Not really the fast paced twin stick shooter I was expecting. More of a puzzle game. Game can be tedious when you have to redo a lot of things if you die but the sections are relatively small. Lots of fun in short bursts and plays well on Vita. Good time waster that isn't very hard.

Fell in love with PixelJunk games. After amazing tower-defense Monsters, Shooter is another fantastic game that fits PS Vita perfectly, offers huge amount of content and hours of fun and addicting gameplay. Main campaign with lots of shooting action including challenging boss fights and probably even more logic/puzzle elements. There is certainly no shortage of variation here, differentFell in love with PixelJunk games. There is certainly no shortage of variation here, different locations, many enemy types, various suits for your ship with new features that change the game completely. Going deeper and deeper into the core of the planet, rescuing scientist and even though this game is not primarily about the story, thanks to the found survivors who will tell you the info of what's going on, this game is also surprisingly quite atmospheric. When I finished the campaign I was ready to give this a solid 8, but after I tried the multiplayer, things got even better. Another incredibly catchy part of the game, yet very different, this time more tactical and action oriented than the single player, but probably even even more fun, addicting and competitive. Pity that connection breaks so easily, that's my only gripe, but other than that this is another PixelJunk masterpiece for PS Vita and one of the best games for that platform. 9/10 Expand

Most twin-stick shooters put you in the midst of fast-paced action. Double Eleven doesn't go that route with this game. It's a slower-paced puzzle shooter. One that is well made, but might not satisfy everyone.

It's got quite a bit of content to keep you occupied. Multiplayer is dead, but plenty of single-player missions can keep you coming back to collect all of the things hidden in

It's got quite a bit of content to keep you occupied. Multiplayer is dead, but plenty of single-player missions can keep you coming back to collect all of the things hidden in the levels and getting a better score. Of course that all hangs on whether or not you can get into the gameplay. Something I personally had a hard time doing. Levels aren't very long, but consist of several rooms. The amount of trial and error that is often required to get through the game killed it for me.

You'll have to manipulate elements (lava, water, ect.) in order to get through. Levels act as one big puzzle. The goal is to figure out how to use the elements in order to rescue all of the scientists. Mixing these elements together is a regular occurrence. The results are often unstable. Accidently overheating your ship and losing control is a regular problem I encountered when dealing with lava. It make deaths feel often really cheap. Overall though it's not a hard game. It's just that things feel like they go on for way too long. Especially the boss battles thanks to their overly large health bars.

Things can get tedious when you have to inevitably repeat actions after a failure. It's the type of game I wanted to quickly breeze through, but one that kept me longer than I wanted. Despite the fact that I didn't particularly like the game I can't say that it's a bad one. The game works and is very well made. The gameplay didn't hook me, but I can see many appreciating the this more puzzle-centric take on the twin-stick shooter genre.

The only one twin-stick shooter I know that ask you to think twice before you shoot which is interesting and welcome change. Exploring depths of Apoxus Prime was fun.

Such a good game! Much fun to be had on this on the Vita as you pick up and play. I would love another Pixel junk shooter. Too bad too many people don't give these games a chance!

Much more than a shooter, PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is an ingenious game of elemental manipulation.

I love the colorful environments, the little messages from explorers, and the sense of satisfaction you get from clearing a level quickly. Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate plods along at a slower pace than you'd expect from the shooter genre, but its style and adventuresome attitude make it endearing and perfect for PlayStation Vita.
