This is a game that lives up to its name, this is truly one of the best portable RPG gaming experiences I've had. Brought to us by the creative minds of Tasty Poison Games, based outta South Africa. Pocket RPG is a dungeon crawling, action game with all 3D characters, areas, and enemies. You can take your pick between 3 character classes, all with different weapons, abilities, and powerups. This is a game that lives up to its name, this is truly one of the best portable RPG gaming experiences I've had. You start out choosing between between 3 main characters: the "hero" who wields 2 broadswords, an archer (with infinite arrows,of course),and the female character,a magician (also called a "Mage"). You pick a spot on the map and fight your way through hordes of monsters. On the way, keep an eye out for coins hidden in trees and treasure chests. Throughout your gameplay your character will "level up" making you stronger and giving you access to more powerful abilities and weapons. Once the map is complete, you can use the coins you earned to purchase shop items such as uniforms, and weapons.
Pocket RPG started out as an iOS game and was later ported to Vita, the transition was made perfectly I believe. The one thing I like about iOS ports is that the control scheme is always simple, due to the lack of buttons. Once buttons are added, they usually go with twin-stick controls, left stick to move, right stick to aim/attack, simple.

Good: variety of characters, huge maps, easy upgrade system
Bad: could have used more attack options other than main weapons
Overall: perfect example of what an iOS-to-vita port should look and play like. The ease of use and player friendly controls made this a smooth, simple, and fun experience from the start. Do what the sign below says...

The most painful aspect of Pocket RPG is the fact that the developers were clearly onto something with this game's design.

Clearly, that'll be cold comfort for anyone hoping for Diablo-lite on the Vita; as I said before, it's not that. But Pocket RPG is fun enough on its own merits rather than being disappointed by what it isn't, it's worth enjoying it simply taking the time and appreciating it for what it is.

Pocket RPG does everything the name implies. It’s addictive and simple role-playing action right in your pocket. The price of admission seems a little steep though, especially for a title that only lasts a couple of hours.
