The game's story should be very relatable and touching to almost anyone. A perfect reminder that we should appreciate reality even if it is not as good as a dream.

    Singular play-through.

Graphics & Sound: Throwback pixel art style, basic at times, but charming. Some good sound moments. Nothing significantly memorable in either capacity, but effective in the moment. 3.5/5 Story: Lots of sprawl to the story, but wraps up nicely in the end. It's a heavy story, but fell short of affecting me. I appreciate what it tried, it did a great job. 4/5

Technicals: No bugs noticed, game ran well on the Switch. 5/5

Gameplay: Simple gameplay, a bit more involved than a visual novel, but not significantly more than that. Adventure games aren't the pinnacle of gameplay. 2.5/5

Replayability: Not much to really gain from playing again to me. 1/5

Overall: Cute game that tackles a difficult subject, and does a good job in execution. For $20, it's a simple game with a solid story. I don't regret a penny spent on it. 4/5

The game is an in depth analysis on the borderline personality disorder; it goes through the journey of a girl's mind being betrayed by her own father trying to find peace with that; it does it with the help of an avatar controlled by the player. Perhaps it would work even better as an indie film instead of a game because the best part of it is the core story and not the gameplay. Expand

A true masterpiece and a hidden gem. The story is a 10/10, the visual presentation is a 10/10. If you are a fan of the pixel art style, a unique story, petting lot of cats and some minor puzzles you should definitely get this game. If you like adventures with a strong narrative load, and that deal with real themes, even with fantastic overtones, A Space for the Unbound has many chances to delight you. And it also has almost everything: graphics, sound, good design, characters, script... It may have some ups and downs in its development, but if you take the bait, you won't be able to put it down.

A Space for the Unbound is an adventure game that stands out for its absolutely gorgeous art style and memorable plot that brings in a bag of difficult themes for the player to come into contact with. As far as its gameplay goes, this is a rewarding experience featuring a great amount of puzzles, but its pacing is not what most players would expect, and often it's possible to be facing too many redundant tasks. This means that seasoned adventure game fans will feel more at ease with A Space for the Unbound, whereas a broader segment of the public might be put off by the way the game advances.

A Space for the Unbound rotates between visual novel scenes, fetch quests, quick-time-event fights and increasingly complex puzzles. It moves along at a steady pace, but gives space for the player to breathe when things get heavy. There's always a stray cat to pet if you need a moment to recover.
