Gameplay is catastrophic. I don't get what is wrong with the people designing this game. Do they even test it? Hot garbage again. As the first one was.

This game is bad. Like...really bad.
The very first thing it does when you boot up is forces you to go through a painfully slow clickable walkthrough on how their micro-transactions work and overly complex perk system works. Great start y'all.

I proceed to get absolutely demolished on the easiest setting in my first few exhibition matches as the AI smashes shots in corners and makes it pure luck to get to a shot as if I'm a goalie trying to make a PK save and just guessing which way to go.
All the shots seem to perform similarly other than the lob shot.
It's nearly impossible to run up to the net to volley and if you do, the AI smashes a shot passed you.
The gameplay tutorials are basically useless and have the same slow, click-through message boxes as previous tutorials.
This entire game is borderline unplayable. I seriously can't see how anyone can give this anything other than a 0 rating. Not sure what Sony was thinking when they had this be one of their monthly PS+ titles.

Good God is this game unplayable. The controls seem to be very unoptimized. Any shot that you try to go for just doesn't work and if it does come of the racket the timing will either be off or the computer will hit an objectively better shot causing you to lose the point. It was more fun to use the character create we than to play the actual game. That is a sad reality coming from someoneGood God is this game unplayable. The controls seem to be very unoptimized. The Next Gen improvements isn't going to make Tennis World Tour 2 way better as the game is still suffering from subpar gameplay, bad controls, poor AI and a lack of customization options. I gave the game a 6 out of 10 and to be honest the next gen improvements isn't going to do better for the game.

To be fair, I am not a tennis fan. I don't know the rules of it. But since it's a plus game I downloaded it. Firstly I played tutorials, so that I can learn the game. Anyway, even though if I could make a shot without "foul" I don't think it would be fun but it's not because of this game. I mean, how can tennis as a video game be fun?
To conclude, if you are not a tennis fan and you are not willing to learn the rules you don't need to try it.

There are so many things to criticize with this game, but it fundamentally comes down to the poor gameplay mechanics. What appears to be an attempt to simulate a more realistic experience lead to a nearly unplayable one.

The basic idea is you can hit slices, topspin, flat, or lob and aim your shot. Your player is supposed to "snap" towards the ball, except half the time he won't and the other half he'll just stand there while the ball passes him by, not even making an effort. I would genuinely do better in real life than what the character is capable of in this game.

The games by telling you “Before we get started and allow you to play, let’s take a look at the card pack store!” Need I say more? Got it free on PS Plus and immediately deleted it.

Don’t waste $$ —even on sale! Mechanics broken, players hideous wax dolls. Needs to go back to the drawing board. Junk.

There’s no fun to be had in this game. The only reason I don’t give this a zero is because it is not glitchy. The game is built to get you to buy cards.

Tennis World Tour 2 Complete Edition offers minor improvements, but it still remains a game not suited for casuals. Hardcore fans on the other hand will likely spend many hours with the game and will appreciate the new arenas, international tournaments, added players and gear that this edition brings to the table.

Tennis World Tour 2 on the PlayStation 5 is the definitive way to experience this realistic simulation title. While it does have quite a few flaws considering the package, there’s still a lot to love for those looking for a tennis game with a learning curve.

Unfortunately, even the different modes, slick visuals and silky-smooth frame rate can’t make up for the fact that World Tennis Tour 2 Complete Edition’s core experience, playing tennis, is a huge let-down. It is extremely disappointing that Big Ant Studios has failed to adequately address the basic gameplay shortcomings that have been around since the first Tennis World Tour back in 2018. As a fan of the sport I badly wanted this game to be better, but Tennis World Tour 2 Complete Edition will make even the most die-hard tennis fanatic want to smash their racquet and head to the dressing room.
