    Was a big fan of Remnant. Was hoping this would be good too but boy was I wrong.

    Dark souls had it right. At least there you can dodge the attacks. Here you’re guaranteed to get hit no matter what you do. The camera angles on the first boss make him really hard to fight. You just get hooked on him and he knees you to death in a corner. Cant guard, can’t roll away, nothing. Can’t read    Was a big fan of Remnant. Was hoping this would be good too but boy was I wrong.

    Can’t read Jack on the computer screens when I have to deal with those in game either. It looks like a muddy mess.

    Yes, this game has some performance issues, like framerate droping. It is also slow paced, I would say very slow paced - something like Lords of the fallen was.
    Despite that this game is really great, it has it's own vibe (just like Remnant had). I really loved the puzzles which are very close to my favourite Point and click games. There are few moments when it's very fairy tale-ish, and    Yes, this game has some performance issues, like framerate droping.     Even if it's slow, the combat is great and intense.

    Hardcore Souls-fans are gonna hate this. Truth be told, its exactly what it looks like--budget Dark Souls (for the most part). However, this does have a few mechanics to separate itself. Most notably that dying gives you the chance to improve your abilities and magic. I would do a pros and cons, but it depends on how you view the game. I am not a Souls fan, but the genre is unavoidable atHardcore Souls-fans are gonna hate this. Truth be told, its exactly what it looks like--budget Dark Souls (for the most part). Yes its short, but I honestly prefer that. The first level of the game is awful. Its cramped, slow, and makes little sense. The first boss of the game nearly made me quit because I kept getting stuck and the camera kept getting me killed, but I stuck with it and have found more enjoyment in following levels.

    The game suffers from many framerate issues which is shocking because this game is very small, linear, and minimal. Shouldn't be that hard to be locked at 30 fps. This game is probably more of a 5-6, but for me its a 7 because its just enough Souls for me to play on the go without going full Souls. I like the short length, linear gameplay, and accessibility. Most Souls fans should probably steer clear though.    … Expand

    While performance and visual downgrades make it difficult to recommend the Switch version, Chronos: Before the Ashes is an intriguing and enjoyable rework of a once VR-exclusive title. Its unique ageing mechanic makes it worth looking into for souls fans.

    Chronos: Before the Ashes is a mostly successful attempt at making a more accessible roguelike that does not compromise its challenge too much. Its experience mechanic is a very welcome idea and something that has a lot of potential to be improved in future releases, but technical issues affecting its visual performance make this more difficult to enjoy on the Switch screen, and as such there's many players who might feel behind on what the game has to offer.

    A decent adventure title which, despite its slow pace, just barely manages to earn its keep with combat, puzzle and exploration gameplay. It doesn’t live up to its predecessor, but it doesn’t seem like it’s trying to.
