In the end, the started and overt point of Archlion Saga is that it was developed to introduce people who are less familiar with JRPGs to the genre. The developers failed in doing that, since anyone who plays this as their first JRPG won't touch another one for a very, very long time. No one likes having their intelligence insulted, even if they are completely new to something.

its easy and short. What's worth more is the well written story. Try it out and you want regret it.

Given that you can probably pick it up for few euros it's ideal to play on one or two airplane trips and layovers, it's lightweight and easy to pick up where you left if you get interrupted. Rather linear and simple, if I didn't know it's one of kemco's showelware JRPGs could've thought it's some students first attempt at writing a game, it's quite naive like that but it works and keeps you entertained for few hours. The story is lacking and it does not flesh out the characters or overall story more than it thinks it needs to. The combat is atrociously boring and I found myself getting bored even during the boss fight; the lack of attachment to the world leave you just whacking down a health bar until its empty. However, it does bring back the nostalgia of the SNES era of RPGs; and although that doesn't do us much, it saves it from being an unenjoyable experience. Overall it's in the same vain as Browser Quest and is fun in short spurts, but I do not see it becoming a cult classic anytime soon. Expand
