    I had watched a gameplay video on youtube before buying and it looked like it could be worth the under $10 price based on what I read in the first user's review. My review is for the vita version so not sure how experiences will differ between platforms but on the vita I feel responsive mechanics, forgiving and intelligent smoothness, exciting, and just plain FUN. It's actually feels like the best mechanics of any game like Vigilante 8 genre I've ever played. It was intuitive for me to pick up after one glance at the control scheme in options. I look forward to unlocks and challenges with such a solid fluidity in play. If you are a vita owner, I highly recommend you get yourself a hand grip if you don't already, mine does not have triggers so I can't comment on those but it makes playing games a better experience. Perhaps Sony could construct and release an offer to play online with other vita owners.… Expand

    This game was originally a launch title on the original Xbox system. This HD rehash stays pretty true to the original...the graphics are akin to a zany cartoon, and are quite nice, though some of the (hilarious) character videos look a bit off from the original.

    Game play is shallow, but fun: there are 3 game modes, a flag rally, a checkpoint race, and standard death match. One notable change from the original is the incorporation of a damage model to the cars. All vehicles have a health bar now, and only explode after sustaining a certain amount of damage, where as in the original, almost everything killed you after 1 hit. This slows down the game play imo and I have mixed feelings about it; an old-school mode would have been nice, though this change does make the game much more accessible to new comers.

    The game contains several different characters to choose from and all have unique pros and cons, as well as a unique weapon. There are a few unlockable boss characters and funny animated shorts featuring the games "contestants", as well as some fun trophies to earn for your psn profile, so there is are at least a few things to stick around for.

    The game has adjustable match settings, including AI difficulty which is great for those who find the default difficulty a bit too easy. Lack of online multiplayer is a big downer for this game, but it is multi platform cross buy, and is relatively inexpensive. Also, it is one of the only games currently on next gen systems to feature split-screen multiplayer gaming...it ain't online, but it ain't bad. Surprisingly, the game does make use of the ps4's unique controller; your characters start of race taunt plays through the speaker in the control pad, though even at full blast the volume was too quiet imo.

    Overall, this is not a game for everyone, and it's not going to be something you sit down for a marathon gaming session with, but it is fun and flavorful. The game is peppered with humor throughout...from a bulldozer driving Elvis impersonator, to a racy dominatrix, to Wiley coyote style sight gags. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to be a homicidal cartoon, or if your a fan of the original game, I encourage you to give this game a shot.    … Expand

    Cel Damage HD definitely has the fun part down, but without anything that keeps you coming back to it, it's hard to give it a full-throated recommendation.
