    Unique game and combat loop experience!! Sifu is so addictive, I spent tons of hours learning the gameplay mechanics, very simple yet quite difficult to master, at least in medium difficulty.

    Everything is so minimalistic, the creative design, the music, the controls, the combos, it's all so simple and perfect.     This game is really good. It looks really cool and the music is awesome. The combat is one of the best I've ever play and thats where the fun is. Its really challenging but its worth the try and retry and retry... if you like to be challenged but with some fairness this game could be for you.     Sifu is absolutely an incredible game. Playing it brings back fond memories of classic games like Streets of Rage, The Bouncer, Double Dragon, and Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles. Sifu feels like you are playing an old 70's Bruce Lee action film. Love it.

    Camera is my only major complaint for this game. It's really easy to get lost when stuck in a corner, and it's a pain in the ass that I have to manually adjust the camera during the most intense boss fights.

    Sound design seems kind of muted at first, but it somewhat makes sense when punches are so dense.    … Expand

Esto, ligado a que "solo" son cinco niveles, puede parecer corto, pero nada más lejos de la realidad, pues la intención del juego es rejugar todos los niveles una y otra vez para perfeccionarlo. Se puede hacer algo repetitivo, pero la agilidad que requiere para jugar hará que no te des cuenta del paso del tiempo. Me da lástima no tener más para darle, y eso que he jugado 30 horas.     I honestly have no issues with this game. I’ve had minimal bugs and an amazing time. I platinumed this in around 7 days after release and I just want more. Since then I’m still coming back to play more. This game and the devs deserve the highest praise for this. More DLC or sequels in the future would be great.     SIFU es un beat 'em up en 3D aunque también se puede considerar un juego de lucha, ya que tiene una jugabilidad muy original que mezcla estos dos estilos de una forma magistral. La jugabilidad es sin duda su punto fuerte, tiene un sistema de combate bastante sencillo pero complejo de dominar, y consigue ser muy satisfactorio y adictivo. La dificultad del juego es bastante elevada y estáSIFU es un beat 'em up en 3D aunque también se puede considerar un juego de lucha, ya que tiene una jugabilidad muy original que mezcla estos dos estilos de una forma magistral. La jugabilidad es sin duda su punto fuerte, tiene un sistema de combate bastante sencillo pero complejo de dominar, y consigue ser muy satisfactorio y adictivo. La dificultad del juego es bastante elevada y está muy bien medida y me ha durado unas 9 horas. El bucle jugable consigue ser muy divertido y nunca se hace repetitivo, aunque a veces sea necesario repetir el nivel entero para ir al siguiente con menos edad. Esto me lleva a hablar de la mecánica principal del juego, la edad. A medida que vas muriendo tu edad va aumentado, y esto hace que pierdas vida pero que hagas más daño. Me parece una mecánica muy bien implementada y que hace el juego tremendamente rejugable. El diseño de niveles mejorable, no como su diseño artístico que es muy vistoso (con algunas zonas y escenarios espectaculares) y con una magnífica combinación de colores. En cuanto a su apartado gráfico no me ha terminado de convencer, ya que creo que texturas algo más trabajadas habrían quedado mejor. La historia tiene una premisa interesante y el contexto del mundo, siguiendo la cultura del kung-fu, también tiene su complejidad, pero para mi ha pasado a un segundo plano durante mi partida. La banda sonora y los efectos de sonido son muy buenos y consiguen crear una atmósfera muy inmersiva en cada escenario. También debo comentar el contenido extra añadido de las Arenas, muy recomendable para quienes se hayan quedado con más ganas de SIFU. Como punto negativo he de mencionar que las animaciones faciales me han parecido algo inexpresivas y que el doblaje me parece algo mediocre. En conclusión, SIFU es uno de los mejores indies que he jugado y lo recomiendo a quienes quieran tener una experiencia desafiante. 8,9/10

    7 because i would have prefer a better free flow like in Batman Arkham series it would give a better feeling of success like flawless combo, also a better ending it miss something and the game is a bit short i did the platinum in 6 days like 15 hours.

Unfortunately I am neither, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the game for what it is. I think this game would most appeal to fans of fighting games and fans of Souls games. Unfortunately I am neither, but that doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the game for what it is. It’s a very unique concept that blends old school beat ‘em ups, complex fighting game mechanics, rogue likes, all wrapped in artistic package with huge nods to martial arts movies. The graphics are a bit weak, I know they tried to go for the simplistic appearance, but they just honestly don’t look that good. Luckily, the presentation and artistic design make up for it and make them less noticeable. The sound design is fair, but nothing to write home about. The core appeal to the game is the unique gameplay that a small sector of the gaming population will enjoy.

    Although the first few minutes in "Sifu" are not easy, those who fight their way through will be offered a challenging and intense game. We can only recommend the game's storyline, graphics and controls and were very positively impressed that "Sifu" was also released for the PlayStation 5. Get "Sifu" for your console and experience a great game.

    I Had the infamous problem with the Pre order but besides that is a great game i just wish it was longer and had more variety on combat but don't get me wrong the combat system is amazing but just wished it had more variety.

    Managed to Platinum this on PS5, it is difficult but when you learn the mechanics and moves it’s easier, I really enjoyed this game for the challenge and definitely one of my favorite games of 2022. The developers did an amazing job and I’m looking forward to a sequel!

    How It Stacks Up: I liked Sloclap's previous martial arts entry in Absolver better. It was more unique and had more variety. Even though I 100%'d Sifu, I didn't even use half of the skills. The core combat itself is good, but is no match for Sekiro, which does the deflection/parry mechanics better. Still, it is one of the best martial arts games by default from lack of competition. So if you need your kung fu fix, a fun time will be had.    … Expand

    SIfu is a good game with nice combat system and great music, but the game lacks alot of things.
    for example:
    1. Parry system that the game "teaches" you, is pretty useless for the most of the game and especially for all the bosses fights. the game is not teaching how to "Evade" attacks almost at all, the evade's are probably the only way to defeat the game, if you master this early that    SIfu is a good game with nice combat system and great music, but the game lacks alot of things.
    for example:
    1. Parry system that the game "teaches" you, is pretty useless for the most of the game and especially for all the bosses fights.

    Sifu is a truly spectacular fighting game, the game is short but getting to the end won't be easy and will take you at least 10 hours to master every mechanic the game offers, but once the game clicks you won't want to stop getting back into the action and do it all over again.

    Sifu is one of the most fun beat-em-up games I’ve ever played. I’ve always had problems trying to get into the genre of hard games (mainly roguelikes), but I felt very happy trying this one out. The visuals of the game are stunning. It’s very “cartoonish,” but its color palette and defined edges really gives it a unique look. Given how pretty it is, the game does come with a handy PhotoSifu is one of the most fun beat-em-up games I’ve ever played. I’ve always had problems trying to get into the genre of hard games (mainly roguelikes), but I felt very happy trying this one out. The visuals of the game are stunning. It’s very “cartoonish,” but its color palette and defined edges really gives it a unique look. Given how pretty it is, the game does come with a handy Photo Mode, and trust me, you’ll be taking a lot of pics. The game also runs at a buttery smooth 60fps on PS5 with great texture quality and shadows at 4K. The combat is also REALLY fun. It’s not flawless, but its flare, satisfaction, and twitchy movements really keeps you on your toes. What I enjoyed the most was how age was integrated, where your health and damage output can decrease and increase depending on your age. It didn’t make me feel super weak even when I was getting close to Age 70. Although I do think the evade button is a little too prone to being spammed, I often find myself mixing it with parrying to get finishers. As you get older, health plays a key factor, and getting finishers quickly becomes increasingly important. The spatial environment also regularly gets very cramped, and can lead you pinned down on a corner even when you try to evade. Another issue I found was that it was sometimes hard to target a specific character when fighting. I’m not sure if there is a lock-on feature, and if there is, then I did not use it throughout my whole run. This also connects to the fact that this game’s tutorial is poor and put at a very sidelined level to demonstrate the story and world at the Prologue. At the end of the day, a mixture of everything is what guarantees you to improve on your combos (which are really fun to do too!) and age. It’s very twitchy and you have to react fast, but it’s extremely addicting and really hooked me easily. What’s definitely the most controversial is the aging system. Given that I’ve already played games like Returnal, I felt ready to go through a similar experience with this game. This portion is extremely subjective and it’s not guaranteed that everyone will like it, but I absolutely adore it. The age system regularly encourages you to revisit and perform better on previous levels to advance to later stages younger. It demands perfection and understanding of the levels. It also encourages exploration, as some levels may have shortcuts or extra rooms that you may not have had the opportunity to explore in your first runs. The soundtrack is also great, especially in The Club. Despite its very few flaws in gameplay, I absolutely recommend this banger of a game. It’s extremely addicting and I can’t stop thinking about it!… Expand

    -Not always online.
    -A TRUE single player experience.
    -Short and sweet.

    Cons:
    -Replayability so low once game is completed (unless you're a speed runner or doing personal challenges).
    -Enemy variety is limited (4 main types aside from bosses).
    -Minor to get-beat-by-the-boss-cuz-I'm-stuck-in-a-pillar-and-can't-get-out bugs.

    Final Thoughts: Pricing is an issue as it feels, in my opinion, like a quality $25 game; this however does not affect my review score. This is a solid 8/10 7 to 10 hour game.    … Expand

    master piece this game is. These guys did an incredible job of creating an intense immersive kung fu play ground. You feel like a pupil of this world, an apprentice of kung fu. It took me 1 week, playing 1 hour and a half per day to complete and have all trophies and only god knows how much I have enjoyed the challenge to learn step by step all moves, ability skills, even with the training mode that I ever played in a game! Music is awesome, graphic is damn stylish, bosses remembers you lot of films, combat system is deep, hard to master, but once you reach the mind status, you become Bruce lee. I am only missing something more, I would like to have more, some dlcs, or a new diff ultima or a boss rush mode, something that could give this game at least a 10 more hours of playing. This is for me the only thing missing to vote 9 ( and the camera moving around you sometimes really sucks ).

    For all those foes who tells the game is difficult, well guys I think that the only problem is that you don’t want to really play video games, or maybe you forget the arcade cabins, or maybe you forget the good times passed learning something to reach perfection.     Sifu is a extremely fun game. It’s the most fun in a game I’ve had in a year but my one complaint is it’s to short. You’ve probably heard that 1000 times but I finished the game in 5 hours I can’t justify paying $60 for 5 hours. I will definitely play it again later in 2022 but it’s still hard to recommend. Other then that the combat is just so smooth.

    Wow this is one of the best games I've ever played. At first it was really fustrating. I had to replay the 2nd level for 4 days before finally beating it at a good age but then I started getting really good. This game does a great job with the "wax on wax off" style. Now I have beat each level without dying and the game feels really easy because of how much I had to keep playing and learning. I truly feel like I mastered it and it is very satisfying. With that being said, for the real players of this game who stick with it like me and really learn it and beat it, they will eventually get good. I'm at the point where I can run through levels and the challenge isn't there anymore. Theres a couple mods that make the game harder but I barely notice them now. The game will ultimately need more content to get the players who stuck with it to keep playing. It's too easy now. Don't get me wrong the length of the game is well worth the $40. It took me around 40 hours to master but now after all the dying and rage quits, it is too easy. Also the training mode needs to be better. Maybe if there was a arena mode or you could practice against certain enemy types to practice, it would help new players. All in all, I think it is GOTY for me and after dying over and eventually mastering it, the sense of accomplishment you get feels amazing and very rewarding.… Expand

    Wasn't expecting much but was surprised at how great Sifu is. Sifu combines great gameplay with interesting mechanics and stunning visual design to be an excellent game I'd highly recommend.

    Ótima jogabilidade, porém o jogo tem um sistema meio de rogue-like que não se encaixa muito bem, fica extremamente repetitivo ao passar do tempo por conta de sua dificuldade extrema no inicio, mas ao passar do tempo, você começa a entender melhor a mecânica do game, e a partir dai fica muito mais tranquilo, no geral é um bom game por um preço muito acima do merecido.

Idk why Devs and games these days don't comes with difficulty settings, prolly kind of a stupid trend or whatever going on. For instance, the first boss will rarely land a blow if you just hold L1 and avoid down with the left stick. And you can beat him in a minute flat if you just parry a couple of his more telegraphed combos. The game is still challenging, but not frustratingly challenging once you understand how easy and useful those mechanics are.

    A few quick tips for beginners. Make sure that your L1 button for avoiding/dodge is set to “hold” instead of “toggle”. You’ll understand if you try it.

    If you don’t understand the timing of avoiding hits, try this: Square up with a single enemy, hold L1 and just keep pressing down on the left stick repeatedly. Don’t even try to attack. Watch how many blows you avoid (probably all). You’ll realize the dodge function is very generous, and only a few of the stronger enemy types have combos that require precise timing to dodge.

    Last thing I found helpful is how to dodge sweep attacks. You’ll get really used to avoiding/dodging down since it’s so useful, but if you dodge down during a sweep attack you’ll get downed every time. You could dodge upward to jump over the sweep, but it takes a lot of practice and knowledge of the enemy combos. Instead, if the sweep is coming, simply hold L1 without dodging in any direction. You won’t be swept to the floor unless your structure is gauge is full. You’ll take a little structure damage, but you’ll make less mistake this way. If you try to dodge it you’ll get punished a lot. And sweeps are so fast that they’re hard to time even if you know they’re coming. Good luck!    … Expand

As with any other skill, and as a fitting example, with any actual martial art, it takes time to teach your body and mind how to react to certainYes, this game is hard. The movesets of the enemies in this game take a lot of trial and error to learn. But with some patience and perseverance, you will learn the moves, and you will be able to respond quickly and correctly to all of them. And let me tell you, once you do, you will feel like an absolute badass in this game. That's the point. If that level of mastery came too easily, it would negate the sense of accomplishment. This game is so rewarding if you just enjoy the combat for what it is and take the time to master it.

    Difficulty and mechanics aside, the visuals and art style in this game are fantastic. Shout out to Sloclap for showing everyone how to do an oil painting aesthetic correctly (I'm looking at you, Platinum Games). The music was great and fit the mood and aesthetic of the game very well. The attention to detail, especially with interactions with the environment, was impressive. Also, this game was a clear love letter to the martial arts movie classics that came before it, especially the introductory credit sequence. Finally, this game managed to improve everything I dislike about "roguelike" mechanics. Once you beat a stage, you don't ever have to go back (unless you want to improve the starting age for the next stage). Even with the shortcuts, having to go through all the stages on every run would not have been fun. So being able to choose to go back to previous stages later was a huge positive.

    This game does lose a point for me for a couple reasons. The story was pretty generic, though I love From Software approach to storytelling in this game, through finding items and subtle clues in the environment. The ending, even the "good" one, lacked emotional weight for me. It could have been because the acting and writing, at least in the English version, was okay. Nothing to write home about. My final criticism would be that I wish some of the heavy attacks from the enemies (the ones with the glowing limbs), especially the sweeps and the big boy grabs, had a bit more of a telegraph.

    All in all, this is a masterfully crafted game with exciting gameplay mechanics and beautiful style, and well worth asking price. I can't wait to see what Sloclap does next, and I'm excited for any extra content for this game.    … Expand

I appreciate when developers created a game that rewards the player for playing smart and learning the fundamentals. Because of the insane level of difficultly in Sifu, this game is not meant for everyone which is perfectly okay. All games are not created equal and this is clearly for people who want and love a challenge. The only major flaw I can think of for this game is that it does a poor job of explaining its mechanics for newer players who are not quick learners.     Me ha molado el concepto de la edad, los gráficos son muy bonitos y la historia es amena. Aunque hay varias cosas que no me están gustando. No hay doblaje al español, aunque sí está en inglés.     Великолепная боевая система, ультра красивый дизайн локаций, и главное лично для меня, просто неповторимая атмосфера которая не выпускает тебя из игры не на секунду, 10/10 взял платину и наиграл уже под 50часов, разработчикам из "sloclap" низкий поклон, по больше бы таких игр.     Extremely stylish and awesome Kung Fu beat-'em-up !!! Super fluid 3D animations !!! Love the very rare voice option for CANTONESE (yeap, Hong Kong's Cantonese, not China's Mandarin), hearing foul swearing in your native language is always super cool LOL !!!

    It seems coming at this game late has given me a more positive perspective on Sifu. Whilst the Student difficulty wasn't available at launch, it does help wash away some of the repetition that can potentially grind a player down. Honestly, I felt the combat more than pulled its weight and controlling an encounter can feel incredibly rewarding. There's a challenge to be had but it's one that can be overcome with patient observation and persistence.
