    This game is the surprise of 2021 for me.

    After being seriously let down by Battlefield and several other AAA titles this year, I thought I'd finally give this series a try. And while the game isn't perfect, it deserves a perfect score in my opinion here's why: -Amazing graphical detail, considering this is a sim game. I would put the machinery models up there with games like Flight    This game is the surprise of 2021 for me.

    After being seriously let down by Battlefield and several other AAA titles this year, I thought I'd finally give this series a try. And while the game isn't perfect, it deserves a perfect score in my opinion here's why:

    -Amazing graphical detail, considering this is a sim game. I would put the machinery models up there with games like Flight Simulator and Gran Turismo. You can see how much work the artists put into these. I don't know a lot about farming equipment but now I have a new appreciation for it.

    -Extremely flexible gameplay settings. This allows you to basically play anything from creative/easy mode, to a fully hardcore experience. One of those games where it seems there's no wrong way to play it.

    -This game has elements of Stardew Valley and Cities Skylines for me. Management is fun, gameplay is satisfying, and it seems like an avalanche of content (especially when you have in-game cash)

    -I've only played on one map so far, but I've checked out all 3 and they are all unique and worth starting a farm on.

    Here are some cons:

    -The game only holds your hand for about 20 minutes. After that you have to figure stuff out (Youtube videos helped me). Here's a tip though...do contracts (avoid harvest contracts, they're bugged) and borrow the equipment. This way, you learn what everything does. It's a trial by fire, but a lot of sim games are.

    -Draw distances for crops are kind weak, especially for PS5. Wish the game would prioritize rendering the crops on the field im working on, so I can see my progress better.

    Overall, this game is way more polished and fun than I was expecting. Highly recommend to anyone who likes Train Sim World, Cities Skylines, Stardew Valley, No Man's Sky, etc    … Expand

    I’ve played FS19 fair bit so I think I’m eligible to compare so here are my pros and cons, easier to read..

    Pros: - Improved graphics - Machines sound much better - Animal and human animations improved - Textures are better - Seasons and production chains are great. - Nice to be able to customise the character.     - Still you can’t properly lift pallets with front loader forks, easier with a Forklift though.
    - Vehicle turn so quick when you are at a certain speed.
    - No third person view

    Overall I’m happy, if this is a sim, you should be able to get terrain physics. Maybe they’ll do that in Season Pass (in pack 2 description says ‘This will drive you crazy! ) I will sure get crazy if I stuck in the mud!    … Expand

    Very good game. Doesn't really get boring because it has collectibles and many other things. It perfectly simulates farming.

    Game is much better then 19. It is definitely made a big step in a good direction with loads of new things to play around with. The graphics also look so much better and there has been allot of attention made in small areas that improve of the overall game.
    Sadly thou like all new games these days there is a few bugs that can be annoying. Like for example at 1 point I changed the time to    Game is much better then 19.     Sadly thou like all new games these days there is a few bugs that can be annoying. Like for example at 1 point I changed the time to 120x to skip the night time and then when I switched back to real time the clock was ticking normally but the sky continued flickering.
    Plus there is a glitch that been in the game since I can remember and yet they still haven't patched it. When you park a vehicle up against a wall or invisible barrier then get out it teleports you through the wall. Things like this really let the game down as it makes the game feel old and stop it from feeling like a AAA title. I know some people mite call this being picky but I don't see why it cant be fixed and maybe it teleport you on the opposite side of the vehicle if something is blocking your way.
    Also the driving could be improved a small amount. Not so much when your driving round fields and stuff but more when you're driving on roads or when you crash. Cars just feel a bit basic like your driving in a lego game or something. Plus if you drive into another car you literally flip round all over the place. You should make it so traffic or parked cars aren't static object and it knocks them backwards. Its a pain when you're towing something and you hit a car with your trailer and it sends you all over the place. I know this is a farming simulator but still you are virtually forced to turn traffic off because when your turning around on your field and hit a car the penalty for it is extreme. Another change is there should be different traffic options like low, medium and high. So far its on or off and when you have it on you hardly ever see cars. You could have a motorway (Auto barn/highway) and you would see 1 car once every 30 seconds.
    Little changes like the ones I have said would make the game feel so much more realistic and overall improve the feel whilst playing it.

    But other then this the farming side of things which is of course where the focus is mainly set in a farming game is amazing. I think it would be better if you had things like tram lines (You could mod 19 for this), or checking crop moisture, or have a chance in your animals to be killed and so on. Maybe not have it so you see the body but maybe drop a notification saying an animal was killed from... Ofcourse have the option to toggle these things in game settings. This would make it far more realistic and be fun to make it more challenging as at the moment literally nothing can go wrong making the game way too easy.    … Expand

    The most underdeveloped game I have ever played. Lots of mechanics not working, game keeps crashing.

    The game is not as good as farming simulator 19.
    The game is bad and complicated to grow crops. The lack of infinite money bugs make it too hard. Also on the video the farmer has shorts, but you can't chose shorts in the game. It also lacks socks. It lacks customization in general. The maps are also bad.
    The hair is also bad on the farmer.

    Farming Simulator features a huge list of vehicles, machines and more, to present farming life as complete as possible. GIANTS succeeds once again with this new part in the franchise. The multiplayer is fun, there is plenty to do, the integration of seasons is a valuable addition and we could go on and on. However, the tutorials could be better for newcomers and the world is a bit dead.

    If you’ve been chomping at the proverbial bit, in preparation for Farming Simulator 22, most likely you are going to be extremely pleased with this outing. It takes the more surface-level mechanics found in prior installments and then builds upon them immensely. While it certainly has its fair share of issues such as terrible AIs and tutorials, which hopefully can be improved through post-release patches, this new level of depth helps drive the franchise well into the PlayStation 5 era. Using this year as a foundation, I can’t wait to see where the series goes in the future.
