    The best need for speed game I've played lately. It reminded me of the days when I played underground. I miss playing a good need for speed game.

    Takes everything I loved about NFS Heat and improves on it. Runs smooth as silk, with minimal glitches, and the open world of Lakeshore looks absolutely gorgeous! The new character style and cartoon action accents actually add a feeling of intensity/exhilaration that works well with the tone of the game. The handling/car/race mechanics are much more stable and nuanced than Heat....muchTakes everything I loved about NFS Heat and improves on it. Runs smooth as silk, with minimal glitches, and the open world of Lakeshore looks absolutely gorgeous! The new character style and cartoon action accents actually add a feeling of intensity/exhilaration that works well with the tone of the game. The handling/car/race mechanics are much more stable and nuanced than Heat....much more enjoyable with high speed races. And, amazingly....the story and character interaction is really quite good this time. It's actually interesting! And funny amidst the in-car, over-the-phone chatter while roaming the world, looking for races and getting into/out of trouble with the cops.

    While by no means perfect, Criterion's put the franchise back on the road with NFS Unbound. Oozing with originality, and giving players their fix however they want to play (whether in story mode, online, customizing cars, or outrunning the cops), Need for Speed Unbound is the strongest outing the series has had to date since Criterion's Hot Pursuit entry in 2010.

    Unbound is a step in the right direction for sure. It really seems to be what NFS Heat should've been if they had more time. Driving model is not ideal but the addition of grip handling was a great idea for which fans begged for years. Other than that, story has a good premise but could be a lot more fleshed out. Customization is back albeit some parts are unfortunately missing. SoundtrackUnbound is a step in the right direction for sure. It really seems to be what NFS Heat should've been if they had more time. Driving model is not ideal but the addition of grip handling was a great idea for which fans begged for years. Other than that, story has a good premise but could be a lot more fleshed out. Customization is back albeit some parts are unfortunately missing. Soundtrack is maybe not outstanding but you won't bleed from your ears after one hour like in the 2019 outing of the NFS. Overall it is a great game that hopefully will become foundation for the future titles (with or without that art style).… Expand

    I had very low expectations for this Need for Speed game thinking it's just like Heat & Payback but with a different skin. Damn was i wrong. Overall this game in my opinion is the best in the last 10-12 years. It's polished, it's nice looking, it feels great to play, the story keeps you hooked up, the car selection is the biggest in a NFS franchise, Criterion    This game just DELIVERS!

    Очень приятно удивлен. Ожидал очередной проходняк, а получилась достойная игра. Эффекты зашли, геймплей пушка, выбор авто достаточный. Стабильный фпс. Единственное графон явно не некстген.

    I've been waiting for a good Need For Speed for 12 years ! Since NFS Hot Pursuit back in 2010, the series has gone downhill for quite a good time now ! Thankfully NFS Unbound brings so much style and personality coupled with great gameplay and sense of progression to win me over again ! The street vibe, the city, the graphics, the soundtrack, my god THE SOUNDTRACK IS EXCELLENT !! The wholeI've been waiting for a good Need For Speed for 12 years ! Cars are fun to buy and customize and the graphics compliment them. The world of Chicago inspired Lake Shore City is a must on a 4k screen as it’s a true next GenThe game is fantastic!     This is the best arcade racing game since Midnight club LA. Physics are amazing its perfect mixture of MCLA and Burnout Paradise and a tiny bit of hot pursuit remastrer. Visuals look great even cartoon stuff looks good. It's a the best nfs since idk even know probably hot pursuite.
    btw I'm OG gamer and i played every single nfs game.

    This is truly one of the best NFS games in a decade, don't listen to the negative review bombs, they have no spine and are not objective. The graphics are next-gen, the driving is excellent, the soundtrack is amazing and the story is very engaging. The cop chases are truly engaging (expected from a Criterion game). The best NFS game in 10 years!

    After playing for 2 days I can confidently say that this is the best NFS I've played since a long time. The handling feels good, the graphics are really convincing and the game's theme is really well put together. And still haven't encountered a single bug, which is odd considering the current era we're in.

    Highly recommend.

    If you've loved arcade racers like Most Wanted 2005, Midnight Club LA, Burnout Paradise, Heat, then you'll likely love this game too. Frenetic 60fps racing fun in a beautiful big city that feels alive with plenty of traffic, pedestrians, and parked cars.

    This game is a blast! The only negative I have found is that EA has apparently forgot to do any marketing for the game. None of my friends had even heard of it until I told them about it. The art style is refreshing and very unique. The car customization and the grind to work your way up to the top is addictive.     Crazy enough I have played every need for speed to date since the first and I have to say this is probably the best NFS since Underground 2. I mean visually, gameplay and all of course not every game is perfect it could always be better but it’s a hell of a start for us true need for speed fans. We are headed in the right direction after so many years of being let down!!!

    It is really nice to drive down a hill with 350 km / h in an online racer and the physics actually giving you a feeling of enough control to feel good and a loss at high speeds of feeling challenging.

    - The story is quite nice ( I really like the character development.     - multiplayer NEEDS more stuff to do. But as it is labeled as Vol. 1 in the main menu, I have hopes they will add to it. Hopefully a season pass
    - The character customization is not satisfying because you can literally buy whatever you like from the beginning for $200. (They should have a different currency for outfits, I guess.

    For someone who has known and played this game series from the beginning, I can say that this part is by far the best NFS that has appeared in recent years. People always compare this part to the predecessor "Heat" which is also understandable, but "unbound" makes everything 2x better than in Heat.     NFS unbound é muito bom, traz tudo do universo e ainda mais. Com relação ao anterior Heat tem apenas uma leva aparência gráfica porém o Unbaund é muito superior e a jogabilidade melhorou muito. 10/10.

    Probably the best NFS to date.
    At first i was very sceptical about Criterion but god damn they delivered. The game released in a very polished state (Which is surprising by today's standards) and it has enough content to keep you hooked for hundreds of hours dare i say and when you know that the game is going to have a lot of post launch support makes me even more excited.

    I think after nfs heat's success...unbound is a step in the right direction where we fans have always wanted NFS to go. This game feels like a successor to underground,most wanted,heat,carbon.
    Also this art style of characters is so unique and i kinda like it.
    Plus there are no racing games to out right now besides forza to play. Forza is all about festival and races. If you want that driving thrill,NOS and undefeated customization...Unbound is the way to go!!

    If I were to compare this to Forza Horizon 5 which i would rate 7/10 because of all the issues i had with that game at launch,unbound crushes it and probably for the first time in many years,NFS is back on top of the game!!    … Expand

    After spending around 30+ hours in story mode, I have to say this is one of the best NFS I have played in the past decade. The graphics are amazing, the story, while being a bit cheesy at times, is still pretty good with decent dialogue. The handling physics have gotten an overhaul but they are not too far off what NFS Heat had, just with many required    Review based on story mode:

    The addition of burst nitrous makes every single action feel rewarding, and the effects you can add to your car do not get in the way of gameplay, they just enhance it.

    Only gripes are lackluster multiplayer and photo mode, but there are content updates planned so I will update the review as they come.

    One of the best NFS, hands down. Recommend! People who say there’s not sense of speed.. are totally wrong. Sometimes I wish it would slow down because it’s so fast! But that’s a good thing! Also the track is good. I never liked heat, this is so much better.

    I got into this series with Need for Speed Carbon on the Wii. I took a break from the franchise until Most Wanted 2012 came out and, despite it's unfitting name, was the most racing game I had ever played, sinking nearly 200 hours into the multiplayer alone. And now, after 10 long years, Need for Speed Unbound has managed to capture that charm and fun factor that MW2012 brought to theI got into this series with Need for Speed Carbon on the Wii. I took a break from the franchise until Most Wanted 2012 came out and, despite it's unfitting name, was the most racing game I had ever played, sinking nearly 200 hours into the multiplayer alone. And now, after 10 long years, Need for Speed Unbound has managed to capture that charm and fun factor that MW2012 brought to the series, and vastly improves upon it in almost every aspect.

    The gameplay loop is incredibly unique and pretty challenging at times. Cops are WAY more fair than they were in NFS Heat, although it is fairly easy to outrun them in lower heat levels. Vehicle damage has been completely overhauled allowing for more crashes before critical damage, and the limited gas station repairs from Heat are gone, making cop chases actually fun and worthwhile since they earn you money depending on your heat level when you escape.

    The game world feels like a mix between MW2012, NFS 2015, and Heat. The cel-shaded, graffiti riddled artstyle screams creativity and you can tell the art team put a lot of care into making each element fit perfectly with the rest of the game. My favorite aspect of the game, however, has to be the sound design.

    The sound design in this game can be described as beautifully chaotic. Each time you activate a fully charged burst nitrous, you're rewarded with a cacophony of sounds ranging from deep bass hums to high pitched whirs and whistles, all layered over the classic Need for Speed nitrous sound that perfectly compliment the fast paced and chaotic nature of Unbound. What's more is that there's 9 different sound palettes to choose from that have their own distinct sound profiles.

    The handling model is vastly improved over Heat. Cars now have proper weight to them that affects handling and other aspects of the driving experience. Granted, it's still super arcadey, but the added vehicle weight paired with the updated handling makes driving that much more fun and actually makes you think about how to enter a corner.

    Overall, while not perfect, Need for Speed Unbound is easily the strongest entry to the series in over a decade and is a true love letter to not only fans of the series, but to street racing as a whole.    … Expand

    Criterion took everything that worked out in Heat and improved upon it. Customization is great, cops are good, story is actually interesting this time around and the world is the best that the franchise has ever seen. A unique approach on the visuals make the game stand out and gives more life to everything, and the handling is actually responsive this time around.

    NFS Unbound ist überraschend erfrischend, endlich wieder mal ein gutes NFS!!! Von Tuning bis Rennen ist alles sehr schön gemacht, die Effekte und der Anime/Manga Stil harmonieren sehr gut im Gesamtbild. Bin sehr froh darüber dass sie es geschafft haben wieder ein geiles Game zu machen. Für mich jetzt der beste NFS Teil der jemals rauskam. (Sie hätten es auch Underground 3 nennen können ;)

    I played it and it feels like a completely different game, it's not those dull NSF with terrible physics, it's something else. I like the effects here, but you usually don't notice them and get used to it in a couple of minutes of playing. As for me, this is the best nsf at the moment

    This is by far the most fun I’ve had in a racing game in years. I found Heat to be very boring on gameplay making it not enjoyable. I like the extra neon, smoke effects reminds me of the days with Underground 1 & 2. Also this NFS sense of speed is exactly what I would like out of a racing game. Very much would recommend to anyone missing Underground series or tired of all the racing simsThis is by far the most fun I’ve had in a racing game in years. I found Heat to be very boring on gameplay making it not enjoyable. I like the extra neon, smoke effects reminds me of the days with Underground 1 & 2. Also this NFS sense of speed is exactly what I would like out of a racing game.     NFS Unbound perspective of an NFS fan:

    When I saw the trailers I really didn't like the new graphic style with the anime elements, I then tested the game via ea play and the longer I play the game the more I like the mix of anime and photorealism. Also, the music in this game is really well chosen, the feeling and thrill of street racing or being chased by the cops is just incredible    NFS Unbound perspective of an NFS fan:

    Best nfs game since probably the last hot pursuit, it’s basically need for speed heat 2.0 but 100 times better they improved on every aspect of the game ,my favorite nfs game is nfs most wanted 2005 and this game brings my hopes back on the franchise, I hope they can keep going up from now on and improving. Thank god criterion is back they don’t miss.

    I’ve only played 2 hours of it and I’m already enjoying it like from the days when I played nfs underground 1 n 2 and I have play every nfs game and it feels like I’m playing back in the old days but yeah all negative reviews are just forza kids coming to crap on a great game

    I cannot explain how much I am in love with this game. Meanwhile it might not reach the level of the series greats, like infamous Most Wanted, it does follow the Most Wanted formula, which is catering to the current popculture. And it works just so good. The vibe and energy of cartoonish effects somehow fits in the streets of Lakeshore, not to mention the soundtrack, where some songs justI cannot explain how much I am in love with this game. Meanwhile it might not reach the level of the series greats, like infamous Most Wanted, it does follow the Most Wanted formula, which is catering to the current popculture. And it works just so good. The vibe and energy of cartoonish effects somehow fits in the streets of Lakeshore, not to mention the soundtrack, where some songs just create an "experience" during night time. Finally a great highlight for this series in a long time, that was waiting to happen with their last 2 games showcasing potential. This game series has always revolved itself around what is popular in car and music culture, and this game is no different.     Amazing game from my experience. Customization is stunning, car list is amazing, and the map and graphics are beautiful! i highly recommend this game.

    Yeah, this is the best NFS since Hot Pursuit 2010, The Criterion Guys, has did a great job with this NFS
    The Campaign, yeah, its very simple, but its fine, 6,7/10

    This game feels like Midnight Club and Fast and Furious had a baby that was raised by Burnout. 10/10 visuals and gameplay feels like I’m actually a street racer and not just a glorified car collector. Don’t be surprised if boomers give low reviews because they like Forza or don’t want this game to be better than UG2 or MW

Excellent story and an aesthetic that stands out from any other racing game. All they need is to continue to provide updates to this game. They let go of NFS Heat too early but this could be the one.     initially I was turned off by the stylized aesthetic of this game but after playing, I quickly became fond of it. I don't think NFS Unbound is better than Forza or Gran Turismo but it's different and that's a good thing. It's just a really fun arcade style racer.

    Need for Speed Unbound is all about taking risks, not just because its one of the game's core elements, but the developers also took the risks in turning the wheel to another direction that no other racing game franchises would do. In my opinion, it all paid off.

    One of the best games in the series. Criterion did a really good job, the game has everything for both new players and old ones. good atmosphere, gameplay, variety of tuning, car physics, everything is at a good level.

    Best need for speed game since Most Wanted era. If they release post launch content as promised this will be in my top 3. Online experience is seamless on PS5, we just need bigger servers and cops. Solid Game, very fun.

    Gostei do mapa e dos carros, só não gostei desses efeitos de animes e principalmente essa jogabilidade que é a mesma desde o need for Speed 2015!! Se vcs pelo menos voltassem com a Jogabilidade parecida com a do NFS 2 Ou Most Wanted 2005 iria ser incrível

    Need for Speed Unbound it has finally added the opportunity to use the grip driving that we requested so much more than 10 years ago (Via vehicle settings in game menu). This game aspires to be the best NFS of the decade.

    First time in years, this NFS game is great! I am so glad that it came out better than it looked in trailers. Gameplay is fun, effects brings something new and as a rap fan, I also really like soundtrack. At least give it a chance.

    Love the story driven progress system. The aesthetic and the music of the game mixes so well like Most Wanted did. Game plays really well too, cars don’t feel like they’re floating and the AI is challenging. First NFS in a long time i’m enjoying so much. Hope they keep up the quality content for this generation consoles

    I was iffy on the street art cell shading effects but after playing for a couple hours it grew on me and like the extra customization it gives. The story in the game is good and the cops aren't too hard to get away from unlike heat during the early days after launch. The AI is a bit on the harder side but I liked the challenge. Story mode and online mode are separate, kinda like GTAV.     More than just a mediocre NFS Heat upgrade. Drifting needs to be improved tho. Highly recommend.

    Need for Speed was seriously starting to look dead and buried – and here comes the rescue party! The combination of beautiful, realistic-looking graphics and effects borrowed straight from an anime works surprisingly well, the story doesn’t get in your way and the driving model hits exactly the right spot. Even the open world is fun! This is how you make an arcade racing game.

    Need for Speed Unbound is the best modern NFS to date. It is still riddled with issues like rubberbanding and weird drifting physics, but it still provides its players with the best handling system in years, with grip racing finally back. With the best visual design NFS has ever had and some interesting campaign decisions, it gives hope that the series is back on track to becoming something great.
