Review sites tend to be biased these days, so I tend to ignore them. MeiQ is a fun little Dungeon Crawler RPG that has it's own set of light humor and entertaining features. Customization can play a huge role in making the best load-out, but the idea is the same ultimately, train and grind. The game isn't the best Idea Factory has sent our way, but it is nice that they are at least releasing the game to us. Fair warning, it is not a hard game, not is it a complex one. It serves as a good intro to the Dungeon Crawler Genre, and if people do not try to place expectations first, a good, well rounded game. Expand

This is a very inventive and unique take on the genre. The environments are flatter than Connie's chest, but the music is amazing, the world is well-built (while still not the very best), and the characters aren't just cut-outs of different waifu stereotypes (well, they kind of are but at least I can't predict everything they're gonna say 5 textboxes before they say it).

MeiQ is engaging to the player due to its surprising depth, so I hope people go ahead and try it out!

The thing is, it all gets old fast. There are only so many times you can grind your way through battle after battle in a quest to level up so you can beat each dungeon's end boss before it starts feeling like you're just doing the same thing over and over again with little reward.

While it manages to offer decent characters and an interesting battle system, MeiQ: Labyrinth Of Death is a disappointment overall. With so many strong entries in the dungeon-crawl genre already, one that only goes half the distance is impossible to recommend.

Far from being a bad game, MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death doesn't really try to be much more than simply competent. Its systems and ideas are all strong, but they're tackled fairly gracelessly and just end up feeling rote after a while. I didn't have a bad time with the game, but it's hard to not just recommend playing something like 'Demon Gaze' or even Idea Factory's own 'Trillion' instead for those looking for a great Dungeon Crawler or JRPG on Vita.
