    Good-
A captivating and well-told story. Constant tension and incredible atmosphere. It feels genuinely scary and unnerving. The exploration and puzzles are engaging for the most part. It looks and sounds great
Bad- The puzzles are a bit obtuse at points. The camera sway that happens when you move around is a bit excessive. There is some technical issues like crashing and frame dips.

    Thoughts-
Even with the few issues it does have though, MADiSON is a great game. 2014’s P.T. was a watershed moment for survival horror games, and in the years since then, we’ve had countless games that have tried to replicate its first person psychological horror mastery. Not many have succeeded, but MADiSON surely comes closer than most. It has a great understanding of the key tenets of any good horror experience – pacing, atmosphere, tension, knowing when to be restrained and when to let loose – which more than makes up for some of its more frustrating gameplay and technical issues. If you’re a fan of psychological horror, or of horror in general, this is a game that you definitely need to check out.

As a fan of these types of games, I'd give it a solid 9. It is the scariest game I've played since Visage, but it has a longer story, varied settings, and some great puzzles. So I'd say if you're like me and you love turning out all the lights, putting on the headphones and letting the atmosphere and dread take over, you definitely want to play this game.

Some of the puzzles had me head scratching, but only for a short time- there was always a solution that made me think "of course! how did I not get it sooner?" Personally, I don't want puzzles that are easy. I want to feel some small accomplishment when I come to the solution. And in a game like this, with the amazing sound design keeping you on edge, it adds to the dread when you have to backtrack through dark halls or explore around a room.

The only negative for me is simply that I felt like the creativity could have gone further, and weirder, in terms of the horror and the "monsters". I think of a game like Inside or The Forest, or even the godfather P.T., where the game takes turns that just wow the player, and I feel like there could have been some more of that. The familiar horror tropes were all here, albeit done very well. This game felt like Visage 2- a bigger, improved sequal. After a game like Martha Is Dead, I was a little disappointed at how quickly I raced through it, with very little scares. Cautiously optimistic going into Madison, it exceded my expectations.

So I'm giving this a solid 9- if you like the P.T. style games, this is arguably the best we've got right now.

Boring and tedious. Not scary at all. You end up running around taking pictures of everything puzzles make no sense at all. And voice acting is not great either.

It's a very short game. No replayability.
    Very boring common walking sim.
    LOUD = SCARY is tired.
    and Too many bugs.
    Don't waste your money.

As you can see from the reviewer name, its a rigged score.

The game is absolutely terrifying, it's been years since I played the first Outlast that I didn't feel so overwhelmed in a horror game. I really recommend it a lot, the scares are guaranteed, plus it has a pretty good story. The sound is fascinating, much of Madison's magic is due to her extraordinary audio section, a great success. Where the title falters, is in the graphics, the game looks pretty ugly, but it still doesn't ruin the experience. I enjoyed it quite a bit, years without being scared as much as with this great game. Expand

A great short but intense horror game with great puzzles. Even though for me a little challenging, needed to check guides to see if I was doing good.

This was a much better game that I was expecting. The developer took time to make sure it wasn't an absolute copy of any other horror game, but kept mechanics similar to that of Visage. The story was interesting enough, but the introduction of BLUE KNEES really ended the game with a nice (terrifying) surprise! The visuals were great, no bugs, and puzzles were actually difficult at times. IThis was a much better game that I was expecting. The game does have death, so things that go bump in the dark aren't always just jump-scare sounds.
It is walking sim. Similar weapon and inventory usage as Visage.
Story is displayed through cut-scenes, but reading files does enhance the story.

7.8 - Leagues above Visage. If you tried Visage but found its progression, puzzles, and inventory system too clunky and obtuse for your taste, give Madison a shot. It strips the frustration from the latter game and delivers a great horror experience by focusing on the scares. You may need to resort to a walkthrough once or twice but at least won’t have to look one up every 5 minutes like with Visage to the point of immersion breaking. The second half of the game did rely too much on LOUD jumpscares which felt cheap since they came out of the blue… no real tension buildup just ‘loud teleporting enemy’ = Scary type moments… had to play the second portion of the game without headphones and with sound coming out of my TV speakers because it was just too constant, obnoxious, and annoying. Nevertheless, I’ll still give it a 7.8 because it does so many other things really well. Expand

One of the best horror games, good textures, very realistic sounds, scary screamers, interesting story, own game memes. The guys made a cool game with a small team and I was glad to spend my time in it. Recommend to everyone if you have been missing a good horror game for a long time!

So turn on your Polaroid camera, prepare your gray matter for tones of multi layer puzzles and embark on this amazing horror adventure in which our Luca tries to find out is he really possessed by some demonic forces or is this all just a bad dream.

When you’re looking for a good psychological horror released in the last decade, Madison is more than a decent place to start. It surely has its cringy dialogue moments, but with a good pair of headphones, this game will make you scream like a baby, swear at every jumpscare and most of all you’ll utterly hate instant cameras.

If compared to top survival horror games, MADiSON really doesn't have much to offer to even fit in the genre, let alone making any challenges, but as an action adventure game it offers some engaging puzzles and a great atmosphere.
