    Conarium is a short experience — I finished it in around three hours — but I’ll happily take quality over quantity. Despite finding fault in a few certain places, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Conarium and was happy to finally find a title that faithfully scratches that Lovecraft itch.

    If you go into this game expecting horror and mind-blowing puzzles, you’ll be disappointed. However, the storyline and the artwork justifies the purpose of the game, especially if you actually understand the story *cough* unlike me *cough*. If anything, I’ll at least be picking up a Lovecraft book from my local library so I can fake it better next time.

    Conarium isn’t a bad effort at adapting one of Lovecraft’s stories, but simply isn’t dark enough to match up to its inspirations – it too often ends up feeling like The Room, but with inferior puzzles.

    I have to admit I have been on a Lovecraftian kick this year having played The Sinking City, Call of Cthulhu and The Darkest Dungeon with TheI have to admit I have been on a Lovecraftian kick this year having played The Sinking City, Call of Cthulhu and The Darkest Dungeon with The Innsmouth Case up next. When the game started I was quite worried since the company and engine logos were lagging but once the game started there were no technical issues other than few textures loading up when you bring up a save, but it doesn't last long.
    The story has you playing an explorer waking up with most of your recent memories gone. So you must investigate the Antarctica base where things went south in the wrong way.
    Gameplay wise Conarium is a first person adventure game. You will be walking around looking for keys to fit locks, but thankfully the keys and locks make a lot of sense compared to some adventure game logic. The game lasts about 5 hour with many things to find and a few different endings.
