Apr 12, 2023You should absolutely play this engrossing atmospheric sci-fi game, especially if you’ve finished Disco Elysium and want a similar experience. And yet this title has a look and feel entirely its own – rewarding gamers who love slow burns and rich prose. The ending was an emotional gut-punch for me, despite creaky late-game storytelling.

Apr 29, 2023A narrative gem and an absolute must play, with two free DLCs which brings several hours more of story and gameplay. Might be a bit hard to handle the "rolling dices" system at first but the game is absolutely worthy of your time.

Oct 3, 2023Citizen Sleeper marks an unusual arrival on the Nintendo Switch of an RPG inspired by board games, and it does a very good job at creating a somber and dystopian atmosphere with matching audiovisual qualities, while delivering enveloping parallel plot lines. Its short length, however, and a certain lack of gameplay mechanics that truly stand out, mean that Citizen Sleeper's appeal will be limited to players who are not part of its main target audience.

May 26, 2022Overall, Citizen Sleeper is a fantastic game, with many quirky characters to meet and interesting stories to get engrossed in. If you are into tabletop RPGs and are looking for an easy-to-play substitute, this is the game for you.

May 26, 2022Citizen Sleeper allows for multiple playthroughs, and even when looking through screenshots during my review there are characters and locations I never once encountered within my first playthrough. Because of the heavy story-driven nature of Citizen Sleeper, your enjoyment will be contingent on your appreciation of the sci-fi genre as well as how much brain space is occupied by thoughts of Turing Tests. While that itself will denote that Citizen Sleeper isn’t for everyone, for those that have even a slight interest in the genre, you don’t want to sleep on this one.
