    Bayo 2 is one of the greatest games of all time. It is the Devil May Cry on steroids. The combos are easy to pull off, but they do take practice. You will be destroying demons in no time with some practice. The story is crazy, but that is fine, it whisk you up with how silly it all is, but there is some deep emotions in the game as well to keep it grounded.

    The graphics get a mild upgrade, it is the frame rate that got upgraded the most and it helps. The smoother frame rate helps pull off combos much easier and keeps the action going so you don't lose momentum. Better shadows and lighting do help the atmosphere.
    The controls are butter smooth and they don't put too much on the player. You do get some tutorials to help you figure out how to do a lot of the combos, but it wants you to experiment with button pushing and analog pressing. The set pieces are just breathtaking and set a new bench mark for action games.
    If you think what you see in COD is amazing, you ain't seen nothing yet. The action pieces on this are simply amazing and will keep blowing you away, even after you have played it over 10 times. Simply put, this is the action masterpiece to get. This game is better than the game that inspired it. DMC, which is saying a lot, but this game is leagues ahead of any action game today, so if you don't have it, get it, and is there enough new content to get it again? Not a whole lot, but the portability aspect alone makes it worth 60 bucks. Get this game now.    … Expand

    This game may have some flaws, but as far I'm concerned it succeeded in what every game should try being fun to play.

    I actually wasn't incredible crazy about the first Bayonetta. I thought the cutscenes were gratuitously long, especially the action sequences, which dragged on forever and made me wish I was the one controlling the action, the story was incomprehensible, for some sequences (like the motorcycle sequence) the controls were just plain bad, there were invisible walls galore, it was way tooI actually wasn't incredible crazy about the first Bayonetta.     Bayonetta 2 takes the things I liked about the first game and amps them up to crazy extents, with more insane boss fights, more insane set pieces, more fluid controls, and there were no sequences with terrible controls, no matter what it is you're doing, whether it be flying a jet, controlling a giant fighting mech, surfing on the outskirts of a massive tycoon, whatever it happens to be, it all feels great to control. Sure, the story is still incomprehensible, and it's still way too easy to rely upon the same weapons sets and spamming the same combos with no encouragement to try much new stuff, but there are so many insane set pieces that are such a blast to play that it's hard to hold anything else against it.    … Expand

    Great soundtrack, fast and fluid gameplay, good humour, incredible boss battles and mob design and just a ton of fun to play.

    This is a fun and exciting game! It’s one of the most action-packed games on the Switch. Great fighting style. Quite a lot of different enemies and bosses- not just reused over and over. It’s a pretty short game- a little over 6 hours for me. The story is not much to speak of- but it’s not that important in this type of game. It’s a game I can see replaying again. I highly recommend!

    Imagine more bayonetta a little easier but much more fun and smooth combat that will make you even more addicted to this game, and of course dont forget the nice cutscenes... This is without a doubt an improvement from the first game that was already an amazing game.

    I have loved Bayonetta since the Xbox 360 days, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I was going to get a new one back in the days of WII U. And now for Switch while waiting for Bayonetta 3.
    It's still a solid hack 'n slash game, but it's value solely depends what kind of gamer you are, but I'd suggest you to complete it at least to the degree that you fight Rodin the "secret"    I have loved Bayonetta since the Xbox 360 days, and I was pleasantly surprised to hear that I was going to get a new one back in the days of WII U.     This is basically a Hack 'n Slash Staple, revamped for the Switch in the best fashion possible! Bought the console for this game, was not disappointed. Just did not like the amiibo rewards, but it comes with the Nintendo territory... Still, great story, over the top action and style! Kudos for Platinum Games!

    Bayonetta is one of my favorite action games. Period. So I was pretty hyped about Bayonetta 2, seeing as it got scores that were quite a bit better than the original on those other game review sites.

    But it's not that much better. Sure, any Bayonetta is better than no Bayonetta, but I don't see how it's vastly better than the first. The action is similar, but I think the enemies in    Bayonetta is one of my favorite action games. Period.     Sure, any Bayonetta is better than no Bayonetta, but I don't see how it's vastly better than the first. The action is similar, but I think the enemies in the first game are a bit more interesting. The story is better, but it's still not particularly good. I miss Luka a bit, but Loki's actually not too bad.

    Level-wise, the really horrible is gone, but some are still kinda bad. The horrendous motorcycle level was mostly replaced by a much more manageable (but forgettable) monster-riding one. The awesome shooter level in the first game (even if it gave me nausea) is gone, and there's a new, sorta-shooter level that's terrible. The underwater stuff is kinda meh. Even though it was mostly pointless, I kinda miss the end-level shooting gallery bonus game from the original.

    Having said that, Bayonetta 1 should be around an 8.5, and I think Bayonetta 2 should get a similar score. I don't think it's a 10. For people who love zany intense action games, it's a must-buy on Switch, but I'm not sure it is for everyone else out there.    … Expand

    J'ai joué à Bayonetta 1er du nom sur Xbox 360 et c'était un vrai régal. Le jeu sort de l'ordinaire. Une petite pépite. J'ai ensuite acheter la Wii U pour jouer à Bayonetta 2 et toujours aussi jouissif. Si vous avez une Switch et voulez découvrir un nouveau monde, foncez !

The new weapon equipping system was flawless and made the combat a lot more fun, and the quality of life changes they made gave a lot more generosity to the player which was very much appreciated. The cinematics were always gripping and made it impossible to look away for even a second and avoid pausing unless I absolutely had to, with every cutscene having a meaning or purpose. The story was also a vast improvement; while there are some confusing bits here and there that require some thought, it's much more straightforward than the previous game and gives us many more characters to know and love. If anything the story was so good that that's my singular complaint - I wanted it to be longer! Give us more chapters to flush out what an awesome story they created for us!

    So much greatness was in one package here, and it was an excellent way to tie up any loose ends from the first game. Now we can move onto all new story with Bayonetta 3! Overall this game was an absolute fantastic experience. If the first game made me like Bayonetta as a series, the second game made me love it. I'm a true fan now.    … Expand

    great game, improved the gameplay, but the story does not feel something important. As if this part is spifnoff. It cannot be compared with the story scenes of the first part, as an example: a battle in space, a motorcycle ride on a rocket, a battle on a skyscraper, etc.

    This game is hilarious, I didn't play the first one and just jumped straight into Bayo 2. Has a devil may cry feel to it. Platinum games is a master at booty physics, look at bayo shake it!

    I finished the game and it was a blast to play. It is a non stop aaction packed game and I enjoyed it very much. The story, music, and characters are all excellent. The gameplay is just like the first game which is great though it was a little too difficult at times.

    A solid, interesting, and unique game for Switch. Combat is impressive, but most of the fun is had in the exploration of the graphically impressive environments. The story is a bit brief and at times combat doesn't cue you in on what you should be doing, but most of the gameplay more than makes up for this.

    Will not go into many details but game is absolutely amazing. Visually delightful, incredibly fun and surprisingly story this time is understandable and at an excellent pacing. This is the kind of game that makes its prequel greater only by the fact of its existence. Try it and you know what I mean.

    - The dialogue was hilarious, and serious when it needed to be.
    - Voice acting was top notch.
    - Music was great. Up beat music would play during a finisher, relieving the stress built up during the battle. Moon River is also a fitting song.

    The Bad:
    - Camera can be in a bad position at times, making you miss an enemy attack animation, thus failing a parry. This was understandable, given the amount of movement there was during combat.    … Expand

    8.5. Simply the better version of Bayonetta 1, everything more and better. Much more accessible on the medium difficulty level (bayonetta 1 was really hard)

    Bayonetta aurait pu être un jeu parfait, mais à décider de se saboter soi-même pour finalement être une expérience plutôt agréable dans l'ensemble.

    On a un gameplay excellent et exigeant qui est haché par des cinématiques qui ne raconte rien de bien passionnant, le gros problème est qu'on enchaine souvent des sessions de 10 minutes de combat et 5 minutes de cinématique avec une histoire    Bayonetta aurait pu être un jeu parfait, mais à décider de se saboter soi-même pour finalement être une expérience plutôt agréable dans l'ensemble.

    On a un gameplay excellent et exigeant qui est haché par des cinématiques qui ne raconte rien de bien passionnant, le gros problème est qu'on enchaine souvent des sessions de 10 minutes de combat et 5 minutes de cinématique avec une histoire loin d'être mauvaise mais qui est bourré de clichés vidéoludiques et cousu de fils blancs (L'héroine qui veut sauver son amie, la personne amnésique qui cherche qui elle est, un rival mystérieux, un antagoniste qui veut gouverner le monde et qui décide d'envoyer ses pions et intervenir en tant que boss final) dans un scénario tout écrit, tout fini par bien se passer pour tout le monde et finalement il n'y a aucun événement surprenant qui touche nos sentiments.

    On a aussi un game design plutôt intéressant à mon sens, un BTA Classique mais efficace qui à un système de "notation" des combats effectués par le joueur ( Temps d'éxécution, combo et dmg encaissés), ce qui donne une envie de s'améliorer et de s'investir dans le jeu, de vouloir recommencer les versets pour gratter toutes les notations maximale des niveaux, seulement, le retry est assez frustrant, si vous finissez un niveau de 10 versets, que vous réussissez parfaitement 9/10, vous devez recommencer la totalité du niveau pour retenter le verset "loupé", quel dommage, si seulement un mod qui aurai pu nous faire retry chaque verset comme on le souhaite.

    Et ça m'énerve un peu, car ce sont ces deux choses qui m'empêche de l'apprécier à 100%

    Le reste du jeu est plutôt maitrisé, on a un level design intéressant qui pousse le joueur à fouiller, à trouver les items utiles ainsi que les zones cachés.

    La difficulté est équilibré, un nouveau joueur qui voudra juste se défouler sans trop chercher la profondeur du gameplay pourra le terminer en spammant le même combo et en se bourrant de buff de vie et de dégats, tandis que le joueur expérimenté pourra optimiser tout son gameplay et maitriser le jeu parfaitement.

    Les personnages sont tous plutôt bien écrit, et chacun est unique en son genre, dommage qu'il soit juste sous-développés, Jeanne est badass mais peu présente, Rodin et Luka sont marrant mais passe en coup de vent, Loki pourrai être attachant mais impossible de nouer quelque chose sur une durée de vie aussi petite (9 heures), le récit aurai gagné beaucoup plus à faire interagir ces personnages entre eux, plutôt que d'essayer de se prendre au sérieux à raconter la légende d'un dieu.

    La DA est correct dans l'ensemble, parcourir l'enfer fais quand même son petit effet, même si quelques villes sont plutôt terne.

    Et le jeu est quand même sacrément spectaculaire, voir un monstre gigantesque passez au-dessus de nous avant le combattre est quand même impressionnant.

    J'aurai aimé que les développeurs se concentrent plus à rendre le côté vidéoludique encore plus fun et qu'ils auraient laissé l'histoire n'être juste un contexte.

    Donc finalement, on a un à un tel décalage entre le côté actif et inactif du jeu. C'est grisant en y jouant, mais on s'ennuie un peu en tant que spectateur. J'aurai aimé soit que les deux parties se mélangent parfaitement ou que les développeurs mettent tous leurs savoir-faire sur un seul en particulier. Dommage.    … Expand

    Bayonetta 2 is not only one of the best sequels ever made, but quite possibly one of the best character action game ever made; and we have yet to see more of DMC5! The plot is confusing and paper-thin, characters are quirky and comedic, but you probably won't notice until you play through the game more then twice because of how much fun it is.

Now, consider this: having just played and beaten "Bayonetta 2," I have to say this, and some may disagree, but here it is: "Bayonetta 2" makes the first "Bayonetta" game, a 9 out of 10 game, in my eyes, look like that absolutely awful action-orientated game that you're thinking of right now. That's how fantastic "Bayonetta 2" is.
    The sequel that may not have happened had it not been for Nintendo, "Bayonetta 2" may be one of the finest action games of all time, and it's definitely gonna be remembered as a highlight of the eighth generation. The visuals are vibrant and gorgeous, the story brings even more of the campy fun of the first game (with some more high-stakes, badass action as well), the gameplay remains very smooth and the boss battles even more exciting than before, the combat system has been improved in many ways to be faster, more fluid, and much deeper than before, and despite the relatively short length of the game, there's a lot of stuff to collect and do here. I really cannot complain about a thing with the game even if I tried, "Bayonetta 2" is the rare sequel to an already-great game that not only outdoes its predecessor, but runs circles around said predecessor to the point where it makes the old game look like total garbage. This is a game that everyone should experience and, now that it's on the Switch and plays at 60 FPS...what the hell are you waiting for? Go buy this game!!!!!

    Bayonetta 2 is an absolute blast from start to finish. It's stylish, fast-paced, and loaded with variety. The music is great; the visual elements are sharp; and the performance is consistently strong. Easy to recommend for all Nintendo Switch owners.

    Equipas a Bayonetta con armas tanto en manos como en pies, esto hace aún más combos y posibles estilos de juego, que cada uno maneja de manera diferente dependiendo de dónde los equipas. Al igual que en el primer juego, no todas las armas pueden equiparse a sus pies, pero hay más que pueden y todas las armas que pueden también pueden equiparse tanto en manos como en pies al mismo tiempo.

    Cada enemigo tiene ahora varias animaciones de golpe y aturdimiento basadas en con qué lo golpeaste y dónde, mientras que el original solo tenía una por enemigo. Esto se suma al espectáculo y te hace sentir un poco más rudo. como antes, puedes seguir disparando tus armas de mano y pie a mitad del combo al enemigo para extender el aire o el tiempo de aturdimiento, pero ahora se siente más fluido y hay más variedad de ataques posibles. Todas las armas ahora tienen la posibilidad de disparar un proyectil si detienes un combo y mantienes un ataque. Esto también es más variado que en el primer juego, donde esto solo resultó en disparar una especie de arma de carga del arma con la que atacaste, pero ahora tienes parte u otras funciones del arma que se descarga para servir como proyectil .

    Amazing game, very similar to first one but with better graphics and overall quality. First bayonetta had more humor and for me it was stand out feature of that game. Sequel is unfortunately more serious but there are some funny moments of course. Game is polished and it's simply joyful experience.

I'd say once you get past the initial cutscene where she sheds her clothes and dons her Umbra Witch look, it's uphill from there. Her character starts shining through as more than just an overly sexual woman. She's still very teasing and flirty a lot of the time, but no where near as awkward as you might find her initial introduction, same as the forst game. I personally don't think it takes away from the game though. Just makes her uniquely Bayonetta! (Also she was designed by a woman before people start bashing her for being too sexual)… Expand

    Just finished this game as I am getting ready for Bayonetta 3. And I have to say that Platinum has done it again! The combat system had so many improvements and even more options then the first. This series is truly a must play. Had so much fun with this. Highly recommended for hack-n-slash, action and DMC fans.

    Il était pas facile de faire mieux que le premier Bayonetta et pourtant la suite place la barre encore plus haut.
    Et pourtant la suite fait encore mieux avec plus de possibilité de gameplay 2 personnages permettant de jouer en coop. Les boss sont toujours aussi spectaculaires.
    Platinum Games est une fois de plus grâce au génie de Yoko Taro.

    Arguably the greatest hack and slash game of all time. The sheer variety of attacking options from all the weapons and set ups is astonishing. The controls, frame rate and gameplay are the best in the genre. As good as DMC5 was, it doesn't come close to the greatness of Bayonetta 2.

    A fantastic game that was originally released on the terrible WiiU console but thanks to some smart people at Nintendo the game was ported to the Nintendo Switch. So now you can enjoy this fantastic game on the go.

    Bayonetta 2 takes all the things that were amazing and fun from Bayonetta 1 and polishes it to perfection...The combat is a bit tighter and smother, the progesion is more enjoyable, it's just the same but perfected..And the ending, damn the last fights were cool, I got chills and " One Punch" vibes..

    Easy to pull-off but tough to master combos, tight controls, good soundtrack, great weapon variety, balanced enemy difficulty, an actual good level design, no more boring puzzles, no more dull mini-games and VERY good boss fights! It feels like they fixed MOST of the technical problems they had and only maintained the best parts, while enhancing gameplay mechanics. Side content is also pretty decent, making it very replayable, unlike its predecessor.
    It's still not perfect, but it's the closest thing to DMC5 I've ever played.

    But despite Bayonetta 2's upgrade, it's still far from being an incredible game.
    The worst thing is definitely its story! I love every single character design, but I can't relate to them in any way. Not only the voice acting is awful, but everything is VERY nonsensical, badly written and just told in a very rushed manner. I couldn't care less about the plot.
    I did try to enjoy most of it, but I just fell by the wayside. In fact, not only the story, but the entire game gets a massive drop in quality after chapter 13. It's like they just wanted to get it done with, already and it shows.
    And WHY do they keep oversexualizing EVERY woman in the game? ??

    Bayonetta 2 is one hell of a fun time, albeit flawed.
    It's a good game to shut your mind from the story and just focus on the crazy hack and slash action and mechanics.
    While I'm still skeptical whether to recommend this or not, it's safe to say that if you decide to give it a shot, you'll at least feel like a goddamn badass sexy witch.    … Expand

    Good graphics, good special effects, good soundtrack, but... I don't know, it didn't hit me that much. I think that's because it's a little tedious that you are going through the stages just smashing buttons, and that's all you will do, while other hack'n slash games have puzzles and other challenges to offer. I think the first Bayonetta game is slightly better than this one.

    This game is far too easy and has way to much of an over reliance on Umbran Climax. The enemy design in this game is annoying since many of them break out of combos whenever they want. Although I am glad that the QTE's aren't as annoying as the orignal game. Plus, this game is beautiful. But that's really all that's better about this game over the original.

    Bayonetta is just dumb fun and I had a great time with it but some of the cinematic cut scenes started dragging along the deeper into the story I got and it just made it slightly more tedious to complete each new chapter knowing there would be some clock "animation" waiting for me at every turn which is such a shame considering how great some of the character designs are.     It's fun, It's ok, but IMO I'd much rather be playing Devil May Cry or the first 3 God of Wars. I feel like it's just a "meh" kind of game and honestly don't care if a third one ever comes out, as I will most likely skip it.

When we talk about bayo we are talking about the best action game ever made and that’s a fact you can’t argue with that yes you may nitpick about the gimmick that are here in there but that doesn’t effect the main action gameplay itself. I have played all the mainstream action titles God of war, devil may cry, god hand, ninja gaiden and so on. And say for sure that bayo is the most polished and balanced in terms of gameplay mechanics and enemy AI and how they behave against the player also their design make sense to their attack pattern not like the bayo2 where it looks flashy but you can’t tell how they gonna attack. The AI in Bayo were very smart but you need to play the game at least on hard to know that. Their number of spawn aren’t random it’s calculated to be balanced; you do not fight 5 Grace and Glory in hard you fight 2 after you finish them the other 3 respawns and that to balance the flow of the fight the enemies are aggressive and comes to the player from a different directions the ones whos attacks are long range stay far from his comrades and that for when you attack the closer ones with wicked wave it will not reach him, even the closer ones come at you from different angles firstly not to interfere with their comrades attack and secondly to not get caught in the player wicked waves on the others. Now in bayo2 you have a barbaric enemies who is fast but doesn’t give much thought about their positioning and even the ones who comes back from the first game unfortunately and the player has a massive AOE attack that effect the whole area while spamming one button mindlessly instead of the torture attack which was a very good mechanic there was this equation where you torture an enemy and lose magic-> get his weapon that can do a massive damage as a reward -> use the weapon to rise your combo while replenish your magic -> use the magic to do insta wicked waves like the Heel Stomp. What’s good about those kind of Wicked waves that they don’t require a combo and you do them for cheap only three or for jewels from your magic they stagger the strong and fast enemies while may kill the week ones because of their damage and again the area of effect aren’t huge even of use the sword the enemies in the air or behind you or the long range you your attack wont reach them.
    Anyway I will stay days to explain why Bayo is better then 2 in terms of gameplay depth and mechanics, enemies design and AI, boss fights. Other then that you may see it’s better but even the story I think it’s worse the controls are good the brightness     … Expand

    I enjoyed Bayonetta 2, far more so than the first and third games. That isn't to say Bayo 2 is a perfect game though, it has problems shared across all of the games such as being far too much "on rails". For instance while in a level you can't leave one area and return to fight enemies again to practice your skills "realtime", so to speak, like you can in games like the original DMC.I enjoyed Bayonetta 2, far more so than the first and third games. For instance while in a level you can't leave one area and return to fight enemies again to practice your skills "realtime", so to speak, like you can in games like the original DMC. Having to hold a button down for a few seconds to use an item is also very at odds with the style of gameplay, something which DMC got right out of the gate on the first attempt by simply having green orbs occasionally drop in fights and sometimes able to be found in destructible objects. While the Bayo games do this too the odds are so low you might as well forget it does it at all. What Bayo 2 does get right, at least mostly, is game balancing and actually explaining things. Far more explanation is done in dialog rather than lazily scattered into levels as pages to find like a badly constructed Skyrim quest. It's easy to see why Bayo 2 is considered by far the best game once you have played them all. In fact I'll probably revisit Bayo 2 in future, something I cant say about the first and third games.… Expand

    Super fun stylish action gameplay and great story. The combat was very smooth and Bayonetta still remain as sassy as ever.

    I don't own a Wii U so I was pissed to hear that Bayonetta got an exclusive title. I went trough so many forums just to find a glimpse of hope, that one day they will port it to other consoles, but it never happened.
    Then I bought a Switch and I almost got a heart attack when I heared it will be ported to Switch.

    My favourite in this now trilogy. Polished the visuals. Streamlined the story. Kept the camp and turned it up to eleven. Gameplay wise I'm aware it has it's flaws when compared to the first- but I still really enjoy this and would take it any day over the third instalment.

    What could it be said when a game is touch perfection. It's an ectasy of fabulous action gameplay. You've got no time to take a breath. It's always moving, fighting, dancing, shooting... just the best Hack and Slash of all time.

    Incredible sequel. The story itself is less interesting than the first game but the storytelling is better. The core gameplay step up a little bit at the price of a difficulty a bit to easy.

    The adventures of the sexy witch were superb when thye were first released on the Wii U and -even though there’s nothing really new to find in this edition- they remain superb on Nintendo’s newest console.

    Bayonetta 2 is Action video gaming perfected. The game is simply great, with amazing set pieces and a crazy story, but the real highlight of the game is the combat that simply thrives on letting the player figure out the best ways to tackle a fight without holding your hand. With the extra modes and the added bonus of the first game, there is no getting around it – this game is a masterpiece and a must have on the Switch.
