    Great storyline and likeable characters, which embody the essence of Star Trek. It really is like an interactive episode. The decisions feel weighty and the fast time element does add excitement to the moment.

    That said - and I appreciate the size of the team that made it - but to release a video game in 2023 and charge £35, with this standard of technical quality is inexcusable. While the character models are reasonable, the amount of tearing, laggy framerates and 2010 animation is poor. Add to that a soundtrack from 1995 and missing dialogue, which is often key to the decisions you have to make.

    This game should have been delayed another year. Overall, if you're a Trekkie, I'd say you'll enjoy the story and overlook the technical failings. Otherwise, avoid until it's half price or free.    … Expand

    Fantastic. I binged the games in just a few days. Like a book i couldn't put down. It had me SOOO immersed that I completely forgot about 1080p hd resolution. Who cares. It looked great. The decisions were best since mass effect 2. Felt weight of every command decision. Or loved seeing a lower decks decisions make ripples. It is VERY star trek. Best star trek game I've ever played. And about the 5th best star trek film I've ever watched. Minus 1 point for 3 sound stutters. But again. Who cares. It's great. Buy it if ur a trekie. Period… Expand

    I've been a fan of Star Trek since I was a kid, watching TNG after school was nothing short of a ritual for me and I've been looking forwards to playing this game (though I've always had my concerns).

    Star Trek Resurgence has a few good things going for it, it takes us back to a TNG era setting free of all the random mayhem, bloodshed, hypocrisy, drug use and F-Bombs that the current    I've been a fan of Star Trek since I was a kid, watching TNG after school was nothing short of a ritual for me and I've been looking forwards to playing this game (though I've always had my concerns).

    Star Trek Resurgence has a few good things going for it, it takes us back to a TNG era setting free of all the random mayhem, bloodshed, hypocrisy, drug use and F-Bombs that the current iterations of Trek provide (Picard i'm looking at you...) They have managed to recreate the look and feel of the older series quite well.

    That's basically all of the positives I have to say.

    The story is okay, but it would have taken an incredible bunch of writers to turn this fairly anemic plot into a 10 hour episode, and essentially that's what you're getting here because there is very little in the way of gameplay.

    Most of the "gameplay consists of (Hold LS) or (Press RT + Hold LS) or (Move RS and Press RT to scan). It's absolutely, without a doubt, the most basic mind-numbing experience I've ever come across in about 30 years of playing video games, and that's a shame.

    You don't really get to explore anything, you don't really get to wander your ship, you get to SEE things happening but you don't get the feeling your ever actually involved in this game at all. The controls are horrendous, pressing all the way to the right or left makes your reticle slowly crawl it's way to it's destination, and that's frustrating because half of this gameplay is like "Move this dot over that dot and press RT".

    If you're a die hard fan of Trek, you'll no doubt struggle your way through this and say "Okay, well I had a time". If you're not, you should avoid this at all costs coz it's not worth your Latinum.

    Unfortunately, the technical issues and gameplay brought the entire experience down. The controls felt stiff, and some of the quicktime event notifications didn't stand out. I encountered bugs throughout--everything from characters talking over each other or audio glitching out to visual issues like the playable character being replaced by a floating tricorder. I loved the style of the game, but it needed more polishing on the technical side. Hope to see more Trek games like this.    … Expand

    The game would be pretty good, if not the HUGE amount of bugs that are taking away all the fun and turning it into frustration. After I finally completed the puzzle with interfering waves, game crushed and I had to start all over again, which made me uninstall. STOP publishing games that don’t work please!

    Star Trek: Resurgence is a love letter to the franchise. This narrative adventure game feels like a movie or a series of the long-running franchise with new characters, new issues and the same heart. The story carries it, and it’s as good as some of Star Trek’s best. If it wasn’t for the occasional bug, this would have been a perfect game.

    While there are some nuggets of gold within Star Trek: Resurgence's narrative, the game prioritizes tedious puzzles and clunky mechanics that break the sense of immersion that is crucial for this genre. The IP and some interesting characters are not enough to distract from the poor visuals, controls, and bugs that plague the majority of the experience.

    Despite multiple graphical and audio issues, Star Trek Resurgence is worth checking out. The experience of the former Telltale employees shows in Dramatic Labs. Somehow, the engine is just as buggy, but the gripping storyline and characters shine bright. It’s also cool how dedicated the studio is to recreating the gadgets from this Star Trek era. If you’re a Trekkie or a casual fan, you should give this game a go.
