The rest of the upgrades are woefully underwhelming, extremely poor performance on both graphics settings, nasty graphical glitches that completely break immersion (shinny hair, pop in, non existent shadows etc.).

All this makes the product very hard to say it's an upgrade but this is rather summed up quite well from one of the games corporate slogans "It's not the best choice, it's spacers choice" (nowhere near the best.)

Great game, nobody is disputing it. This is a downgrade. Pure and simple. If you never played it, get the original cheap as it runs locked 60fps. This is an abomination. The original version of the game was a nice, if short and underbaked, spiritual sequel to New Vegas. It was a ton of fun, with deep play choices and interesting characters. OG Outer Worlds was one of my top games when it came out. Highly, highly recommended.

THIS version on the other hand, is a bug-ridden, unoptimized mess. I could not tell you to stay away enough. I'm actually planning

Man it's such a shame that this "upgrade" was such a disappointment. For those fake 10s, 9s, and 8s are not honest, performances issues on performance is terrible. The lighting is so off and the colors seems unreal, face models looks pretty decent but the issues is the bad fps drops is ridiculous. The devs had the gull to charge full price 60 bucks and charge the existing players 10 bucks to upgrade to which that's ridiculous. At this time of writing there has been confirmed patches on the way but when will that be is uncertain. The devs should be ashamed of themselves for charging this upgrade when it should've been free for owners of the game and new players at least 30 bucks but my word the game is so unplayable so my score of this "upgrade" is a 0: From the experiences in the first 10 mins of terrible performance on both modes. The game is a disaster in everyway. Performance, grainy picture, aiming reticle disappearing, lag spikes, stuttering, and oh boy performance. Game has 2 modes. A 60fps and a 30fps. Both run horrible. On PS5, it runs on average in 60fps mode 48-52. In 30fps mode 22-27. In my opinion this was a quick get it out game launch for money and who cares how it plays. Hopefully on PS5 refunds are coming.

    Good-
A decent setting and progression system, standard first person shooting, loading times are faster thanks to SSD.
Bad- Performance issues resulting in major frame rate drops and plenty of crashes, minuscule visual upgrades, lack of accessibility features. Thoughts- In conclusion, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice ends up being a half baked package that doesn’t really justify

In conclusion, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice ends up being a half baked package that doesn’t really justify its price tag. Whatever miniscule upgrades have been done to the experience don’t really amount to much in the grand scheme of things, and with performance issues galore – Spacer’s Choice isn’t the definitive edition of the game that it clearly wanted to be. It’s an easy pass for those who have already played through the game and its DLCs. And those who haven’t played it, they might be better off sticking to other better games in the genre.

The entire game got revamped. Loadtimes are literally seconds, controls are much more fluid. Models look better, and by better I mean dirtier and more lived in than they were before, everything seems actually alive and have their own agendas, lives and goals. Very very good Upgrade from an already amazing game. Worth your time

ABSOLUTELY AAMAZING GAME!!! I am loving all of the incredible intrigue and very important choices and consequences that stem from those choices.

I am really glad I purchased the Spacer's Choice Edition because it looks BEAUTIFUL and with the new feature of AMD's FidelityFX Resolution 2 I am able to sustain over 100 fps at 4K with my RTX 3080. Money WELL Spent and I am glad that I

Only good thing about this version is that it's on PS5 still, however, the sequel won't be. Such a shame. Obsidian used to thrive as a developer, and now that Microsoft owns them I can see them disappearing into the void like Scalebound.

This is the best edition of The Outer Worlds. The game with both expansions offer close to 100 hours of gameplay, most of it fun. The game runs great on PS5. If that's the direction Obsidian is heading with Outer Worlds 2, the game is in good hands!

The game is clearly inspired by both Fallout and Bioshock. But it fails to achieve the greatness of those games. As a FPS shooter it is really mediocre. The gunplay is boring and unchallenging (I played on "hard")'. An as an RPG it lacks the exploration and discovery aspects of Fallout, and also suffers from worse mechanics and less than stellar writing.

Still, the story and writing is the strong point of The Outer Worlds. It's not Obsidian's best effort, but better than most other games out there. Sometimes ham-fisted, sometimes cringe-worthy, and frequently excessively satirical, it is still a good effort.

Apart from the over-the-top satire, the graphical style is also over-the-top, with garish and loud colors. Especially the outdoor environment. Indoor scenes are more refined.

The outdoor environment is definitely one of the game's weak points. There isn't much to explore and discover, and the world is filled with the same three kinds of monsters in a few variations. The mid-game world of Monarch is easily the low point of the game. It was a bit of a slog to get through, with a confusing map without logical progression, which tended to mangle and confuse the story.

The latest 1.2 patch caused a bunch of issues, and I experienced frequent crashed after I upgraded. I highly recommend waiting for a more stable release before playing this.

I don't think I would pay full price for this, but it's worth picking up if there is a sale.

This is still a good game. If you’re a newcomer like me and hardly played the last gen version then you might love this version. I didn’t really have time to play the last gen version of the game so this version is actually fun and it looks great.

I love the graphics and I think it looks amazing. Even though, I love the graphics, I think the cinematography for the last gen is so much

This version of the game reminds me of a 4K remastered of a DVD movie. Yes, it looks great because of the resolution and texture, etc but the lighting takes away from the mood and tone of the original. It feels like a totally different story world. The gameplay is fun but it does have frame-rate issues which will most likely get addressed in updates. I am really enjoying the game. If I spent hours with the last-gen version, I probably wouldn’t like it a lot.

I understand why players do not like this version. If you have the other version, don’t waste your money. If you want to get into this game then I suggest this version because it has everything you need plus a level cap of 99.

But…… if you have a PS5 and want to save space because trust me, we are limited with space then go with the PS4 version.

Overall, this version is good to me. It looks nice in both performance and cinematic mode. The lighting might take a few hours to get used to for last-gen players. It is a good version that contains all the DLC.

I got it because the digital version was cheaper than the original with all the DLC. I think a fair price for this version of the game (brand new) would be $39.99. If you could get it on sale for less than $49.99, get it.

The game is a brilliant masterpiece!!! I couldn’t stop playing it and it was my second run after a few years back. The game doesn’t feel like an AAA budget but it's even better to test how it will work and maybe the second game will reach something new.

Optimization is completely absent, because of the lack of texture loading, the environment looks terrible. To be brief - Potato Mod for money.

    corporations will do anything

people as a whole are worth only as much as the side they're on, mathematics or not

in this this case calculation vs humanity

the way to be wrong is through inaction

if you've learned nothing, then what was the point

through countless dialogue even though you might have skipped some it. the game is more a moral testing ground than a definiator more than anything else.

the game was definetly more about the characters and what we could learn from their growth

in the the end game it was seldomly concerned about ourselves rather than the outcome overall

but Halcyon could live or take it, its lawless and the definition of chaotic lawful

which was a good choice on the developers part

because in the very end after all is said and done ,we have a little to learn about ourselves as gamers frustrating as it may be

*(we all got mad when someone undermined us and "reload" options most of them being byzantium)
*they tried really hard to make some unlikable npcs( beware) some are quests

My unease aside, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is a mighty pleasant way for a sci-fi RPG fan to spend 30-40 hours, especially if you haven’t yet played its two DLC packs. It is wonderfully crafted, offers compelling choices between “right” and “wrong,” and gives curious players a few hidden pathways beyond those binaries. Its worlds are compact and homespun. It is not a galaxy of content, but in a world full of corporate bloat, overlong working hours, console wars, and games as a service, all I can say is thank goodness for that.

Despite all of the areas that The Outer Worlds could do better, it is still an enjoyable experience. Companions and the relative density of the game make the day-to-day quests by and large engaging, while the inclusion of the DLC goes a long way to raising up the interest in the setting. However, outside of it there is little to recommend Halcyon as a place to explore, particularly as players get assaulted by familiar foes more than necessary. The Outer Worlds sets a solid, if unspectacular, base that has plenty of room to improve.

The Outer Worlds is an excellent game, but the Spacer's Choice Edition remaster doesn't live up to it. Sure, it can look nicer with more prevalent reflections and changes to the lighting, but it can also be really rather dark, and performance on PS5 is far from perfect. You're better off sticking with the original release via backward compatibility.
