"Aeterno Blade" is a 3D, side-scrolling, action packed, revenge quest. You a woman named Freyja, embarking on a epic journey for vengeance against Beladim the evil Lord of Mist who destroyed her entire village include her clan, but even with her powerful weapon, the Aeterno Blade, she still isn't strong enough to defeat him. Freyja enlists the help of Vernia, who teaches her what the Aeterno Blade is, how to use it, and how to unlock it's true power!
Visually, the game is very pleasing to look at, the opening cinematic is beautiful and does a very good job of telling the story and letting you know who the main characters are. Usually when games switches from cutscenes to in-game graphics, there is a painfully obvious dip in quality, with "Aeterno" the transition is a lot smoother. Everything from the character models, light reflecting off the armor, sound effects, reminds you of a fictional Japanese movie with English subtitles. Music is slow and somber until enemies appear and "exiting stuff" happens, giving the player a sense of urgency to react quickly.
As you progress through the game, you recieve various other kinds of assistance in your quest. Vernia will show up as you find new pieces of the "Aeterno Blade" to teach you how to use your new abilities, you will meet new "ally" type characters who will aide you in your journey. Freyjas abilities can also be upgraded to make her more skilled on the battlefield.
Figuring out how to use the time-manipulating mechanics is where the game really shines. It combines elements of puzzle games and action platformers in a way never seen before.

Good: great story, dazzling special effects, easy control scheme for combos
Bad: the side scrolling makes the game world feel "flat" (as the case will all scrollers really)
Verdict: if you enjoy good storytelling and hack n slash swordplay action, "Aterno Blade" is just the game for you.

Despite low expectations, AeternoBlade manages to show some promise in its time manipulating mechanics – especially when they're used to solve puzzles and explore. Ultimately, though, this single strength is compromised by the rest of the package.

If you're desperate for a little hack & slash action on your Vita, I guess you might want to think about Aeternoblade, but otherwise, you can safely miss it.

AeternoBlade is very easily forgettable, and will sooner or later be grouped with all of the other failed metroidvania ideas.
