    Number one horror of my childhood and my entire life.
    (Could only play with my best friend when we were kids)
    Thanks "TeamSilent" for the amazing Masterpiece of 1999 and unforgettable memories. Especially wanna thank Akira Yamaoka for the great, groundbreaking and uncomparable sound design and music that made the game 60% scarier and unique! Really loved CGI moments of the game (just    Number one horror of my childhood and my entire life.

    Really loved CGI moments of the game (just remember camera movement in the dark alley in first 5 minutes of game).
    Control is hard and it makes game more difficult and interesting, sometimes you wanna yell and kill Harry (main character) with your own hands instead of monsters because he's too slow turning around and run! :D
    It's absolutely atmospheric nightmare with it's own exceptional world. Still get a little bit nervous and at the same time excited when I hear the air raid siren in town.    … Expand

    Best horror game ever existed till this day. No one comes even close to Silent Hill. Also this game was released on PS1 is hard to believe what they achieved in 90s. 10/10

    Первый Сайлент Хилл Великая конечно игра. Я не был знаком ни с одной игрой серии, но когда я впервые услышал музыку из оных, я сразу влюбился. Мистика, Жуть и Любопытство - Все эти чувства я испытал от одной только заглавной темы игры. И сама игра меня в этих чувствах не обмануло. Жуткий и таинственный город, по которому нам приходиться передвигаться, таинственные локации и приятные дляПервый Сайлент Хилл Великая конечно игра.     En iyi korku oyun serilerinden bir tanesi hatta en iyisi olduğunu düşündüğüm silent hill serisinin birinci oyunu. Bana hissetdirdiklerini asla bir metin kimseye anlatamıyacak ama kısaca şunu diyebilirim ki sadece ve sadece oynayın yorum okumayın çünkü silent hill bir his oyunudur.

    Fantastic horror, probably the best one on ps1. The focus here is not the combat, most of the time you simply explore town of silent hill, but trust me, thats all you need, its not an experience you are going to forget.

    Primer juego de mi primer consola la ps1, que marco mi infancia, este juego cuando lo jugue fue la ostia el primer juego que logro asustarme desde el principio, gracias a este juego empece a jugar videojuegos, muy recomendado pero en pc y con algun mod de graficos, ya que los graficos de esa epoca en la actualidad te puede joder la experiencia

    This review is biased and personal Silent Hill for the playstation 1 was a game changer for for me this game is one of my all time favorite games it was one of the first games i had and played as a kid it was my fathers i have very strong feelings of nostalgia for this title i would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of survival horror and doesnt mind tank controls and ps1 graphics

    Repetitive as **** but its 1999 so who cares. The narrative is pretty good but its the characters who really shine, one of the greatest atmospheric horror games ever.

    The best survivor horror in the history of the gaming industry. The developers, thanks to their talent and ingenuity, were able to create an unreal atmosphere of horror, fear and loneliness in a desert city. The sound design is beyond praise. 10 out of 10.

    The game features a gloomy, desolate, disturbing atmosphere. It includes intimidating enemies like the Grey Children, Mumblers, Air Screamers, Groaners and Puppet Nurses/Doctors. A mind-blowing plot, with eerie environments and dark places. The super creepy music    Silent Hill is a landmark game for the survival horror genre.     - music really adds to the horror atmosphere and the fear factor. All kinds of creepy tracks and sound effects to increase tension. - some of the puzzles were too hard imo. I have no knowledge of the astral signs, so there was no chance I could've solved that puzzle. I wouldn't even know what to search up since I didn't know those images were of astral signs. - combat was    Good

    - music really adds to the horror atmosphere and the fear factor. All kinds of creepy tracks and sound effects to increase tension.

    - the fog and visual design of the environments were done very well. Made it all extra scary.

    - the story was mysteries which kept me wanting to know what was happening. New characters Harry came across also added to the mystery, like the nurse.

    - Voice acting was actually quite good, except for some of the awkward pauses they put between lines.

    Bad

    - lack of map in Nowhere had me very frustrated. Every corridor looked the same, every door looked the same. Backtracking was annoying.

    muy buen juego d terror . en mi opinión creo q le falta un par d tipos de enemigos más y un par d bosses más para llegar al 10 . aunque el juego es bastante corto y tampoco supone un gran problema . el final bueno es increíble pero es difícil d conseguir , y el malo es bastante triste podrían haberlo hecho un poco mejor xd .

    Silent Hill è un gioco che ha un età, ma che riesce ancora a spaventare nonostante la sua grafica e questo non è poco. Il primo di un ottima serie, il primo silent hill crea le basi per una serie di giochi horror basati più sulla psicologia e offre una buona storia horror con vari finali è un ottima atmosfera che raramente si può trovare nei titoli moderni. Ottimo Gioco!

    Sure it's not like Resident Evil, Silent Hill is a psychologically frightening hidden horror and is the number one mediocrity game, it's definitely so stunning that a real horror wants to take it without question.

    And God, the soundtrack. Akira Yamaoka is a master of his craft, no doubt. HUGE mention for the "Not Tomorrow" OST. This guy alone built a certain idetity for the series when it comes to beats.

    There are a few things that keep me from giving this title a higher rating, though.

    For starters, I think the voice acting was overall, OK, but it certainly could've been better. There are some dialogue lines in which the intonation just felt... weird.

    The game also slows down so much near the end, it had me wishing it'd just get over with it.
    You basically run around an otherworldly labyrinth collecting a series of key items, and solving some rather difficult, consecutive puzzles, as you uncover a lot more about the town's secrets (which is the good part about all that).
    It can be really annoying to run around with no map, nor direction for over an hour if you're not in the best of your days; which I was, by the way.

    Speaking of puzzles, they're well designed, and can also be frustratingly difficult to solve; like the piano and zodiac puzzles for instance. You can feel extremely smart by solving them, yet extremely dumb for looking them up on the internet, or thinking so hard about them. They're tough, though, really.

    Unfortunately, I achieved the bad ending, which was almost like a joke ending, and I didn't like that at all. It's a real slap to the face to play a game for over ten hours, just to get a stupid, sarcastic ending as a reward. It should've been just straight bad.
    You might argue I should've explored the game more, but I tell you, I really did. Actually most, if not all of the ending's requirements are located at the final resort area, which is filled by monsters that wouldn't leave you alone for a minute.
    I still ran towards every corner and looked for every spot I could explore, but unfortunately I missed the requirements. I wish the game was more clear as to what items or actions could change the ending; it's all very non-intuitive.

    I'm not a fan of multiple endings anyways, I pretty much prefer a solid finale as to what really happened, but I can appreciate what this game offered for it's time.

    I'm glad I got to experience this classic. While not my favorite horror game, it is still a respectable horror nonetheless, and its heavy atmosphere and psychological pression stays with me even after I beat it.

Отличный интересный непростой сюжет. Я впервые встречаюсь с хоррор игрой, в которой действительно интересная сюжетная линия.Это ШЕДЕВР! Хоть игра и вышла 23 года назад, ей есть чем удивить новых игроков. Потрясающий саундтрек, прослушанный мною неоднократно, атмосфера ужаса и одиночества в безлюдном туманном городе, полным жутких монстров, которые только и хотят напасть на главного героя. Отличный интересный непростой сюжет. Я впервые встречаюсь с хоррор игрой, в которой действительно интересная сюжетная линия. Неплохая боевая система, уж тем более для 1999 года. К слову найдутся современные игры с управлением хуже, чем здесь. На определённом сюжетном моменте игра в слёзы бросает, а для меня это единичные случаи. Это одна из немногих игр, которые остаются в памяти, и хочется перепроходить её снова и снова. Уже прошел игру два раза, всем советую, кто ещё не играл бегом устанавливать.     Silent Hill crafts a wonderfully tense, delightfully unsettling horror atmosphere thanks to the sum of its parts. The foggy, abandoned town feels quiet and vast, rewarding exploration with plenty of resources, weapons and optional content, whilst simultaneously feeling claustrophobic and dangerous thanks to the various neverending hostile creatures lurking within the city. Hidden by the thick layer of fog that permeates the map, an unnerving sound cue alerts the player of their presence when nearby, imbuing the whole experience in a constant state of creeping danger. Alas, this atmospheric terror doesn't translate very well in combat, with only a handful of enemies posing a real threat, as well as severely lacking, bland boss fights. Nonetheless, the journey remains overall enjoyable thanks to interesting environmental puzzles and charming riddles that require an engaging level of lateral creative thinking. The story, a gritty blend of visceral human drama and real supernatural demonic concepts, is narrated in a cryptic manner which adds to the obscure mood of the game, and unveils its twisted secrets through multiple ending with different requirements, but most characters are not interesting or explored nearly enough to make their tribulations really impactful.    … Expand

    Surprisingly good for a playstation game, that being said, unlike silent hill 2/3, the flaws in this one are actually kinda annoying, and i probably wouldnt have played it if it wasnt a required play for silent hill 3.

    Obra prima, essas são as palavras que definem Silent Hill, o jogo é muito legal, ele consegue te deixar tenso e com medo do pode ocorrer conforme você avança na história, até hoje foi um dos poucos jogos que me causaram tensão durante a gameplay. Outro ponto interessante de se notar é que os personagens também são muito bons, e fazem você ter interesse em saber porque eles estão ondeObra prima, essas são as palavras que definem Silent Hill, o jogo é muito legal, ele consegue te deixar tenso e com medo do pode ocorrer conforme você avança na história, até hoje foi um dos poucos jogos que me causaram tensão durante a gameplay. Outro ponto interessante de se notar é que os personagens também são muito bons, e fazem você ter interesse em saber porque eles estão onde estão no jogo. A história do jogo também é boa e te prende, quanto mais você avança, mais você quer avançar. Eu particularmente gostei bastante da trilha sonora do jogo, achei todas as músicas boas e colocadas exatamente no momento certo. However, I was blown away at how well this game has aged. The story and setting are fantastic and the puzzle solving fits so well into the atmosphere they set. The graphics of course are old but for me personally when it comes to horror games sometimes the “worse” looking ones tend to be some of the best horror games.     Still one of my favorite games. Its, like most survival horror games of the time, way too hard. Also, extremely confusing, i never beat it as a teen because i never knew where to go and what to do. I did it later i college. The SH atmosphere is just amazing.

    From the inexplicable sobbing of an unseen child in a blood-stained school hall to the loud rattling of an invisible "something" underneath the floorboards that you're standing on, the game never sinks into predictability. Imagine all of this while never quite being able to see past arm's length into the darkness.
