Beating this game was utter hell. I've never strained myself so much trying to beat something before. Besides from the difficulty, the game is annoyingly repetitive. Half the bosses are re-skins, and most of the areas are just an obstacle copy-pasted 5 or 6 times, then you move on to the next obstacle which is again copy-pasted 5 or 6 times. Not worth the effort.

This game is extremely unfair. There's knock back, enemies placed near pits to make you fall off, ghosts placed in the middle of jumps to make you fall, frogs that hit you into water and make you drown, and enemies placed to be hidden until it's too late. There's also nothing unique or ground breaking here, either. Despite that, it's oddly addicting. It's only 5 dollars, so give it a shot if you want. But like I said, don't expect anything really good. Expand

Ninja Senki DX boasts masterful level design, with fun and challenging gameplay ideal for fans of platformers of old. Just don't expect to find anything particularly groundbreaking or unique.

I do think, however, that if you're going to draw so heavily from those old games, it should be in the service of something more ambitious than simply imitating your influences and calling it a day. And that's why I don't see the point of Ninja Senki DX's existence: it aspires to nothing more than to borrow liberally from those old games, without in any way building on them or looking at them in a different light.
