    The core gameplay is fun, but the port on the switch is really bad. The game runs below 30fps throughout the entire game and never reaches 30. You can see and feel the choppiness.

    There's also the gyro aiming which is okay, but not the best it could be. There is some deadzone, which is not ideal it. Ideally, you would want the gyro to detect the slightest bit of movement for the most

    Related to that, there are no options for vibrations at all. Not even a toggle to turn it off or on. and the strength of it is enough to mess with my aiming when using gyro aiming.

    The switch port is a mess and I would recommend it else where. I have no idea why it runs so terribly on the switch. Graphically more intense games run better on the system. If you want gyro aiming, play it on pc and use 3rd party software to have gyro aiming. Use a ps4, ps5 or switch pro controller. Might I recommend steam input. It saves to each game and it's the more user friendly gyro aiming software out of the other options

    Having originally checked it out at PAX East last year, Cyber Hook was a title I was pretty eagerly waiting to see in its final form. A neon-lit parkour title with a mix of running, jumping, some shooting, grappling, and a fair amount of crashing and burning it’s just a very different experience altogether. I’m happy to see that the final product does seem more polished and diverse in itsHaving originally checked it out at PAX East last year, Cyber Hook was a title I was pretty eagerly waiting to see in its final form. A neon-lit parkour title with a mix of running, jumping, some shooting, grappling, and a fair amount of crashing and burning it’s just a very different experience altogether. I’m happy to see that the final product does seem more polished and diverse in its level designs, though that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t have an occasional rough edge you’ll encounter. The main thing I love about it is the almost Spider-Man like flow you’ll need to get into in order to sling yourself around the course. Now, getting to the point where you can execute that can take some work, execution is everything and jumping from your grapple line can be tricky to get the hang of pulling off consistently… but when it clicks it can be very satisfying. While the likes of speedrunners will, no doubt, hone their runs to perfection what I enjoy most is the improv of it all. Your plan will tend to go south quickly and often and the fun is in recovering and pulling it off anyway, in many ways reminding me of the same sort of thrill I got from the under-rated ClusterTruck. This won’t be a game that will work for everyone, but it’s different, challenging, plays well in quick bursts, and can be just as entertaining, if not more, when runs go wrong as when they go right.

    It’s certainly fun to move so quickly, and with a few tweaks I feel like this could have been a great game, but as it stands, it’s not quite all there.

    For a game based on maintaining your momentum, it's disappointing that Cyber Hook wears thin after playing it for only a short while. That being said, some gamers who enjoy re-playing levels repeatedly to outdo their previous efforts might enjoy it.

    Cyber Hook uses its mechanics to provide a fast-paced and compelling speed-running experience. However, the balance of difficulty doesn’t work in execution as frustrating requirements lead to shorter play sessions. Still, this Switch version manages to offer a high level of enjoyment thanks to responsive controls and the addictive drive to clear challenges that are just out of reach. It’s a good thing you’re equipped with a hook.
