    Whilst Mimimi Games might be sadly gone, real-time tactics lovers shouldn’t fear as Artificer Games are here to continue their legacy. Not only a brilliant console conversion, Sumerian Six is a thrillingly inventive real-time strategy game in its own right, one that encapsulates much of what made Shadow Tactics, Desperados 3, and Shadow Gambit so great, though this time with the added fun of mauling Nazis.

    Sumerian Six fills a very niche hole that few developers have capitalized on. Its six characters and complex maps give players a wealth of options to creatively take out power-hungry Nazis, where careful planning is the best reward.

    Sumerian Six is a solid real time adventure with all manner of fun gadgets and a mean difficulty streak. The PS5 port isn’t particularly optimised though with UI scaling being a particular problem as well as a camera that’s clearly more set up for mouse control as opposed to a DualSese. It’s still fun despite that, just be aware that playing on a 4K display is your best bet as it’s virtually impossible to see if you play on 1080p unless it’s a few feet in front of you.

    Sumerian Six demonstrates Artificer picking up where Mimimi left us. Yes, this is stealth action game where maps are like complex puzzle boxes. But it’s one that embraces a pulpy plot and caters to the thrill of violence and the allure of strategic synergies. If you liked Shadow Tactics or Desperados 3, give the Six a shot.

    There's a lot packed in to Sumerian Six and it's a great game if you're looking for some laughs as you sneak around taking out nogoodniks.
