May 27, 2026Darker Pokémon-likes are always enticing and I really wanted to enjoy Monster Crown: Sin Eater. The game’s lack of direction, poor difficulty curve and bland monsters mean I didn’t find this game as engaging as I’d like. The nail in the coffin, really, is that after a couple of hours of steamrolling this game, I found myself yearning for Cassette Beasts instead.

May 20, 2026Monster Crown: Sin Eater possesses an immediately engaging story, a captivating and diverse world, and gameplay systems that reward you immensely, perhaps too much at times, for learning their ins and outs. While there are some inconsistences within the game's pacing and with the balance of its difficulty, Sin Eater still manages to be a compelling and tonally unique creature collector that I expect will become a staple recommendation among genre fans due to its robust fusion and breeding systems.

May 3, 2026Monster Crown: Sin Eater's lack of direction and often demanding difficulty won't be for everyone. But if you can embrace the grind, there are some deeply addictive RPG systems at work here, backed by a shockingly mature and engaging story.
