    While a range of convoluted upgrades and currencies add more hurdles than just the ones out on the racetrack, Disney Speedstorm is a dynamic, engaging kart racer at its core, with carefully re-imagined characters that will encourage fans to go the distance.

    Disney takes advantage of its legacy of 100 years of animation now with a racing game proposal that brings together everyone's favorite characters in settings representing their classic movies and is accompanied by an incredible soundtrack with remixes that will fill you with nostalgia. However, its poor performance on Nintendo Switch and the existence of so many currencies will need to be clarified for users, making this game hard to recommend.

    Disney Speedstorm delivers solid karting action with fantastic handling and clearly spends a lot of care and attention on its characters and courses. Its performance on Switch lets it down, though, especially on handheld where it's a blurry, stuttery mess, and those not interested in the live service setup will struggle to get along with it.

    As a fan of all things Disney (except the modern-day remakes, those can burn) Disney Speedstorm is an exciting idea, a chance to reacquaint myself with the worlds and characters that defined by childhood in kart form. While the game certainly delivers on the nostalgia and its racing proves enjoyable, sadly the free-to-play wrapping (it’s worth noting this game isn’t free currently) lets the package down resulting in a grindy structure that irks more than engages the player.

    Disney Speedstorm in its current state on Nintendo Switch is a great kart racer held back by confusing in-game monetization. I’ve enjoyed playing Disney Speedstorm online with friends and randoms on both platforms, but Gameloft needs to do a better job with how unlocks and progression works for those unfamiliar with free to play mobile games. There’s a lot of potential here and there’s definitely fun to be had even in the early access release, but I was hoping for more. [Early Access Provisional Score = 70]

    Das Spiel an sich ist sehr umfangreich. Es macht auch soweit echt Spass.

    Aber man hat das Gefühl das schon etliche cheater unterwegs sind. Spieler haben am Start schon Spezialfertigkeiten zur Verfügung. Oder bewegen sich durch die uhrfertigkeit schnell vor.


    Ständig bleibt man an Zäune oder Hindernisse hängen. Keine taste zum Zurücksetzen. Dadurch hat man dann kaum noch Chancen. Einiges ist echt Verbesserungswürdig. Außer man nutzt Cheats und kann sich schneller fortbewegen. Es ist echt merkwürdig so langsam.    … Expand
