    It doesn't take long for the novelty to wear off. As soon as you actually start playing the game it's not hard to see that the randomness and offbeat sense of style and humor mean nothing in the face of the dull gameplay. It's clear that the developers of "Shutshimi" tried way too hard to make a unique game, as opposed to a satisfying one.

    The concept is simple. Shoot through a wave,    It doesn't take long for the novelty to wear off. It's clear that the developers of "Shutshimi" tried way too hard to make a unique game, as opposed to a satisfying one.

    The concept is simple. Shoot through a wave, pick up a random power up, and do it again until you reach a boss. The hook here is that you have no idea what these power ups do at first. Some may only last a single wave, while others stick with you. It's all about randomly experimenting until you begin to recognize what each one does. Then you pick the ones that work the best for you in order to get farther.

    Death puts you back at the beginning, making this game feel part rogue-like. That wouldn't be so much of a bad thing had getting through all of those waves of bland enemies in order to get to the boss wasn't so boring. Once you get past the initial novelty of their looks (which happens quickly) these guys become a chore to fight through. The waves themselves only last for seconds, but it feels like so much longer when you are actually playing it.

    Shutshimi tries to increase it's longevity with some extra modes and difficulties. The boss rush mode is easily the best part as you get to experience the best aspects of the game without going through so much of it's worst to get there. There are also plenty of unlockables to hunt down by getting the right power ups. Of course getting to see everything the game has to offer requires actually playing it. Something I can't really recommend doing.

    Shutshimi is one of those games most people will only pick up because it "looks funny" and ultimately sit down moments later feeling ripped off. Those who actually take the time to fully experience Shutshimi's gameplay are going to put themselves through a lot of monotony for little reward. It's a shame because there is a decent little challenge here and some goofy ideas. However for all it's humor and uniqueness it never manages to provide an entertaining experience to hook players.    … Expand

    I am not digging the game. Not varied enough in wackyness to be good like WarioWare and not a good vertical shooter like Aqua Kitty. The "LOL so random" aesthetics doesn't work for me.

    I can't understand why there's so much bitterness with this little game. Of course it doesn't have much depth, but that's the point! It's a nice game to kill some time and it's a perfect fit for a handheld device. I think people got frustrated because they were expecting a bigger game on their PS Plus that month and that's fair, but if you look past that there are some hours of fun to beI can't understand why there's so much bitterness with this little game.     Un juego simple hasta decir basta. Shot'em'up falto de contenido, poca variedad de enemigos, jefes finales sin carisma, y corto, muy corto. Lo mejor su sentido del humor y su gamberrismo latente. Pero no es una opción seria si buscáis profundidad, dificultad o duración.

    The rapid, mini-game-like design of Shutshimi makes it ideal for quick bursts of play. Even then, the game is so captivating that it's hard to put down even after you've spent an hour or two playing.

    Rather than trying to fit itself into a specific genre category, Shutshimi aims to make the existing genre fit around it. It's a bold statement to make, but it's one that the game's developers are able to pull off with aplomb.
