as well : after dying the first night, dying the first hounds, dying collecting flowers and becoming insane, dying the first winter, dying at the first deerclops (and this last death without the feeling of learning something), I'm feeling a bit bored of starting again and again.Well maybe permadeath is just not for me (darkest dungeon was beginning to make me feel different) and hard game as well : after dying the first night, dying the first hounds, dying collecting flowers and becoming insane, dying the first winter, dying at the first deerclops (and this last death without the feeling of learning something), I'm feeling a bit bored of starting again and again. There is no guidance within the game and it's easy to feel lost. I think I will flee games where hard is emphasis a bit from now on, because frustration is more present than pleasure. Especially true when you want to play easy and portable mode. Expand

The game is hard to be sure, but I love all the things there are to discover. Each play through teaches the player new things making you more likely to survive longer the next time around. I love the gameplay but I love the art design even more. If you like survival games I highly recommend this

Great game! Depending on the time of day we will appear some monsters or others. You have to be careful at night since the game is very difficult! I also played in the iOS and Android version, but I definitely prefer the Switch version.

This is a really great game, full of content to explore. I've already on pc and bought for the switch too. This version is currently UNPLAYABLE. There are TONS of bugs and glitch. They are really too much to makes this game playable. The map that cover itself and the season change bug are only a few. I'll update this review and my vote when and if the switch version will get an update because right now i cannot reccommend to buy this game. The disappointing thing is that 90% of this bugs where already found and solved on other console versions. This demonstrate how little effort on testing has been done on the switch version before putting it on the market. If they had played this version for 3 hours they would knew that it was not possible to play it.

Do your self a favour and get the PC version. Avoid like the plague this version at least for now.

nb 1.0.1 is live and has not correct anyone of those major bugs that make the game unplayable. Still impossible to make a good adventure.

Ok 1 month later there is out a patch which fix all major bugs. This ia solid 8/10.

It will not hold your hand but that is what it is all about. Graphics are cute but don’t let it fool you! It is a really hard and unforgiving game.

If Tim Burton married Stardew Valley and Minecraft, you'd get this game. It is a tough as nails top-down survival game where you stop at nothing to stay alive, you kill prey, collect faeces, chop trees, mine rocks, make friends with pigs, craft tools, and create machines all while looking at a beautifully crafted environment with an eye-catching art style made up of a dark colour paletteIf Tim Burton married Stardew Valley and Minecraft, you'd get this game. This game is brutal and punishing but incredibly addictive; it will not hold your hand, once the beginning cut scene ends, you're on your own. I recommend this for anyone looking for a tough survival game on the switch with addictive gameplay and cleverly designed mechanics. Expand

Don't Starve is simply an amazing survival game no matter how you put it. The gameplay in this game is great. It takes a load of strategy and skill to make it through the night. You have to manage your resources and surroundings to get as much as possible. If there's a pig village around you, reserve some food, give them to the pigs, and get manure. This game's art style looks great. I love the industrial/cartoony vibes coming from this game. This game's dialogue is also pretty great. The characters got a few chuckles outta me. Perhaps my favorite thing about this game is the amount of options there are while creating your island. The island can be large, exclude pig heads, have more spiders, etc. The generation of the islands is in your hands. If I had a complaint, it's that the night gets pretty darn boring. Most of the time, you sorta just sit there doing nothing. In conclusion, Don't Starve is a stellar survival game that everybody should try at least one time. Have a lovely day/night, folks! Expand

One of the best survival games out there now in the palm of your hand. If you've never played Don't Starve, watch a few youtube videos and I guarantee it will draw you in. Plays perfectly on the Switch, features two major dlc packs. Charming, challenging and brings out the survivalist in you.

Неиграбильно, сплошные баги и фризы, слишком сильно отличается от остальных своих версий

If the little bug gets fixed, it's perfect.
It's good that you can choose the way you want to survive
It may be difficult for Newbie, but if you play often, you can do well.

I found only 1 global minus: in the RoG add-on (Reign of Giants) and Shipwrecked: season bosses are broken, in RoG they can growl but not come (they won't come anyway), and in Shipwrecked they will come but break and stand still and don't respond to anything. The visual style works brilliantly on the Switch in both handheld and docked. The bold outlines are eye-catching and the muted colour palette lends the game a sense of mystery. Having the full experience of Don’t Starve on the move is wonderful and the day/night cycle is just the right length to hop on and play during a break in your real life. As survival games go, this is one of the best you will find for the Switch.

Don’t Starve: Nintendo Switch Edition is an extremely meaty and punishing experience that always keeps you on your toes. The open ended, tough as nails gameplay isn’t for everyone - particularly in its repetition - but it can be quite addictive once things click. A distinct visual style, countless hours of randomized gameplay, and an open ended nature that favors boldness combine to make this an easy suggestion.

A good conversion overall, but it suffers from the direct comparison with the Mega Pack version of the contemporary release, mainly due to the absence of the multiplayer expansion Do not Starve Together.
