    I've read multiple reviews saying that the game is better than Fifa 21. That may be true pre-patch, but now it's ridiculous. There's no question, that when EA touch a game, that have little to no flaws, they all of sudden turn it into a crap game. It is astonishing to me to see all of the changes that were made that make the game worse.

    Offline Modes: Career mode is still dull, with the twist of creating your own club, crest, and kit. However, you still cannot build your own stadium, which I find rather odd. You still cannot change your kit after a season, and overall the customization still lacks. Skill games are the same, still no reason for me to play them. Skill games in the past used to give points in the EA catalogue which let you have cool in game items. They were fun, and would often play them friends to compete with them. Now they aren't really that fun, and just fodder I skip past to get to the game.
    Volta: It is improved, but if you can't play online, then you're basically screwed. Still not very fun, and very frustrating to play.
    Pro Clubs: Haven't got to play this much, but from what I can tell, it's still being neglected.
    Ultimate team: Congratulations EA! You really made FUT **** again. It's truly gobsmacking to see you ruin a game mode this year. It is more than true to say that high rated players are less easy to attain. As someone who plays the game pretty consistently, and who opens packs regularly, still getting crappy players. SBC's are also almost impossible for someone like me to open, because I have to constantly sell players in my club or use them in other SBC's. The players you want are simply unattainable, and that's what separates players who have unlimited amounts of resources and time, to beat out the people who just want to play with Messi or Ronaldo in their team. It is pay to win and they know it. The more money you put into the game, the more you can benefit. But it shouldn't be like that. It should be the quality of game that you play. Rewards for playing are still dismal at best. There is no way someone can reasonably can have a good team without sending EA their work check. Instead of working on new ways to help the player be able to afford good players and craft sbcs, you guys find ways to line your own pockets.
    Gameplay: EA did it again. The end of Fifa 21 wasn't perfect , but was way better than this. Instead of working off of the last game, and making subtle improvements, EA change the entire game. At launch, keepers were insanely good. Now, since the last patch, keepers seriously can't do anything. Finishing is the worst it's ever been. Finesse shots are useless. Passes, through balls, and crosses are worse than ever. Defending is mind-numbingly bad. Scripted moments are back, and it seriously feels as if the game doesn't want you to have fun. Chemistry doesn't effect anything anymore. Don't get me started on connection issues.

    See EA, as soon as you make a product that is somewhat viable, there always has to be an end line. There always has to be something wrong. There always is another fix. Its a shame. Im very excited for UFL and new games like that so we can stop playing games that aren't worth it.

    Update: As of May 2022, I have stopped playing fifa. It is by far the worst fifa title I have ever played by far. There are no redeeming qualities to this game, and I assure you that you will go into a deep depression after playing this game. It makes you hate yourself for playing it. The rewards seem unattainable for casual players, and there isn't an end in sight. The game doesn't feel rewarding anymore. Everything is unbalanced. Nothing works as advertised. I'm done with fifa. Po drugiej aktualizacji nie mogę grać, totalnie gra jest przeciwko mnie, wszystkie podania są do przeciwnika, oskakuje piłka od moich zawodników, po odbiorze 3 krotnym piłka i tak wraca do przeciwnika. Do tego bramkarz, który nie broniGra jest tragiczna, z każdą kolejną aktualizacją przypomina połączenie najgorszych elementów z fify20 i fify21. Podania do graczy praktycznie nie istnieją.     Also, after playing during the EA Play trial period, the pay to win philosophy was in full effect or some other **** was going on because on day 1/2 of release, teams had megastars in their squads. It used to be fun to use the bronze/silver players in FUT as a way of easing in to the game. Now, the only thing that matters is how fast you can get your credit card out.    … Expand

    Same game as fifa 21, i bought the ultimate version because i played before the release of the game with the EA access. They did an update, the game is now the same racing simulator as usual.     Still wondering why people are playing this game if they are doing everything except playing football in order to score, runing straight at the kick off, using all the possible bugs and overpowered things of the game, the community is full of 12 to 15yo kids, which don't care about football, they just play in, order to win without any consideration for the football. It's true that EA doesn't seems to care about bugs and op things, but this trash community isn't helping it.

    The online gameplay (at least on PS5) is so random that I cannot even fathom how we ended up here. F21 for all its good and bad things at least provided some stability or online gameplay consistency. Now it's gone. Even when I win it feels like I had been the one with good connection and thus able to    Fr the record, I am playing Ultimate Team, so this is about FUT not other modes.

If it's your lucky turn and it works it can be enjoyable but once the generator is not on your side you will mispass majority of passes even on 5 star team, the amount of games it just would not work for me, slow to move, to pass or shoot, especially playing against PSG, you won't be able to get to them sometimes to take the ball while you won't be able to attack cause your team is not able to put 3 passes together without passing to opposition and Mbappe... he is on superman mode.
    The goalkeepers are unpredictable, sometimes they parry the ball outside, sometimes inside, other times they will lie down before the ball hits the air resulting in silly goals. Finesse shots outside the box curling in from crazy angles by the top players quite often.
    There is no balance or consistency and your skill or ability is really only 50% of the input. The rest is driven by the randomness, maybe you can see that in real live football/soccer sometimes but here it's is a little effed up.
    My condolences if you pay full price for this piece or art...
    EA sports, it's in the code should be the new slogan.

    La jugabilidad es torpe, lenta y poco intuitiva. Juego Fifa desde el 13 en adelante y nunca me había tenido la sensación de una jugabilidad tan mala. Para mi, el peor Fifa que he jugado. Casi no me dan ganas de jugarlo.

    I tested the game on ps5 and the graphic is really bad. Resolution on fifa 21 ported for ps5 is way better. The gameplay is just the same. "Hypermotion" is just marketing. The grass on Fifa 22 is horrible.

The AI goalkeeper is Spider-Man that’s 9’ tall. Every shot is blocked by AI defense where your defense moves out of the way of the ball and the AI can score from 40 yds out upper 90. EA tells me this is due to my "internet", which is the same internet that produces absolutely no lag on ANYFifa 22 is legitimately the worst game I've ever played. This game is riddled with bugs both on and offline that makes the game absolutely unplayable. For starters, I cannot play online without ethernet because Fifa gives me a constant 900 ping making the game genuinely unplayable. EA tells me this is due to my "internet", which is the same internet that produces absolutely no lag on ANY other game including Fifa 21. Half of the time I try to play friends offline I can't even do that because of the "ghost controller" issue where a random controller is assigned to a team in which the entire console must be reset in order to fix. This game in no way reflects actual football and is a COMPLETE joke. With an estimated 5.54 billion dollars in revenue in the year 2020, one would think EA would make a game that doesn't absolutely suck, but I guess thats just the EA we know and love! Thank god EA lost the exclusive rights to FIFA because now there is a chance that a real football game can actually be developed. I think if I were to keep talking about the issues in this game I could genuinely hit the 5000 character limit and still have more to say. If you're even thinking about paying for this game, please please PLEASE save yourself the money and the frustration.     It is the same game every year only with smaller changes. Ea has added hypermotion to the game but i can't see the difference between fifa 22 and fifa 21. The modes are boring and the same from fifa 16.
    Fut is a "money printing" machine for ea, but they have changed the colour of the menus.

    Online got some real problems with competition and when i play this game my ps5 do some strange noises. Not to mention that this **** run at about 20 fps on carrer mode and on ut 30. Ea is **** Btw i havent had this kind of problems in the other games thx

    Random bouncy balls are back. Defenders get repelled whenever someone performs a rainbow flick. You can be winning 3-0 comfortably but then the AI screws up for you. None of the passes land to feet. Clearances barely clear the penalty box. EA Sports - It’s in the game more like EA Sports - **** in the game

    Think all players agree its more obvious than ever that RNG determines who wins.

    Keepers will let in or save goals at random and not on the difficulty to save. I got lucky with packs and have a few million coins and I can safely say affordable prem players will probably win you more games.

    The goalkeepers will decide who wins and outfield players will have little to no influence on the game.

    This could not be further from a real game of football, if we except the graphic value of the game, the only reason for which I give a point to it. You would think playing with friends against other people on the Pro Clubs mode would minimise the influence of the AI. But it still finds a way to destroy your/your opponent's game somehow. Sometimes through a full match, sometimes for just a period of time. Through balls in the air are overpowered, AIs completely unbalanced between one team and the other, and the "momentum" shifts completely without any warning, after scoring a goal or two.

    In a good game, controls are meant to be accessible and hard to master, making the gameplay rich and a strong player should most of the time beat an average player, or a bad player. In FIFA, this goes to the bin. The dumber you are, the more likely you are to win games and have the game help you at that. Of course, there is a threshold, and people who triumph in worldwide competitions most likely understood the broken mechanic of the game, and use it to their advantage, but this only proves my point which is that the game is not fun, and those players don't play it for fun anymore.

    There is input lag, again, from time to time, on certain plays, which you can do without any issues in other circumstances, but all of a sudden your player takes an extra touch, or slows down his movement, without being tired. Even so, other tired players (often AI players) find a second wind out of nowhere despite their stamina meter clearly showing they're tired.

    I used to think scripting was a myth in FIFA, because the game was much more balanced, and fun to play. This hasn't been the case for years now. I believe most people would forgive EA even with their marketing campaign, promoting features that already existed in old games of the franchise, before disappearing and being used as newly introduced content to make sure people tune in. That gameplay is unbalanced, biased, chaotic, random, sometimes hand in hand with luck.

    What is worse, is that it has spread in the mind of the dumbest, sweatiest players that you only complain because you're not good at the game. I can hold my hands up high and say without a shadow of shame that I'm not good at this game anymore, because this game sucks. But I don't know if what worries me more is the fact no competitor is offering anything decent to fight EA's monopoly, or the fact so many people seem to believe this is actually a good game.    … Expand

    Terrible game play, unresponsive, defending is worse than 21, penalties are all apparently free kicks from the centre spot according to the voice over/ commentator. Feels rushed and pitch looks fake from some angles in game play. Wish I never paid for the ultimate edition. Feel like my money has been robbed

    EA sports are also incapable of making a good AI in the harder difficulties. On world class, legendary, and ultimate mode, all EA does is adjust gameplay sliders against you rather than making the AI actually play good football. Offline modes are AIDS because of that.

    Online modes there's less gameplay slider manipulation however EA is too poor with their multi-billion dollar revenue every year to invest in more servers. Thus, you can be from North America and play someone from Germany and have severe delay between your controller input and what happens in game.    … Expand

You can argue that FIFA doesn't script matches all you want, but in my first CL game of the season vs Inter Milan (so first CL game for both teams), I was up 1-0, and somehow on the upper left of the screen it said Lautaro Martinez scored 1 goal in 1 CL game (even though as the score line suggests, Inter haven't scored yet), and sure enough in the second half Inter scored an insane Fifa goal where all my defenders avoided Inter's players like the plague allowing Lautaro to score a goal for Inter.    … Expand

    Wow, very dissapointed with this game. After many years I wanted to try a FIFA again. But this game is broken! My whole save game somehow dissapeared. Hours of investing into my team in career mode just gone. This never happened to me in older FIFAs.
    Also simple stuff like that the shirts of the teams dont have the same color seem an issue now. Sometimes you have to restart a game because    Wow, very dissapointed with this game. Loosing 7 - 1 to a team with lower rating with much lower chemistry and inferior players is bad enough, but when you combine that with the fact that the slowest centre halfs become Usain Bolt, the midfielders rated at 76 can dictate a match better than prime Zidane, Strikers become possessed by Lionel Messi, on top of that your team suddenly looks like they'd struggle in the Vanarama North. You don't change the way you play, which can only mean the game does and just decides it's going to win this one and players look like they're ice skating past you. We live in hope that one day there will be a new kid on the block that brings us a good football sim. Unfortunately in order to play football games we are stuck with this car crash. I refused to give EA money anymore for sports games but since it was free I thought I'd try it. My god what a waste of memory. I will likely delete it soon. Graphics wise, it is still an terrible reskin where players look nothing like themselves. You look at the faces of games like Ghost of Tsushima, Elden Ring, even games from years ago like Quantum Break then look at what Fifa gives you. This is lazy. This is garbage. I'm so glad that Fifa have taken away the license from you EA and I hope other game companies show you how its done because you obviously have no idea. It's sad because I grew up with Fifas from Fifa 96 onwards. You have really let yourselves slip and you dishonour the gaming world.… Expand

    a truly horrible and frustrating game...I've played FIFA since 06 and I've just had to stop at 19. I don't understand what possessed them to drastically change the gameplay. Defending is worse...just forget about it in this game because the ball can be passed to a winger and your fullback will not do anything even if you are using the sprint.     Awful developed game... game is made for kids after cheese only. No balance on skill base. They dont care about football, they just care about keep selling the same game every year... at least make it better from one year to another.

    Carreer mode is fun, but yet again the main gamemode (FUT) is unplayable because of the horrible servers. The delay makes it frustrating to play, because it makes you feel like you can't control anything. Wouldn't recommend.

    Une honte ce jeu.... la seule chose qui est mise en avant est le mode fut qui rapporte des millions, voir milliards à E.A. . . Les jeu de foots sont vraiment en à la traine par rapport aux autres types de jeux actuellement.

    This game is terrible. The main problem is the difficulty levels. You have a choice between easy gameplay settings, where you win every game 9-0, and difficult gameplay settings where you lose every game 0-5. There is literally nothing in between.

    The game is just way too easy or way too difficult making playing it a waste of time

    I sold it after about 30 minutes of playing!

    the game is extremely unfair, be it online or local play.

    I don't recommend it to anyone. I will never buy games from ea again.

    I think I'll switch to efootball.

When I was winning the game the game time had expired and the player had goaled. I was absolutely mad and fierce! I will drop a -7 rating review if possible. Every year its the same old crappy game. There is no point playing the games anymore!

I have literally barely entered the tutorial to complete some initial tasks for the coins on FUT mode, and have been matched three consecutive times with players that spent more time on FIFA sendingTHE WORST MATCHMAKING I have ever experienced in my life. I have literally barely entered the tutorial to complete some initial tasks for the coins on FUT mode, and have been matched three consecutive times with players that spent more time on FIFA sending their credit card credentials, than I had the entire series turned on. I have double-checked that it does say, I will be playing against opponents on "my level". I don't mind this pay to win tacticts (it's your game after all) just stop lying and match teams with at least somewhat similar level (mine had 66, first game ever, matched against 95)… Expand

    I’ve been playing football on playstation for more than 10 years. I used to play PES which was great and for the last couple of years decided to give fifa a chance. I will put it stright, I find fifa game in general STUPID and UNREALISTIC. The only good thing about it is the graphics :)

    I mean there’s no way to state enough how much of a garbage company EA is as well as how **** their fifa games are. Servers are trash, disconnects all the time, buy pressure for the greedy packs. People just stay away from this pile of dogfecies.

    I made an account to tell you to save your money!!!! Fifa is getting worse and worse every year. I may not be the best player out there but if you wanna save a controller or anything don’t buy. Gameplay is completely different. It’s slower and in general it’s bad. But aye it’s fifa that’s why I’m giving it a 2

    FIFA 22 shows its wasted potential every step of the way. When everything works as it should, it’s the best FIFA in years. The problem is that while sometimes the new HyperMotion technology works great and really makes a noticeable difference, the game often picks wrong animations from its mind-boggling array of 8 million. Let’s hope EA Sports builds on these promising foundations, fixes what needs to be fixed and delivers a truly great experience next year. [12/2021, p.36]

    FIFA 22 has improved the feel and smoothness of actions, but there are almost no changes in the game mode and gameplay. The reduction of stand-alone content makes it not very suitable as the first FIFA entry for newcomers.

    FIFA 22 looks amazing on next-gen hardware which was to be expected. What was not to be expected is the brilliant gameplay. It still isn’t a full-blown simulation, of course, but it’s way more tactical and fun than before, including the (in)famous Ultimate Team. The only thing that truly suffers is the neglected Career Mode.
