    Fun gameplay, menus, items, and leveling customization (involving movesets) make this game somewhat addictive. Frustration sets in when the computer enemies - rather than being balanced - are either terribly weak or overpowered in certain areas due to items. Also, you grind by repeating the story over and over - the load times can be frustrating. The graphics are a beauty but overall I Fun gameplay, menus, items, and leveling customization (involving movesets) make this game somewhat addictive. Frustration sets in when the computer enemies - rather than being balanced - are either terribly weak or overpowered in certain areas due to items. Also, you grind by repeating the story over and over - the load times can be frustrating. The graphics are a beauty but overall I was disappointed by the typical Japanese use of repeating character sprites. Almost all of your enemies are essentially weaker copies of the characters. But the worst part of Dissidia is the dialogue. There is no japanese voice acting option. Thankfully you can change it to text. The english dialogue is insanely overacted. The best part of dissidia (aside from the action when the characters involved are relatively balanced) is the fanservice. Those who have purchased the FF games will be pleased at the many appearances of certain characters. Personally I wasn't the greatest FF7 or FF8 fan but I was excited to see FF1, FF4, FF6, and FF9 characters. This made beating up Cloud or Squall with Warrior of Light or Terra very satisfying.… Expand

    Definitely a great game worthy of the Final Fantasy name. It's very addicting and while the voice acting seems to be the only aspect of this game that is not that spectacular, once you've played enough you'd surely learn to appreciate them.

    Sure, fighting is alright. It's a pretty strategic one. But it is exactly what I hate in all RPG games so far it's too difficult. Sure, I played through Persona 3 Portable and FF Crisis Core and I just happen to get one hit k.o.ed in this game on a mission that has 1 star difficulty while playing on easy mode? Sure, sure, and I also get to hit enemies for 1 courage point at a time butSure, fighting is alright. It's a pretty strategic one. But it is exactly what I hate in all RPG games so far it's too difficult.     The story mode of this game is incredibly anal and frustrating due to being unable to heal between rounds and having to fight enemies 2 or 3 times your level (who can kill you in 1 or 2 hits). Avoid it.

    It's a PSP game and that's a console that Square Enix is still willingly spend that much time and effort into producing high quality games for it. Five major points to talk so it's a simplified version, GRAPHICS: slick nice damn good for a PSP. MUSIC: Nice, especially the Chaos version of the fanfare. GAMEPLAY: Can be repetitive at times but redeems itself with the fast pace action andIt's a PSP game and that's a console that Square Enix is still willingly spend that much time and effort into producing high quality games for it.     I've never played a Final Fantasy game before. The closest I was to Final fantasy was playing the Kingdom Hearts games. So when I heard about Dissidia and its gameplay, I decided to try out the demo on the PSN, and I actually enjoyed it. So I got the game, and it was pretty sweet. I didn't really care for the plot in this game, so I wasn't really disappointed by it as much as some of you.I've never played a Final Fantasy game before.     I want to like this game but just thinking about the control scheme makes me not want to even think about playing it ever again. This is a similar curse that afflict many would be great PSP games.

    When I first saw this game. I thought of it as an adventure rather than a fighting combat kind of thing. So I bought it. When I first tried it. I thought is as a lame game. But when I unlocked more characters and clothing I got hooked up. I wanted more. So I bought the prequel to this game, Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy.

    Despues de jugar un tiempo a este juego debo decir que es decepcionante y no lo recomiendo. Pasamos del clasico FF de lucha por turnos donde se requeria estrategia y hacer algo fuera de lugar en mal momento nos costaba tener que cargar partida a un juego donde basicamente gana el que mas rapido machaque los botones. Cuando juego un RPG busco mejorar mi personaje, darle una historia y enDespues de jugar un tiempo a este juego debo decir que es decepcionante y no lo recomiendo. Pasamos del clasico FF de lucha por turnos donde se requeria estrategia y hacer algo fuera de lugar en mal momento nos costaba tener que cargar partida a un juego donde basicamente gana el que mas rapido machaque los botones. Cuando juego un RPG busco mejorar mi personaje, darle una historia y en definitiva hacer de un escualido personaje inicial un guerrero fuerte en un avance progresivo del juego, es decir, que los enemigos se vuelvan mas duros conforme yo lo haga manteniendo siempre asi un equilibrio y batallas intensas. Cuando jugue FF: Dissidia por primera vez me tentaba la idea de un FF distinto y lo de los combates que esta vez no son por turnos y no tarde en darme cuenta de mi error.

    El juego se convierte en repetitivo hasta decir basta y no ofrece mecanicas nuevas mas halla de machacar los botones en el mismo combo una y otra y otra vez haciendolo aburrido al largo tiempo. Ademas el juego no te presenta una historia clara simplemente coloca a todos los personajes de los anteriores FF y ale maravillas todos en un mundo de un sueño para luchar contra el "mal" y punto sin ningun tipo de explicacion y te dan subtramas que son igual de aburridas que el juego en si.

    Como he dicho antes busco un avance progresivo cosa que este juego se pasa por sus partes nobles, simplemente pasamos de luchar contra un enemigo insultantemente facil a otro que nos da una soberana paliza una y otra y otra vez pero lo peor es que cuando consigues de casualidad vencer a estos enemigos omnipotentes la recompensa no esta acorde con lo que a costado matarlo, te dan una cosa que es incluso peor que lo que actualmente llevas y te decepciona asi que terminas optando por evitar los combates con estos enemigos pues no te reportan beneficio mas halla de una poca experiencia extra.

    Otros fallos que e encontrado es la camara la cual en mapas como pandemoniun te deja vendido al intentar esquivar un ataque de persecuccion enfocando una pared dejandote una vision total de 0. Ademas la poca historia que tiene el juego es tan irrelevante que puedes ir directamente a por el boss final despues de hacer la primera odisea.

    En definitiva este juego deja mucho que desear y no lo recomiendo, saldria mucho mas rentable adquirir cualquier otro juego de la saga.    … Expand

Amazing graphics, voice actors, gameplay, and replay value; the average person could easily have over 100 hours of gameplay and still not have beaten the game totally. AdHoc adds the real fun to the game, where you rage at and dominate your friends, and can be played with the PS3 Final Fantasy Dissidia overwhelmed me with its gameplay videos and didn't disappoint with its arrival. Graphics are PS2 quality in FMVs and wayy beyond your normal PSP game in battles. Most of your favorite songs are here too, like Dark Messenger, Otherworld, One Winged Angel, and many more! On the same note, certain voice actors, Zidane, Cloud, I'm looking at you, make the character seem emo and flat, as per Cloud, or just out of place and annoying, Zidane. The game also heavily revolves around blocking and dodging and will get annoying especially when the CPU anticipates this better than your average player. It would have also been nice to add minigames or something other than fighting but all in all, it's amazing. I hate how half of the reviewers haven't even played the game, yes, it is difficult, but if you find it that difficult, go back to playing halo 3 or some casual DS games, suited to your style.… Expand

    This game is not only addicting but is a wonder for final fantasy fans! It has so much depth yet is easy to pick up when you first play. It has so much extra content which is just amazing. The graphics are stunning and the story mode is amazingly well kept together.

    I must admit I am pleasantly surprised. A game like this from Square Enix cannot be good can it? I bought it for the 3D renderings of my favorite chars and the awesome re arranged sound track. I really didnt expect it to be that enjoyable. It turns out that its simple formula is quite clever. There are lots of things you can do and lots of rewards and items. The story is really simple for I must admit I am pleasantly surprised. A game like this from Square Enix cannot be good can it? The story is really simple for a Final Fantasy title but weaving together a story for all the main characters and bosses of each game is really hard as well as coming up with personalities for characters from the 8bit and 16bit eras. Not to mention this is a borderline fighting game and for a fighting game this has the best story telling on all levels. I recommend it to anyone with a PSP.… Expand

    I'm still playing it a year and a half after purchasing it, that says a lot right there. I think the combat system, once you get your head round it is a lot of fun. The graphics are top notch and as long as you don't pay much attention to the rather lacklustre plot and treat it as a novel fighting game you won't be dissappointed. With time this has become probably my favorite game for the PSP

I bought this game because i had a psp go and was dieing for Kingdom Hearts BBS, but if you have been following the latest news on psp and psp go BBS isn't available for the psp go and chances are sadly that it might never be. So knowing Square Enix was behind BBS i thought id give Dissidia a try as an attempt to scratch the itch. And was i pleasantlyThis game is a break from reality.     Its allright but nothing special. Graphics are good, story is not worth to mention and the battle system is fun, but gets boring fast. I like the music, which they took from older ff games and made them new.

    Overall, it made for an interesting fighting game, mixed in with RPG elements. The story was pretty interesting and the combat is fun and addicting. Certainly a must-buy for any Final Fantasy fan. 9/10

When I first played this game it got hard to understand and how to purchase equipment and items.     Great game. It wasn't attractive at first with the courage points and one set of combos/attacks for a button and a direction, but after a while, I could not stop playing. I mean I got to level 100 with Cloud, Squall, and Sephiroth within a month, and every round I would always aim for 9999 courage points, and then attack (now I realize it was really nonstrategic).     If you love Final Fantasy and wished you had a game where you could move like Advent Children, this is the best option out there. At least if you discount 012. Between Dissidia and 012 you've got 2 very solid fighter RPGs, which is an odd combo and thus a niche title.
    This is NOT a perfect title, and would be better on a full console, but, for what it is, I don't know a single game    If you love Final Fantasy and wished you had a game where you could move like Advent Children, this is the best option out there.     The game is very very good, I love the graphics, the attacks are just flawlessly made, character models are great. Opponents are as strong as crap. (It's hard to beat in my case...) Weapons are really great, and the fact that the characters are the characters from the past really kicks up my love for this game.     If you’re just gonna play through the game in single player, it’s simply not gonna be that fun. I recommend the game for anyone who has a friend to play with, but I would say skip it if you’re just gonna play the campaign.    It’s an OK game.     The gameplay is a fully 3D fighter (pretty good-looking, I have to admit) using a unique style of fighting. The amount of damage you give is entirely decided by your ”bravery”. That means that all HP attacks are the same strength. So the usefulness of your attacks are completely decided by their range and speed. To get more bravery you have to use bravery attacks to drain their bravery. When their bravery is gone they ”break” giving you a LOT of bravery. This also leaves the broken enemy with a very weak defense. This is when you’re supposed to OBLITERATE them with your HP attacks.
    It’s a good idea that works well, but it’s not enough to make the fights varied in my opinion.
    So give it a try if it sounds interesting, but don’t expect it to be a very good fighting game.    … Expand

    Decenas y decenas de horas al servicio de los fans de Final Fantasy. Junto a Crisis Core, mi inicio en la franquicia y amor a primera vista. Rezo por un remake de este y no lo que hicieron con NT. Cuando digo decenas de horas puedo decir también... centenares.

    Dissidia is a surprisingly unique and entertaining portable fighter, if not inconsistent. While you will never see this break into a tournament space, Dissidia is fun enough -- and filled to the brim with enough Final Fantasy fanservice -- where it can be enjoyed by franchise fans.

    worth it and glad to play this game again. so much memories and nostalgia within this spin off game in the series.

    Never liked it, but my brother loved it so i played it from time to time. Its just not fun.

    Fighting game with popular characters from the famous Final Fantasy series comes (unsurprisingly) with RPG elements and goes very well with it. [Oct 2009]

    Dissidia: Final Fantasy is a game that won't please the majority of the audience. It's a bit in between genres. Fighter fans will feel there are too many rpg elements, while RPG fans will feel it lacks depth. Square Enix also assumes that everyone knows the entire Final Fantasy history, catering this game towards the fans. Everyone else should try this game before buying it.

    Dissidia: Final Fantasy is technically the best PSP game so far. Also it’s a lot of fun to fight with the characters out of the different parts of the Final Fantasy series.
