Simply put, the Vita version is the adequate port of a very good game. It's amazing to be able to play Borderlands 2 anywhere you like. I think it's a technical wonder and can look past a couple of hick ups with frame rates. I wish I could port my Xbox 360 game saves over though !

The first thing I noticed when I created my brand-new Psycho character was that the game looks pretty good on the handheld. So far (I just got to Tundra Express) I have enjoyed the game, of course there were the occasional moments of frustration when I died whilst being crippled, and felt that I missed due to the controls (buts it's probably just me being bad at games :P ), or another moment of rage was the crash in the Bloodshot Stronghold, but the second time I got past the checkpoint without problem. The port itself is astonishing, having played the PS3 version I am familiar with the occasional frame stutters, but so far I haven't noticed any major drops in FPS. The big thing people kept talking about was enemy pop, most of the time you have 3 bug guys, but there are quite a few locations where I got 6 psychos running at me, so its nothing game breaking. I have not tried co-op so I cannot comment on that part of the game, only to say that Borderlands 2 the game itself is very very fun in co-op. The game itself is Borderlands 2, which was a great game, and you get a lot of content in this package with the two DLC, and it's well worth the money. Overall I'm thoroughly enjoying the game, and I highly recommend it, also play the Psycho Character class he is awesome. Expand

Borderlands 2 for the PS Vita is something that I never thought would be possible. It is one of the best ports that I have ever seen, along with Morrowind on the Xbox. It is basically Borderlands 2 on the PS3, with a few lag spikes thrown around here and there. But, still, amazing. I don't think it is perfect, but I think it is one of the best games that the PS Vita has to offer. 9/10.

Amazing that this game is on the Vita, and it looks great. It's very fun to play, has a LOT of content included, but the only downside I found was the inconsistent frame rate. It may suddenly dip in certain scenarios, which can get a bit annoying but it doesn't take away from the overall great experience of the game. Recommended!

I haven't taken this game out of my Vita since it launched. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score is because there is only half the DLC available. I adore the cross-save function with the PS3 version. I have one of each character leveled up to at least six, with my Psycho at level 41 and playing TVHM. I am addicted all over again, and my addiction follows me around in my pocket.

While the draw distance is impressive, other subtle visual touches that made the game stand out are missing. You may notice that the moon, a major visual element in the game, isn't rendered right, or that the lights on Maliwan guns don't blink when you reload them. Even the higher rarity items seem to have no reflection map programmed (i.e. they're not "shiny"). Still it still is Borderlands 2, and will most likely scratch your Borderlands 2 itch. The only reason to have this is if you already have a ps3 or ps4 to transfer your game save file to the screen after you're done traveling. If you want this game by itself on the vita, i don't recommend it. it runs like hell and the frame rate is atrocious. Buy it only if you're obsessed with BL2 and can't go out without playing it.

Admittedly, the initial control scheme set up the game starts you off with was uncomfortable, and it did take a bit to get used to the interface, but once I got this down and figured out how to switch the control scheme to fit my preference, I found that I quickly adapted to playing this FPS on my Vita just as I had with Killzone: Mercenary.

*Ultimately, this is a personal review and is meant to be viewed as such. I am not claiming that anyone and everyone will enjoy this Vita port of the PS3 game, but I am simply providing my opinion on the game as a standalone/portable FPS.

The game is huge, has tons of replay value, has plenty of content, the graphics appear to be more than adequate for a handheld console game, and the controls are honestly not all that bad after several brief sessions of playing. Furthermore, I have had very minor issues with lag and/or crashing and only several minor issues with glitching.

I'm giving this a 5/5 as it met my expectations, is, in my opinion, just as fun and playable as Killzone: Mercenary, which I thought was absolutely amazing especially as its a portable game, and has tons of game play to offer. If you like FPS games, have a Vita, and have a few bucks to throw out for this, I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Controlling the game is more uncomfortable than actually difficult or frustrating. Occasionally I accidentally tap the right-hand side of the screen with my thumb and throw a grenade unintentionally. That is my only real gripe about the controls. It is harder to spot enemies in the distance because of the small screen and the frame-rate is lower than on console. I consider these issues to be an acceptable compromise for being able to play on a handheld.

I would have preferred all expansions to have been included, as I was halfway through Tiny Tina's adventure when I imported my save and found that I needed to start a different expansion or continue with my second play-through of the main campaign. If you love Borderlands 2 and feel like playing it again on your Vita then you shouldn't be disappointed. Just bear in mind the inherent limitations of the Vita.

As a huge fan of the borderlands games, I was surprisingly happy with this port. The controls take a little bit to get used to after playing on console, and you will have to fiddle with the sensitivity a little bit. But on the go this game is invaluable. This is the game for the Vita that could transform it and get better full games on the console. Now to wait for The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth

As far as I'm concerned, Borderlands 2 is one of my favourite games of all time: great shooting mechanics, fun RPG/FPS hybrid gameplay, and an absolute ton of things to do, not even including the density of DLC expansions. On those merits alone, it's great... on home consoles and PC at least. On the Vita, it's a slightly different story. Right off the bat though, the one thing I am impressed with in this version is the fact that the entire game was made playable on a handheld system such as the PS Vita, no cutbacks on main game content or anything! Because of that though, the performance of this version massively sets it back from every other version of the game (having played the PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC versions of the game): lower draw distance, noticeably lower model detail, highly inconsistent frame rates, periodical crashes (mostly from occasionally entering your inventory, which sucks because you'll be going in and out of it A LOT). All of these plague the Vita version, which is a shame, because it does slightly hamper the frantic pacing of the game, compared to other versions. To say it's unplayable however, is an overstatement; it's still good fun, it's portable Borderlands to put it simply. It just should have had more time or effort for refinement, even if it meant further graphical sacrifice, or otherwise. Expand

This game is enormous! A fantastic game to have on a portable console. Almost feels like your taking your home console with you when your playing this on the go. The game isn't without its technical flaws but can easily overlooked when you consider the overall enjoyment of having a game of this calibre on your Vita.

This game is a massive achievement on the vita, people say it's unplayable which is so far from the truth. Yes you get the odd frame rate issue but this is the full game in your hands!
Graphics wise it's very crisp and maybe they could of lowered the resolution to counter act the frame rate issues? But they are few and far between, mainly in sanctuary.
Controls work well with the back

Controls work well with the back pad a simple touch gets you sprinting along nicely.
Only gripe is the small text in the menus but nothing major. You just have to accept its s console game squeezed down to play on a handheld and done rather well.

Borderlands Two for PS Vita is an amazing game. It has amazing graphics, and, for six DLC's it is pretty cheap on the PlayStation Store; It's only $19.99. I think it is very under rated. I have heard complaints about how it is so big, 4.6 GB's.. OF COURSE IT'S BIG! it's freaking Borderlands! It should be enough that it runs on PS VITA at all! Dumbed Down? No, This is the Full Borderlands 2 experience minus a few DLC´s. is it any good? Yes of course it is Borderlands, but even tho the game is fantastic, it could have used more time in development. Now you can argue that the Vita ain´t powerful enough, and well the Vita ain´t as powerful as a PS3, it could have done alot more! i enjoyed this game but recommending it is hard toDumbed Down? But, all the console content is there, and its the entire borderlands 2 game! Overall, not bad but certainly not fantastic Expand

Since I can't give this game a 7.5, but feel it's closer to an 8 than a 7, it gets an 8 from me. I have this game on the PC, xbox 360, and PS3, and have played it on all three systems, but mostly the PS3 version, which is the first version I had, and the one I played this game the most on. I have this game on the PC, xbox 360, and PS3, and have played it on all three systems, but mostly the PS3 version, which is the first version I had, and the one I played this game the most on. To me, all the versions are at least solid 9's for me, but the PS3 version is a no-questions-asked 10/10 for me. It crammed so many of my favorite gaming elements into one package: looting, fps/action role playing (lots of character building with all the upgrade tree choices, attribute enhancements with the "badass tokens" as you earn as you complete the games many challenges... sure, it's kind of rpg lite, but more rpg than, say, a Bioshock type game), looting, dungeon crawling, oh, and have I mentioned LOOTING!!!

This game has enough looting to make any Diablo/Blizzard or Elder Scrolls/Bethesda game fan creaming his pants! The game has literally MILLIONS of different possible types of guns! It uses procedural code with randomly generating algorithms to piece together a large variety of brands, models, builds, element effect, mods, etc just with the physical attributes of the guns, but also pieces together random strings to generate different (often times hilariously obviously randomly generated, yet still badass) names for each gun... Of course this is for non-uniques, as many extremely rare and all legendary weapons are not randomly generated...only the locations they are spawned in are, when they aren't a predetermined mission reward. And enemies you take down are even all spawned using (and thereby eventually dropping for your possible taking) a unique weapon. And there's no telling what other rare or powerful goodies they might ever drop!

This deep take the devs took on the game's looting system is just the beginning of what makes this game one of my all-time favorites. While one of the few downsides for me is that game's story and characters aren't the most compelling or memorable for me, it's the overall wacky and humorous tone of it all that sort of makes the sum of all it's somewhat meh parts actually add up to a pretty interesting world, and even if some of the characters feel stiff, they are still hilarious. Some of them are even quite memorable (particularly a certain crazy tweaked out little genius inventor lab rat girl, and this morbidly obese hillbilly cousin of your inbred mechanic. There is enough there in the wackiness department to make the world engrossing in its own VERY distinct and unique way. The cartoonish cell shaded graphics seem to turn off many, but for me, it's just another part of the tone. And I find many areas have wonderful art design in this game.

But above all, in the PS3 version, was the GAMEPLAY was so fast-paced and nonstop, yet it rarely got bogged down by frame rate drop issues. This is where I start my contrast-critique of this vita port, as contrasted to its PS3 version. ALLLL those other things I mentioned loving about the PS3 version (and ostensibly from what I played of the PC and XBOX 360 versions) are still absolutely THERE, all packed tightly and solidly into this little handheld version. BUT, the GAMEPLAY... oy... well that's where mostly everyone's main gripes come from. And while I don't agree that it should be enough to detract from how impressive all that other stuff all being there in the vita version is, I can't just stick my head in the sand on this one just because I'm such a hardcore self-admitted fanboy of the game.

Not only during pretty much most enemy encounters involving more than like five or six enemies at once, but also during your time in areas full of NPCs -- namely sanctuary -- you will notice some JARRING moments of frame rate drop. I don't feel like it breaks the game for me, because I love the sum of all it's parts enough to forgive this annoyance, it's sad that I have to give one of the few 10/10 games for me a 7.5, rounded up for metacritic.

What can I say, I still love this, and still, after playing it, do not in any way regret hunting it down until I could find it for as low as $18 (vita games are hard to find in the US now due to limited prints, and finding one under $30 is getting harder by the day). But yeah, the visual downgrade isn't such a drag for me, as I still think it looks good. Honestly, the only gripe I can make about this is that frame rate. And yeah, the touchpad on the back making me throw grenades haphazardly until I found a way to comfortably play without this being an issue was annoying until I got used to it. So yeah, not the port this game deserves, but hell, until we get a switch version, it's the only way to play Borderlands on the Go, in the palms of your hands.

Borderlands 2 on psvita, I liked it, of course there were problems with console overheating, friezes, crashes, etc., at school it is interesting to play those in Brawl Stars, it's just Parasha, got to William, and then abandoned it somehow, then downloaded again 6 days ago, ps5 port will be)

As soon as you are used to the somewhat clumsy controls, Borderlands 2 on PS Vita is again a great adventure that keeps you engaged for more than 50 hours.

Framerate issues and miniature texts bordering on the unreadable indicates that this is (sadly) just a quick and cheap port that’s a far cry from the majesty of the full-fledged versions of the game.

Not so nice to watch, hard to handle and full of glitches, this new entry isn't really what we were waiting for.
