If you want to kill an hour with a serviceable mystery game, Doctor Dolittle could be up your alley. While it does serve up a nice pixel art style and an admittedly charming premise, it botches the execution with its terrible translation and simplistic logic.

Do not let the adorable art fool you! The translation is so atrocious it made the game unplayable.

This is aI found this game on the Nintendo Eshop for a very cheap price, and for what I paid, I would say I definitely got my money's worth. This is a very short game, maybe an hour and a half to two hours if one takes their time. The pixel art and the few illustrated pieces of art were all fantastic, and I did enjoy the idea of being someone able to talk to animals and using that to solve mysteries, even if it's just "who stole my cake?". There were a couple turns in the story, with only a few flaws regarding details that are kept hidden until a point where the protagonist remembers something that wasn't mentioned until then (like a certain item being in a spot cause he put it there). The translation could use some polish, but it was done well enough that I wasn't lost as to what was going on. Overall, I don't regret my purchase, and I hope this creator maybe expands on this idea some day and is able to bring on some help to make it even better. Full Review »
