    i must say that this is the ultimate final fantasy, place that shares of course with VI and VII. It is incredible how squaresoft actually could make this awesome game for the PS one. A must play, and a close to perfection game

    Best Final Fantasy Game. A real RPG, with a very clever skill system, a great storyline, wonderful graphics (not only for PS one) and the best soundtrack of all games of all time.

    Just like FF4 this game is totally underrated. The atmosphere/ environments are my favourite in the whole franchise and when you add the great plot to it the effects are amazing. The characters as always are great and so too is the soundtrack. The only issue I have with the game is the slow combat speed making battles last very long. It's not enough to drop the overall score though.

    Ottimo Final Fantasy anche se probabilmente il più facile della serie, ma comunque uno dei migliori.
    Final Fantasy 9 è una celebrazione della saga che riporta in vita luoghi e nemici già visti nei titoli più vecchi, un gran bel gioco con alcuni dei migliori personaggi della serie, che però purtroppo si perde per strada a metà della storia, dove la narrazione diventa confusa e cambia    Ottimo Final Fantasy anche se probabilmente il più facile della serie, ma comunque uno dei migliori.

    Well done game that was brought back to the Final Fantasy roots of it all. For me personally, Zidane is not one of my fav. protagonist but the rest of the game was great. Besides, he is better that Vaan lol.

    A true masterpiece, I recommend people not to be fooled by its artistic appearance, the story is very emotional and good, it does not fall into the pretentious or superficial. FF7 and FF8 are very good games, but I don't think they are comparable to this game.

    Final Fantasy IX is simply the game with one of the best stories I've had the opportunity to enjoy.
    Given the limitations of the time, the game is still very pleasant to play mainly because of the plot.

    My favorite Final Fantasy of all time, and it righteously deserves to be one of the greatest JRPGs of all time. Colorful cast of characters, and they are likable with depth storylines and backgrounds. The OST is one of the finest in the FF series with "Melodies of Life," "Unfathomed Reminiscence," and "Loss of Me."

    Along with "You're Not Alone" and "Eiko's Theme." Great use of the Chocobo Hot 'N'Cold minigame, and the Triad minigame is not bad -- only VIII's is superior. The dialogue between characters is both cute and humorous.

    The Eidolons' (summons) animations are also fun to watch. Trance Mode is fun to experience during gameplay. Also enjoyed the active time sequence events, and the CGI was great for its time. Highly recommend.    … Expand

    While many people say that FF7 was the best game of the series, for me its cleartly this masterpiece. While the game look cartoonish, the story gets very dark.

The game is almost a 10 as it is, I only would've liked that it had towns with interesting cultures in the other continents with more unexpected things happening.     El mundo en que transcurre la historia es precioso, cada ubicación tiene su propia magia, personajes increíbles, cada uno con sus propios objetivos y miedos, un sistema de combate clásico que nunca envejece, todo esto junto a una buenísima historia y una banda sonora    Para mi el mejor final fantasy jamás hecho, y uno de los mejores juegos de la historia, es mi juego favorito junto al 12.

    I really love this game. It makes me feel so warm and comfy to play. The humor is great, the world is great, the characters are so loveable, the score is magnificent. Its just a really well made game. Square Soft sort of effortlessly pushed out these types of games during their golden age.

This is a simpler title, one that actually went back and took elements of previous final fantasy's in terms of both gameplay and world building.     FF9 war mein Einstieg in die Reihe - und hat daher immer einen ganz besonderen Platz in meinem Herzen. Allerdings muss trotz aller Nostalgie gesagt werden, dass es sich hierbei um einen der besten wenn nicht sogar den Besten Ableger der Serie handelt. Die Charaktere sind alle durchweg glaubwürdig in ihrer Motivation und die Zusammensetzung der Truppe wächst einem mit zunehmender SpielzeitFF9 war mein Einstieg in die Reihe - und hat daher immer einen ganz besonderen Platz in meinem Herzen. Allerdings muss trotz aller Nostalgie gesagt werden, dass es sich hierbei um einen der besten wenn nicht sogar den Besten Ableger der Serie handelt. Die Charaktere sind alle durchweg glaubwürdig in ihrer Motivation und die Zusammensetzung der Truppe wächst einem mit zunehmender Spielzeit immer weiter ans Herz. Die Geschichte entwickelt sich von einem kleinen Abenteuer hin zu einem die komplette Welt umspannenden Thriller voller Intrigen und Verrat. Aber auch die antagonisten durchleben eine Charakterentwicklung die oft den Antrieb jeglichen Handelns verständlich macht. Der Grafikstil rundet das ganze in meinen Augen ab. Der verspielte Steampunk-Look passt als Hommage an die ganze FF-Reihe sehr gut ins Gesamtbild. Dieser Teil löst aber auch durch seine detailverliebte Welt und seine lebendigen Bewohner immer ein Gefühl von „Heimkommen“ in mir aus. Und 23 Jahre nach meiner ersten Reise durch Terra komme ich jedes Jahr wieder gerne her.… Expand

    This game was part of my childhood... If I could rate it 1000 I would. Story, characters, gameplay, music, scenarios are wonderful! The only downside is the platinum requirements... jumping rope 1000 times is ridiculous! But that doesn't take away the shine of this wonderful jrpg

    Final Fantasy IX is a gem! It will probably always be my favorite video game. Touching, engaging story, colorful characters, and of course music made this game perfect. The gameplay itself has been polished to perfection. Square gave this game a lot of heart.
