    An absolute abomination. Yes, I know the original is held in high regard, but I never liked it much first time around. Now it looks pathetic, with laughable animations and bland environments. Worse still are the awful controls, with your character slipping and sliding all over the place. Plus, multiple actions (jump, kick, shoot etc) are mapped to one button - unacceptable. Plus, multiple actions (jump, kick, shoot etc) are mapped to one button - unacceptable. Another World is full of instant death traps and enemies you have no way of avoiding first time round, making it a horrible trial and error affair which is constantly beyond unfair. It is a badly designed game that is absolutely no fun to play whatsoever. Just play the infinitely better Flashback - or any other 2D platform adventure game you can find - rather than this awful, obnoxious garbage.… Expand

    A timeless action-adventure game which won't guide you by the hand, but tells subtle story without need of words, and I think that this one you will remember.

    By saying this title is awful is pure madness.
    If you played the original and you loved it, you'll love this too. But it isn't flawless. There's one big problem: controls. There's 6 buttons on the console plus two touch screens so WHY the programmers put the jump and shoot in the same button?! This is awful!

    A part from this, which is the only flaw of the game, the game still remain a masterpiece. Compare this game with some modern game, you can compare it with Limbo: it's a lot of trial and error with a fantastic gameplay.
    If you haven't already played Another World (or Out of this World) you have to remember that you can beat this game in an hour (unless you get stuck in some parts of the game).    … Expand

    I do not feel anything special playing this game, even though it is supposed to be a classic. I appreciate its tacit narrative (the story is captivating, even though there are neither texts nor speeches), but some parts of the game become stupidly hard unless you use a guide. It is somehow similar to the old Prince of Persia games.

    this game is an absolute masterpiece for the ages. period. no obnoxious spastic hyperactive button mashing, no life meter, no score, just pure artistic atmosphere and ingenuity ahead of its time. in a world of game design companies that sought to pile on the next mindless clone of a clone, one single game designer dared to be different, eric chahi.
