Released in February 2015, "Minutes" is a complex, puzzle game by one-man indy developer Red Phantom Games. Founded 3 years ago by a 17 year industry vet who, among many other gigs, has even worked at Codemasters And Sony!, so this guy knows how to make games!
A stark departure from traditional puzzle games, "Minutes" is action packed in its own way, challenging you to use your brain at every turn. You play as a circle expanding and shrinking to squeeze your way through each map with the ultimate goal of reaching a "perfect score". But to do so, you must collect all of the point-accumulating orange bullets. While dodging the black ones which you negative points, quickly leading to a game over, at 60 levels in all, they only become harder as the game progresses.
Graphics are as smooth as can be for a game consisting largley of circles and lines, and the music scores keeps you on you toes with some upbeat techno. "Mins" can be easily controlled using just the analog sticks: right to move, and left to change size.
There is also a "Daily Challenge" which can be played online when (or if) the campaign become too easy for you.

Good: unique idea, artsy feel, great music choices
Bad: the circle/line dancing runs its course of "fun" long before the levels reach double digits
Verdict: a challenging modern, puzzler to any gamer who is so inclined, great to play while waiting for an appointment...which you ended up scheduling because of the game.

Minutes is a beautiful looking game that runs perfect on Vita that has that abstract "indie" look. Unfortunately the gameplay is kind of boring. The gameplay is kind of like playing a bullet hell game without shooting. Avoid black stuff and absorb colored stuff. There is not a lot to this game that isn't in the first level. Unfortunately the gameplay is kind of boring. The gameplay is kind of like playing a bullet hell game without shooting. Avoid black stuff and absorb colored stuff. There is not a lot to this game that isn't in the first level. The game just introduces more shapes and more stuff on screen at once. You do unlock one time powerups, that you need for a higher scores, that makes things more interesting but it is perplexing that you have to unlock them. Overall this game is well done but it just doesn't hold my interest for more than a minute. Expand

In other words, Minutes is exactly the kind of game that should work on the Vita — the sort of thing you squeeze in between classes and during short commutes. But it just doesn't work that way.

Its simplicity counts against it in the long term. [Issue#155, p.131]

An effective concept of arcade game but just for... a few minutes.
