    As one of my favourite Switch games it's fantastic to be getting these new characters which really change the style and feel of the gameplay. It makes the game feel like new again as you work out the best weapons and techniques of the new character.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Spoilers in first paragraph! I've played through the entire game normally, on challenge mode, on the zero mode, as shovel knight, as the fairy girl, and as shantae. The story mode doesn't make as much since with shantae, so I can't give it a perfect score.

    I liked using shantae, her abilities add a completely unique twist onto the gameplay, and fighting bosses becomes much more enjoyable. I liked shantae more than every other character I've played as. I also feel like it is different gameplay, and in turn a different game.

    If you expect a new story, sorry, it's same as Jason's story.    … Expand
