Stadia is amazing. It's the future of gaming, and it's here now! I'm constantly in awe of how well it works on my phone, laptop and TV. HavingStadia is amazing. It's the future of gaming, and it's here now! I'm constantly in awe of how well it works on my phone, laptop and TV. Having a lot of fun with all the games they've been adding. The Pro subscription nets you 4-5 games a month at no extra cost, but you can also buy games individually. It's a good value. Full Review »

Stadia works great. I use it on a low-end PC with mouse and keyboard, and it feels like I'm playing a local game on a high-end gaming rig. ProStadia works great. So, full disclosure, I am Dr. Centz, the No. 1 fan of Stadia, so you might think my review is bias. Let me explain why Stadia is a 10/10 rightSo, full disclosure, I am Dr. Centz, the No. 1 fan of Stadia, so you might think my review is bias. Let me explain why Stadia is a 10/10 right now.

For something to be a 10, it has to compare to similar service. Sure Stadia can & will improve, but that don't mean you downrate it because it has more potential. It simply is the dominant force in its niche. If its truly the best at what it is, how can it not be the highest rating on the chart?

    1. The technology of Stadia is far superior than any other cloud gaming platform. I don't have to state the obvious, with Youtube's compression tech etc, Stadia is way ahead of the curve here.

    2. The business model is by far the best & becoming more apparent everyday. The competing fan base media, tried to attack & destroy Stadia as they inevitably will lose their market share and numbers, but you can't hide the truth for long.

People like Yong Yea who trash talk Stadia for clickbait money are now hushing up. Simply because if you listen to people like him, his problem has always been the game library and business model
behind it are the issues and has nothing to do with the tech behind Stadia. As he states, the tech works. So what is the core issue of constant negative gripes? Outside of his nitpicking on Stadia changes, like studios closing and people leaving, he claims its the business model. Well, its obvious, he is no business man and his point has no merit and continues to tumble out of being a debatable point. Let's examine.

Sure, at this point in time, if you take 300 games, and take that as a public offering and go here is $14.99 go at it...
That sounds like a great deal compared to Stadia's $9.99 for a few free games. But here's the catch and what most all debaters miss. It's a great deal but only in the beginning...

    1. Quantity
So what is quantity? If the quantity of games are a bunch of old ones that you are never going to play, is it really a good of bargain as it seems? What's the future for this business model?
Who wants to play Gears of War 2, 3, etc. when GOW 5 is out? So okay, I'll give you the fact you can dumpster dive for a while... But what you don't get is that every month your dumpster gets smaller and smaller, losing value over time. Argue that with Stadia.

    2. See, Your Games Stay on Stadia.
If you ever buy, or CLAIM a free PRO game on Stadia, whenever you or someone in your family has PRO you can ALWAYS come back to play it. (Exception bought games with no family share, typically service over time games) Pro Games may go away from being claimed, but again, if you claimed it, it will be there in your account to play whenever you choose to play in the future.

This is not the case on other platforms. The games come and go, and once gone, its gone, there's no choice to keep it. All I can say to this is.. WTF!?!? Removing a game I play would be a instant unsubscribe from my end. IMO, what a horrible business model!

So with Stadia, you buy your games, you have them. You buy Stadia Pro, you get some free games, and ability to enjoy 4k gaming on your best screens. And then, the overlooked benefit, you ALSO get many discounts. Sometimes HUGE discounts. For example, I got Borderlands 3 Ultimate, for some $10.xx as a PRO special. If I bought that game outright it would be well over $100.00, so I got my Stadia Pro free for a whole year if you want to think about it that way. And now that I bought the game. I don't need Pro to play it.. Lose my job? I can unsubscribe and still play Borderlands 3, whenever and wherever I choose. Try that with the other platforms.

    3. Quality of Service
The service works, I've been playing basically ever day since initial launch. I have had no real issues. Sure, maybe a few game servers crashed a few times while playing, that happens, simply restart and back in action. I never had a night where I could never play a game due to Stadia being unresponsive or down. We are going on close to 2 years now.

    4. Features
Stadia has features galore. No patching, Crowd Play, Crowd Choice, supports CrossPlay (developer choice), Bandwidth choice, family Share, and more... Its not simply a port streaming over, its a platform that is not held back by hard drive limits, or even processing power, in many cases you can utilize advanced features making games more realistic, powerful, etc. Can't wait till developers start unleashing this technology.

    5. Investment
Dollar for dollar, Stadia blows away the competition. No hardware to purchase. Peripherals such as Controller, Chromecast etc. are optional. Games you buy do NOT require a Stadia subscription to play... Wait, no subscription to play? If you buy the game on PS & Xbox, you have to pay EXTRA to play on multiplayer games. A console, a subscription to play online and another subscription to cloud game?!? where does it end.

The arguments are weak and get weaker over time. That my friends gets Stadia a 10/10 Metacritic score.
