This collection includes games from the Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, 8 bit computer line and YES, Jaguar and Lynx games (for the first time!) Digital Eclipse built an emulator for the project, even! This is the NEW standard for how all such collections should be in the future, and even though it took 50 years to get there, I'm glad that Digital Eclipse was at the help. Mike Mika & Stephen Frost and team have done a great job here with this amazing game! Digital Eclipse also created 5 new 'Reimagined' games from the ground up, which are amazing! These are: Quadratank, Haunted Houses, VCTR-SCTR (my favorite), Yars Reimagined, Neo Breakout (so fun!) and SwordQuest: Airworld (which was never completed over 40 years ago!) The videos includes are on an 'interactive timeline,' which begs you to explore the highs and lows of Atari's stellar 50 year history, from the arcade origins to the 90's and beyond!     Unfortunately the best game in whole compilation, Tempest 2000 is broken, after you pass to "red levels" music stop playing after few seconds.

    If you've never played an Atari game, there's no better place to start. No video game company could have possibly asked for a better celebration of their history. Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is a masterpiece, and everyone who has any interest in the history of the video game industry owes it to themselves to give it a go.     With Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, Digital Eclipse has set a new bar for future historical compilations in video games. It's a digital traveling museum exhibit, as the game bursts at the seams with nostalgia thanks to more than 100 playable games and hundreds of relics from the developer's vault. While a good amount of the games offered will pass by quickly, those brief life spans cannot weigh down the amazing historical value of Atari 50, and I hope Digital Eclipse has more wings of its digital history tour opening in the coming years.

    Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration serves to teach – and remind – us of a time in gaming that was very different to the one we live in now. One that was perhaps a little more exciting and imaginative. If you go in with an open and inquisitive mind there’s almost endless entertainment to be found here. Trust us.
