Fight like a nerd to defend Akihabara from the diabolical "Synthisters," vampires that can only be defeated by stripping them down to their bare essentials.

Boasting multiple story routes, a unique combat system in which everyday objects become weapons, and a narrative dripping with social satire and subtle nods to Japanese pop culture, AKIBA'S TRIP is a present-day supernatural adventure for the Japanophile in all of us.

This new edition features all the awesome otaku content from the previous release, including the original game's DLC for free, plus an all-new story route focusing on the lovable Finnish exchange student, otaku, and part-time maid Kati Raikkonen, complete with all-new voice over in Japanese and English featuring the original cast.

Many director's cuts can be a dubious proposition. But Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed main rip-off is centered on the removal of antagonist apparel. For many, that will be a very good thing.

If you enjoyed the prior AKIBA’S TRIP game on Switch, this one is a lot better not only in its gameplay, but also in port quality. If you already played or own AKIBA’S TRIP: Undead & Undressed on another platform, I’d grab the DLC for the low asking price rather than buying the whole game again on Switch unless of course you want to replay it. This is a great way to own the complete game with DLC on cartridge though from a preservation point of view.

Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed is not a game that has aged well. Its combat is repetitive, its map is too restrictive and its dialogue sometimes leans into the worst tropes too sincerely to be called parody. However, it’s clear that there is an audience for this out there, or it wouldn’t have gotten this remaster. If you can put up with the game’s many issues, it may be possible to lose yourself in the absurdity of its concept and enjoy its more successful satirical moments.
