    One of the surprise redux hits in this generation has been the return of the Blaster Master series with the Zero titles, which have managed to carefully respect the essence of the original game while fleshing elements that were less notable out further. Considering the very reasonable price point, this is a pretty great retro action adventure with varied challenges… though also maybe feeling a little redundant in terms of play at this point. However, this title completes a sort of trilogy story arc in a satisfying fashion if you’ve been following the previous two titles, and continues to ramp up the relative level of difficulty from the other two titles as well. But for people new to the series it may be more ideal to go back to the first, see how it goes, and then work from there rather than jumping in on this last chapter since otherwise you may be a little lost in terms of the story and mechanics that are a bit taken for granted as understood at this point.

    I liked the sex scene at the end. Also yeah the gameplay is awesome as to be expected, Best in the series so far.

    Without the context of what came before it, the mechanics will likely come off as overly complicated, and the story would lose most if not all of its meaning. Once you've played its prequels though, Blaster Master Zero 3 stands as one of the most well- made games of its kind, and delivers the promised conclusion that the series deserves.     Blaster Master Zero 3 heavily expects its audience to have played the first two titles in the modern Blaster Master series, so it's hard not to bring them up when writing about the former. Small localisation errors and a couple of obtuse navigation moments aside, it is the most polished title in the series and long-time fans, plus people who grew up with the NES, will appreciate the added challenge. It's never too hard to tackle, however, although it's commitment to being "retro" can be a double-edged sword in some instances, like when a death can be blamed on unintentionally sticking to a wall and then sliding down into an abyss. The gameplay loop is just as fun as it ever was, though, so more of that can't ever be a bad thing. It might get ignored for being the third instalment, or not seeming as fresh as the next retro indie darling that's hot for this week, but it really shouldn't be. This is bona fide retro goodness at its finest. Blaster Master 4Ever!

    The third game is the conclusion that the Blaster Master Zero series was deserving, since it doesn't have an inventive way to be iterated anymore without losing its identity.
