    Not a bad game per se, but Elminage Original sometimes stays a little bit too true to the rules of its genre. Confuse handling and a non-existent story sometimes diminish the fun of the gameplay.

    Elminage Original's classic design certainly offers an alternative to more modern dungeon crawlers, but its inability to explain even the simplest of mechanics make it a difficult game to get into. If you've got fond memories of classic RPG titles, then this offers a reasonable way to revisit that nostalgia. It is, however, a title that can only truly be recommended to a very small niche.

    Elminage is not a bad game, but it feels woefully out of place in today’s market. That said, it does have a very specific target audience, and those particular gamers will lap it up. Slow-paced, dated, and under-explained in every department, the less-than-stellar localisation only compounds all of Elminage Original’s issues and ensures that only die-hard genre fans will truly enjoy it.

    Elminage Original is a wholly unoriginal game in almost every aspect. It's perfectly competent in its gameplay, yet less than capable and enthralling in so many other ways that are significant.

    With companies like XSEED offering higher quality localizations at the exact same price point, there is absolutely no excuse for the abominable work done here by UFO.

It's for fans of the Dark Spire. This game will not hold your hand. You're thrown into the deep end and expected to swim. If you do, you'll be greatly rewarded for it. Elminage has everything I love in a DC: minimalist plot, great characters, NPC dungeon encounters, and sublime music.

    It's a tough ride, but all the more enjoyable once you manage to adjust. If Gothic burned you, don't put the series off. The original is really the best.    … Full Review »

This game may not be for everyone due to it's old school dungeon crawler design and punishing difficulty. but for me the games challenge is what created such a great sense of accomplishment. Especially after forming you're own unique 6 character party and succeeding... (finally). Fans of hardcore dungeon crawlers such as Wizardry and a bards tale will love this game. 9/10… Full Review »
