It's a good game but doesn't come close to the quality of any other Jak game

Decent game from Naughty Dog. I expected much more however. The story is okay, wish it was better and I do wish it actually pertained to the real series more. Wish there was elements of romance in there. I sensed none whatsoever. Can't complain because it did get me addicted for quite a while and the boss levels were quite intriguing. Nonetheless, get this game used, not worth full price. A 7/10

The Game wasn't even close to what it was before! Naughty Dog were not involved in the making of this game, so the replacement developers for this game had absolutely no idea what they were doing. They could have left the series on a high note but this is everything wrong wih jak and daxter all together. Awful, Awful, Awful game

Maybe it's because i'm new to the Jak series, but i love this game! Its really fun and the eco powers are very cool. Also love the great variety of customization and power ups, really enjoyed customizing the planes and the sidequests.

This game is very deserving of a zero BUT here's why. The Jak and Daxter series is a series looked at very highly upon due to story, creativity, gameplay, and much much more. The Jak and Daxter series is a series looked at very highly upon due to story, creativity, gameplay, and much much more. This is because the original developers, Naughty Dog are very talented at what they do. When this game was announced which its fans had been waiting very patiently for a new installment, they expected to get a return of their favorite heroes to continue the amazing story and adventure from Jak 3. This is not at all the case being that the new developers High Impact Games had made it a spin off which has nothing to do with anything the fans of the series had loved it for. This caused mass hatred towards High Impact Games because despite it being a poor installment in the series, it was a poorly crafted game, from the mechanics to gameplay. It also took away the open world and key features such as dark and light Jak which had been an iconic aspect to Jak since Jak II. This game was very linear and the only way to 100% it is the first time around. The actual game itself taking out all elements of the Jak series would receive a 5 but because it takes away everything from what the series was, it was a disaster. There were many poor ideas crafted into the game such as Dark Daxter which feels as if they were taken from a webpage filled with illogical requests to put into the game from a fan that didn't quite understand the reason behind the previous games story. They all have no correlation to the story and what is set as reality in the game. This series has been in high demand by its true fans for a while now and even now after this game had ruined the name of what Jak and Daxter is, we want a Jak game made by Naughty Dog to satisfy our disappointment from this game. This is a precious series and should not be made for the sake of it, but rather by people who understand what the series is about and what is supposed to happen in the story that coincides with the previous games story. I was very disappointed to have gotten my hopes up for this game back in 2009 and i hope that one day, Naughty Dog decides to make a new Jak and Daxter game to continue the great story that many people have been intrigued by for years and want their questions to be answered through amazing gameplay and story! This game has nearly NOTHING to do with the previous games in the series. Who's idea was it to have half the game set in airships!?! In previous games you spend time in awesome and big landscapes kicking butt with awesome guns but this game is set in a terribly made landscape. You can fly through most of it! The game wasn't even made by the original creators: Naughty Dog. This is not worth buying.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is a piece of crap not made by Naughty Dog. Plays pretty well, but it’s a mess in terms of inconsistent narrative and structure that was known for in the PS2 era.

Since drunkedman entered the jak 3 it was going badly and worse since in which characters such as bruter, the cocopeero were missing and strangely it was very short and sometimes there were things that felt strange, such as how is it that aslin was kiss with jak at the end? why? why!?!? what happened with kiera!? but it is that the lost frontier ..... has the worst story of jak and daxter by far, and the writer of the story is neither more nor less than neil drunkedman, it seems that he was also drunk at the time of writing this story as he did with the last of us 2 because it shows that this game has no plot sense respecting the 3 games previous of the saga, I wonder how they did not fire Neil after the botch he did here with the plot because it makes 0 sense, it is an insult to the triology, it is seen that this man has no regard for the characters that already exist and prefers to invent things as seen in the last of us 2, everything he touches ruins it
Please, the daxter thing does not make sense, it would have to have been transformed into an obscurator, not into that weird thing in addition to more inconsistencies, well, it is what there is, what a coincidence that it has a 5.6 like the tlou, even now It will change when I put my negative vote. It is seen that here drunkman was already training to **** next games

Jak fans like myself will find this a disappointment. The camera is poor, flying is too repetitive, story is not exciting nor the characters, graphics are average. There are some good platforming aspects and some cool eco powers. But really, it's just not good enough.

Actually, I have no idea what to say. The game is good and bad at the same time. Not bad music, bosses became more difficult, but... it's just not that old Jak game, which we knew.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

Despite the moments that Lost Frontier falters, most of the game is a solid sequel that lives up to the Jak legacy. The platforming is a nice homage to the existing Jak games, and the flight combat builds a new element that feels both refreshing and familiar.
  2. Despite its few issues, The Lost Frontier is yet another gratifying Jak and Daxter game that feels right at home on the PSP. While we could have done without the Dark Daxter moments in the game, flying the unfriendly skies and exploring the impressive Lost Frontier is more than enough reason to pick this one up right away.
  3. As you might expect from a new developer’s take on a series with such history, The Lost Frontier doesn’t feel essential. If you miss this game, you’re not going to be missing any major plot movements or character development in the Jak universe (and don’t even get me started on the snoozer of a bad guy). But if you’ve been jonesing for the gameplay that made you fall in love with the series in the first place, The Lost Frontier more or less delivers.
