Bomber Crew can be a very hectic strategy sim where prioritizing is key as the game tries to split your attention too thin. The initial learning curve, once you're done with the tutorials, is steep. I'm sure you'll ask yourself as your plane explodes and your crew dies "how the heck was I supposed to do all that!" However, if you persist it does get easier.

First of all, as time goes on, the controls will feel more natural. The game does seem to want you to have a mouse, but after awhile, I was able to wrap my head around the controls. Now, it's second nature for me.

Also, you'll be able to afford upgrades that will not only increase the firepower and survivability of your plane and crew, but also take some of the tasks off of your hands. An example of this is turrets with ammo feeds. Your crew members will also gain skills (with cool downs) that will help, such as auto-tagging fighters.

Finally, you'll just understand what the game is asking of you. You'll understand how to best prioritize the tasks. You'll figure out how to use your navigator and flight altitude to minimize risk.

Honestly, I really like this game. I’m glad I got over the initial impression that Bomber Crew felt impossible…and being able to play it on-the-go with the Switch is always awesome.

Great game. Ideal for Switch when you just want to play a few missions and you do not want to get into a heavy story game. I give it a 9 because it was inexpensive and fun to play.

A really nice game with great mechanics and good controls. Possibly one of the best indie games on switch.

Bomber Crew isn't for everyone, as I noted it's not for the easily frustrated, but if you're willing to deal with its quirks, interface issues, and a few questionable design choices, there's a unique and enjoyable rogue-like bomber game at Bomber Crew's core. The game seems to be suited best for its PC origins, so if you have a Steam account consider getting the game there before going for the Switch version.

Bomber Crew is increasingly difficult and often frustrating, but it has bags of charm and completely suits the Switch. Playing portably is a great way to experience the game; it looks lovely and contains some wonderful nuances within the sound and features. I loved the little homing pigeon, decaling my plane with garish pictures of Yoshi and solving problems, if only there weren’t so many problems to solve at the same time.

An amazing accomplishment for a team of just two people. It’s an enjoyable, well thought out, and immersive little game that will scratch most people’s micromanagement itches. Having mouse control on a PC version might be advantageous, and therefore the way to go with a potential purchase, but the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch means you can take your crew everywhere you go. Win-win.
