Gundam Evolution is a fun and fast-paced hero shooter that, while not wholly unique, accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do: offer an authentic, competitive Gundam experience for fans of modern shooters. Satisfying gunplay and engaging classes make playing this game worthwhile, regardless of the lengthy grind and somewhat lifeless maps.

Gundam Evolution might have shamelessly lifted some of its presentation and mechanics from other games (and I think it did), but it’s still a great game at the end of the day.

You can play as some of the Gundams you see in the shows and movies. Pretty fluid mechanics that are easy to pick up and you technically don't need to buy anything since it's free. The thing I do wish we could see is communication being established with the team you matchmake with or matchmaking based off skill set. The reason why is because you will join bad team after bad team, after bad team and can lose up to 5-8 games in a row. You can't help but feel disappointed or upset that no matter how good you are or try, you will lose. The worst part is if you dont play very often and you join a game that has the other team that play 8 hours a day can be problematic too. Lastly, I hate the 'punishment' you get for leaving a public game! You cant control how your internet is going to react and you cant help it if the game kicks you out (which you can get punished for) so why give the players a 5-10 band? That's the #1 thing I would change about this game, but other than that, it's good. Full Review »

It's on it's third season as of review, and I think the PlayStation version launched mid season 2. Either way the PS5 is my preferred way to play and I enjoy it thoroughly. That being said, I feel like the tanky units could play considerably better and I understand how someone whose not playing with a "team" could find the game frustrating/hard. Can't wait to see what else they do with this series. Full Review »

Let me preface this by saying I love the Gundam IP through and through. The whole reason I began playing this game was because Gundam. If you like Overwatch like games then neat, you may like this. But its buggy and broken. More times than i can count people get disconnected from games randomly and theres nothing that can be done. Out of all the games I've played ive seen only one player get reconnected. As for characters to play theyre of the Gundam series, duh. But the developers are making wide swings with buffs and nerfs instead of micro-adjustments and outright ignoring the fact that certain characters like Barbatos and Sniper are OP and have little to no downsides and then units like Unicorn are giant slow, literally glowing targets that cant fight out of a paper bag let alone hold its own against any unit.

Honestly, I'd say unless you're itching for a fast paced Gundam game because the only other game on the market, Battle operation, plays like you're trudging through quicksand made with molasses. Just wait till they figure out their stuff because the best this game played was at the beta test and its been going downhill since
