Wonderful game. It was just so much fun with the stealth, the occasional action, managing my recruits, and playing co-op. It is by far the best game on the PSP.

I wanted to like this game...it has its moments. Problem is, the controls are horrid. Playing this made me want to play Monster Hunter or Logan's Shadow, both superior games for enjoyability and controls. Sadly, when Monster Hunter has better controls, you know you are in for trouble. What could have been a great (for PSP standards) game, turns into an overrated heap of critic vomit. I wanted to like this game...it has its moments. Problem is, the controls are horrid. Metal Gear is a game for fanboys. I love stealth games, liked the original MGS, and loved every Splinter Cell game. This is no stealth game. This is a micromanaging farming simulator with horrid controls and elements of stealth. Pass. Expand

Possibly the greatest handheld Metal gear Yet and defintley one of the top three PSP games of ALL time. From the graphics, all the things you can do, production value, and the multiplayer. This is the COMPLETE handheld package. Buy this if you have a PSP at all. You won't regret it.

This game is amazing. i love the rpg elements and the progression, it just feels so hands on so immersive. very few games hook me from the start and i am happy to say this game is amazing right from the start and gets better and better as you progress. also the number of things you can do in this game is crazy. this game is pure Hideo through and through.

Okay, I have played every Metal Gear game that exists and I've always had a PSP. My Honda Fit is covered in MGS and Foxhound logos. While I did enjoy Acid 1 & 2 and Portable Ops, I have been waiting on the next console game. And this IS MGS5. I really can't believe that more developers don't take advantage of the PSP's power like this game does. Hideo Kojima's oversight of this game is evident in every aspect of this game and I am thoroughly impressed! Expand

Actually i would give this game a 9.5 if that were possible. The only reason why i didnt give this game a perfect ten is because of the lack of online play. Maybe they couldnt fit it in. Maybe their trying to get more people to buy more ps3s. Who knows but it is not very easy to find someone else with a psp with the same game as you nowadays. Maybe they can add online in a patch hmm?

Perfect. Remember how much better MGS3 was than MGS2? That's the quantum leap of quality MGS:PW has taken after Metal Gear's first outing on the PSP, 'Portable Ops'. Highly, highly recommended. This is a true MGS game, loaded with content and layered like the proverbial onion. It only serves to make me wonder: why wasn't it called MGS5? It's certainly a Perfect. The only thing about this game are the boss battles. They require strategy, but most of the time it just boils down to a 'blast away' mentality. The bosses here are a bit too tough, but hey. MGS:PW still gets a ten. Plus it's one of the most addictive games I've played in a long while- have fun figuring out Mother Base. Expand

I'm not that metal gear solid fanboy, i just like stealth/action games like mgs. i tell you this game rocks, at first it took me a while on getting to the controls but after that epicness comes in. :D it's very deep, very long, i already played the full english one, so don't come into my face and tell me... " YOU HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED THE WHOLE GAME ".

I am a long time MGS fan. And this is the seconds best game after MGS3 for me. Everybody owning a PSP or liking MGS shouldn't miss this one.

I think critics, in their respective spheres, give praise to games made for their spheres since nothing comes their way. This game is horrible. The controls are annoying-they do not work on the psp. Story? Nothing special, but it is better than most psp titles (which is not saying much.) Not worth full retail price and already overrated. Had the control scheme been made more player friendly, this could have been a fun title. Sadly, all the control options simply make this game a bore, taking all the fun out of "stealth," causing a run and gun game instead. Buy the siphon filter games for better graphics and better controls. Expand

From the top-notch characterizations to the ethical indecision of its cast, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a significant step forward for the series's maestro.
  2. Do not wait for the PSP2. Buy a copy of this game and the hardware necessary to play it as soon as is humanly possible. You're not going to see a better marriage of technical know-how, narrative inventiveness and holy-crap-I'm-playing-a-console-game-on-a-handheld-level awe on the system.
  3. Fans of the series will like this installment and newcomers to Metal Gear Solid like me will enjoy it as well.
