Also I'm very happy to tell you that this is a good port of the games. Switch runs Bioshock at a solid 1080p 30fps. The graphical fidelity is much closer to the PS4 version than the original PS3 version. At some points (for example with certain fire effects) it looked like there were compression artifacts but otherwise tje image was very clean.
A few minor issues that Switch owners should know is that there is no gyro support, some text and hud elements being quite small in handheld mode (as these games were originally developed for home consoles) and that all games require additional downloads as only parts of every game have been stored on the cartridge.
Overall this is a quality port of a quality game but the developers didn't go the extra mile to consider Switch specific features.

I had only played the third game before the first two so I didn't get it when I played it. When I bought the Nintendo Switch version, collecting all three, I was hooked on the first two games. It's so deceptively simple and brilliant in its storytelling, as this really changed the way subtlety was used in games. It gave rise to the first Last of Us's storytelling. It's so deceptively simple and brilliant in its storytelling, as this really changed the way subtlety was used in games. It gave rise to the first Last of Us's storytelling. What amazed me is that when you play in the dark, it's almost similar to Metro Exodus on switch. It's that beautiful. I hope they make more Bioshock games, but if they made them every year, it would ruin the charm. We all saw what happened to Call of Duty, but Bioshock couldn't afford to go that route. Some games must have time and care put into them, and while there is some graphical difference, it meshes very well. The stories are top notch. The FPS shooters to date are Doom 2016 and Eternal, Wolfenstein, Bioshock, and the Metro series. I would recommend these as the FPS to play, and Bioshock earns its place easily with subtle and demented story telling and action driven by horror set themes. Infinite is a departure as it was trying to retell the story all over again, but it does have potential, and it even stands on its own if they needed to retell the story again. Expand

Excellent port, stands with other great ports such as Witcher 3 and Dark Souls Remastered. The game did crash on one occasion where there was too much going on. All in all, an excellent collection and port. Just try to nab it on a discount.

This is the reason I bought a switch, good ports of great third party games. Amazing work by 2k, seriously impressive to get this working well on such weak hardware. Arguably the best collection of the year on the Nintendo Switch. Strong art design, audio and gameplay has helped keep these titles exciting almost a decade after their releases and this particular port of Bioshock: The Collection for Nintendo's handheld hybrid shines brightest as a tech achievement on the go. If you love video games and FPS this title is a must own.

The first Bioshock manages to capture a great atmosphere and establishes the excellent setting of Rapture.

Bioshock 2 is certainly less inspired than its predecessor but has more action packed combat and is still a great game. Minnerva's Den, the DLC for Bioshock 2 has an amazing story and an ending that I absolutely loved.

Infinite is the newest of the games and takes the action to a new, superbly crafted setting called Columbia. This too has a great narrative. It's DLC, Burial at Sea, is split into two episodes - the first is very short and I found it's gameplay to suffer a little due to how scarce bullets seemed, but it had a really nice twist ending. The second episode is fantastic, focusing on fun stealth gameplay and having a beautiful ending that ties the series together.

The stories really are brilliant in these games, and the music deserves a mention too, fitting the period and helping set the tone. All of the games run well and look good on Switch, and although I ran into a bug in Infinite, reloading a save fixed it. I wish the games were fully on the physical cartridge, and I would've liked to be able to use gyro aiming, but other than that the Switch ports are as good as I hoped - these are some amazing games running great on Switch.

One of the best ports on the switch for three of the best games ever made. This is up there with Doom 2016 for best multiplat game on Switch. A great game that I just hated to play. The themes are so grim and the violent world just wore me down after a while. It’s a murderer simulation disguised as a secret plot to save the world. It just wore me the f**k down.

I was waiting to play Bioshock someday, and this was my chance. What a great collection of amazing games! They all run perfectly and I didn't had any issue while playing, it's a blessing to have these games in a hanheld console running this good! Gameplay is great on all three games, the story is excellent(Maybe not so much on Bioshock 2). I had a good time playing them!

This baby is gaming at its best. Bioshock as series is very satisfying experience. There is tons of atmosphere. I remember being scared as I first experienced the feeling of being alone in a dead city.
Such an interesting story , exciting gameplay and the series invents different game mechanics as series goes on but honestly after finishing it all I feel like its one big awesome game.

I love bioshock. Have loved all the 3 games and played them before on ps3 and ps4. And I played them again in the switch and just enjoyed it. Playing the game in portable mode is amazing. I didn’t see any noticeable performance hitches. If you like bioshock and want to play the games on the go, definitely get this collection. It’s $20 right now!

Man, what a great port of some of the best shooters of all time. Everything looks so nice and sharp. Bioshock 3 being the one that looks a step up from the 1st 2 but not taking anything from either ones. Only issue i have is that some reason it took me a bit to master the controls mainly the 1st. The worst port ever. The games have too small letters. You can't use a gyroscope for aiming at the enemies. The support team from 2K is arrogant.
I also bought the game on the iPad. The game works on the old iOS only and then the game was removed from the app store.

As a package The Bioshock collection delivers, but once again (as has been with the other two 2K collections on Switch) the issue of value raises its head. Yes, fifty bucks for three fully fleshed out games and all their DLC seems like good value. But only if the only console you own is a Switch. This collection released 4 years ago on PC, Xbox One and Playstation4 and as such can be picked up for a fraction of that price nowadays. The games also play much better on these platforms, with the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X recently getting a 4K 60fps update. I guess it comes down to whether you think having versions of these great games on the go is worth the cost. But for me, no matter how good these games are, I would recommend waiting for a price drop.
