Out of the 3 Cave games released by Live Wire so far, this is probably my least favourite.

While you get a ton of lives in the form of bombs when you get hit, bullets come at you so thick and fast that most of the time when dying you don't even know what hit you. With Espgaluda 2 and Mushihimesama, the bullet arrangements are dense, but when I get hit, I always feel it is down to my own

That said, any Cave game is still way better than 90% of other shmups out there and for the price it is still fantastic.

Just be prepared to loose a lot of lives if you don't have cat like reactions.

Another solid game port. When people want to try a CAVE game, they always ask which of these 3 they should get. You're not going to be disappointed with any of them. DDPR is the most straightforward one, but it does have secret bosses and secret endings you can get by collecting all or most of the bee token. Just a very polished shmup with many modes and difficulties, sadly no online leaderboard.

DoDonPachi Resurrectiuon is another brilliantly packaged Cave classic on Switch. Bullet hell is bullet heaven.

DoDonPachi Resurrection is the kind of experience that fully represents what the series and its developer are all about. This Switch release is complete as it contains an excellent port of the main game and several other variations that feel like entirely different games. In short, you are given a lot of choice and customization. If you own a Switch, then you cannot go wrong with adding this game to your collection.

Resurrection is arguably one of the best of its genre even after all these years and a lot of competition (plenty of it coming from developer Cave themselves). It’s relentlessly challenging, breathlessly inventive and exhilarating to play; an essential purchase for confirmed shmup fans. But it’s also one that needs you to do a lot of homework to get anything meaningful out of it.
