    Vampires!!!!

    Cross The Moon is a dark and adult level visual novel which resides around Vampires that live among regular humans. You may have seen some movies like this where Vampires exist and live life free with government provided blood capsules etc. The game is set in the fictional city L’Amour and country of Armorica where you play as three characters - Lux Amantie and his    Vampires!!!!

    Cross The Moon is a dark and adult level visual novel which resides around Vampires that live among regular humans. You may have seen some movies like this where Vampires exist and live life free with government provided blood capsules etc.

    The game is set in the fictional city L’Amour and country of Armorica where you play as three characters - Lux Amantie and his sister Aurore and the third being a female Japanese detective Ryouko Otsuki.

    The three characters have their own story which is seamless intervened between them all for the main plot of the game which is a Murder story. The visual style of this game is dark and seedy with monochromatic cartoon style drawings of the characters which are overlaid over realistic backgrounds.

    The soundtrack of the game can be a little over the top and I had to turn it down in some cases as it started to drive me nuts. I haven't played a visual novel game as dark as this before, most of the ones that I have played have either been relationship ones through to comic book style ones with mini games etc.

    It was a nice change to play one like this, there is a lot of reading however with over 100,000 words which would leave this game running for 6-10 hours. After the first hour of so, I started to get hooked and it felt like we were going deeper and deeper into the story.

    Overall if your into these types of game then this one is a must!

    If you’re a fan of visual novels and vampires, but not necessarily of being given choices to make, Cross the Moon may pull you in. Set in a world where humans and vampires are at least making an attempt at co-existence, and set up to give you a sense of foreboding dread, it at least does a solid job of setting the stage for intrigue to keep you reading. From there it will be a matter ofIf you’re a fan of visual novels and vampires, but not necessarily of being given choices to make, Cross the Moon may pull you in. Set in a world where humans and vampires are at least making an attempt at co-existence, and set up to give you a sense of foreboding dread, it at least does a solid job of setting the stage for intrigue to keep you reading. From there it will be a matter of whether the handful of characters and their motivations and interactions are appealing to you. Myself, I tend to struggle when there’s really no opportunity for choice in how things proceed, but if you don’t mind just working through a story in digital form the setting and themes may suck you in.

    With no alternative endings (again, there are no decisions to make, so no way to split off the narrative), it’s one-and-done with the visual novel Cross the Moon. But it’s priced accordingly, and should be an interesting read for fans of mysteries and the supernatural.

    The biggest problem Cross The Moon will face is getting people to pick it up. "A game aligned with French New Wave values and auteur theory with a surrealistic noir narrative and art photography aesthetics" is hardly a bullet point that a PR or marketing agent would want to try selling. I actually was given a copy on PC back when it released last year and put it aside because it was just too esoteric to immediately grab my attention. It's just too easy to find something "safer" to play than something that looks like it could very easily turn out to be trite. I'm glad that, on a whim, I purchased and gave it a go on Nintendo Switch, because once you give it a go, it rewards the risk you took on playing it. Cross The Moon has a lot going on and all of it is quite brilliant.
