I am a die hard Bratz fan, and recently there’s been a surge of Bratz craze- I really thought given this, the game would have so much more going on. I wouldn’t mind the story line finishing quickly if there was more gameplay after, I.e. customising apartments, looking after pets etc but there’s nothing- now that the storyline has finished the game has no use.

The levels seemed so rushed, and bits that could have so easily been interactive just weren’t? You can’t design anything despite a huge part of the storyline being about designing. I’m sad that this game had so much potential and did not deliver. I spent months counting down the days until its release and I feel so disappointed.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have to say there’s not too much to brag about. $60AUD on the Nintendo store and $70AUD for physical copy. This is what to expect:

    - The graphics aren’t great; it looks unfinished, grainy and a lot of things don’t add up.
    - Makeup stations that are subpar; unlike old games, you can’t apply makeup yourself, it’s automatically applied. When you select a colour, what you see is NOT what you get at all. The eyeshadows don’t blend well they look like two seperate items on the face. The makeup you choose has been designed for certain bratz members and not for all, with a white cast on some of the blushes. - SHORT GAME!!!!; I was able to complete the game within three nights. This was me sitting down for a few short hours each night and playing. I collected all clothing items, all boxes, all things to play.
    - no after game play; once you’re done, you’re done. There are no options to unlock mini games or free roam world after you are done.
    - No difficulty modes; once a character gives you a task or mission, the camera automatically pans to where the person you need to find is. There is an option to skip if you please but if you don’t, the game tells you where to go and what to do.
    - Lack of story; small story line but nothing to grip onto. Just gives you a different place to do the same tasks you did at the other locations.

All in all, I’m ashamed to say I paid $60 for this game. I was really looking forward to it because I’ve played the old bratz games and it’s a throwback but this is not what I expect. The above information was only a bite size of what’s wrong with the game, it’s really not good enough for the price when comparing to other switch games that serve you for months, some even years.

What a disappointment. I got about 4-5 hours of gameplay out of this game which for £35 GBP is atrocious. The whole game lacked any variety, you can’t switch between the girls freely like on the older games, once you’ve picked one you’re stuck with her, there’s 3 locations and you complete each one very quickly, then you go to the next one and do the same stuff there.

The mall was a joke, only 1-2 shops you can actually go inside, the others are all boarded up with closure signs?! Make-up was also a big disappointment, you can just put it on like clothes but you cant customise or do your own designs like the older games. The clothes selection is insanely limited again comparing to older games. It all felt like a free mobile app game, incredibly limited and while I wasn’t expecting it to be identical to the older games, it makes no sense to take so many steps back to make it worse rather than better. Technology has improved massively since the older games, so this had so much potential and it is totally unacceptable quality. It honestly feels like a money grab. Hardly any effort went into this game and it shows, but it costs £35gbp. Madness. I would recommend not buying this game unless it gets reduced to £5 - there’s just not enough gameplay to justify spending anymore than that. This game plays like it was targeted at 3-5 year olds, it is so so basic with no customisation options, and if you’re looking for nostalgia you will be let down. In my opinion it should’ve been targeted towards teens and young adults who have memories of Bratz older games.

First, with loading in you have to wait a long time, or press A to make the screen into the actual game (It does not show instruction to do so). Second, when trying on the jacket it freezes and doesn't give options, and you have to restart the game several times in order to put it on and move to the next task. Lastly(or the last bug I was able to get to), when fixing the hair it automatically freezes and you are unable to play past that point. Maybe it's just a certain version of the Switch, but I have seen several reviews on different platforms like my own. In conclusion it's really not what I expected, and it's not worth $30 USD because that money could've been spent on something better and not a crappy game, which I did not expect as it was advertised to be really well. I just think it was way too rushed. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My recommendation is do not buy this game, it is not the same as our childhood games. This game is short and not worth the amount of money they are wanting. This could be a app with how small it is and how short the story line is. I would suggest if you still want it to wait a few months for the price to plummet because it will because the game is trash and short. If you buy it you can finish the game in a consecutive 5 hours of gaming. Have all the clothes and side quests done. I don’t know who their target audience was but it wasn’t be and it wasn’t my 10 year old sister that said this is worse then Barbie dream house app. If you really want a Bratz game get your childhood Bratz game and replay it. I am going to buy a Wii and replay mine so I feel satisfied. Expand
