This game is great in my opinion. A step up from the 2021.

The new immersion features are great and the graphics are good. I love the shape of the new vehicles also. One of the best things I have noticed is that on this game you can really tell when the tyres are cold, when on an out lap you will struggle and will have to get some heat back into them, a great feature. I like the music

I like the music which now plays in the menu, much better than the same theme over and over. F1 Life is a cool feature, I don’t see the hate for it. It’s nice to have something else you can do and to visit friends places is cool, I wish there was a few more customisation options for the apartment and a few more supercars tho. But it wouldn’t negatively effect an experience and it’s actually a good bit of fun.

Overall this is a really good entry and if your an F1 fan I would recommend this 100%.

New commentators bolster the already strong audio design. Track designs feel great and sprint races offer some variety. Adaptive AI feels good. Extensive accessibility options allow anyone to just jump in and play.

    Bad-
Bugs and glitches happen a lot. F1 Life feels tacked on and meant only for microtransactions (think FUT and MUT). Limited livery and boring character customization. Only one new track was added to the game and that feels cheap. Supercars do not really expand or add upon the already established formula.

    Thoughts-
F1 22 is a great entry point to the series for newcomers with lots of accessibility features and fun racing, albeit in a much more serious environment that demands precision and practice. For veterans, it comes down to whether you’ll enjoy the new handling and suspension, the redesigned cars, the new presentation features, and so on. F1 Life feels inconsequential as a whole, less like a central showcase of this year’s edition and more like a gimmick.

Overall, this year’s edition feels like a pit stop rather than the next big step for Codemasters’ franchise (which could be next year, according to rumors). It’s another good Formula 1 racing title, one that will tide you over in many places and leave you wanting in others.

In general I like the new cars! So the look is great already. The handling is also awesome, you have to be really sensitive on the throttle now in slow speed corners. I am pretty sure it is hard to drive with a controller only. Further I like the new tracks. Finally the replays are working as well in 60fps on the PS5 which wasn`t the case last year. AI seems to make some mistakes now. But further the AI seems a bit broken and it is tough to find the correct level of driving difficulty. Normally I checked in GP mode where I am and transferred this to my career, but this is not valid anymore. When I am close to my teammate in GP mode, he beats me by 0,500 + in career . So this is a bit annoying.
So all in all, sound great, graphic slidely improved, great handling. Besides no huge steps forward.
F1 Life is a gimmic for people who need it, but nothing to the game. I like the Supercars though, something different.

The gameplay is more realistic and difficult but is still enjoyable, also the AI defend and attack better than the previous year. The graphics aren't next gen and the lack of story are the weak points of the game. Also online is an ultra toxic environment. There are some glitches too, specifically in the lobbies.

One thing they did however is "improve" is that both male and female forms of a word are now displayed in the menu instead of the generally used neutral male form so that players of all genders feel equally mentioned. Thanks EA, the game is boring but at least nobody is not mentioned. Those priorities are an absolute joke to me.

The super cars handle terrible and their modes are limited.

Classics F1 cars are still absent for some reason. - No red flags.

Sadly, Spa is not one of the updated tracks.

The rest of the game is mostly a copy-paste job from F1 2021.

And a lot of bugs on release! Conclusion:

There is some solid racing with the AI, but EA is obviously targeting the Tiktok generation, instead of F1 fans with this iteration. I’m not against paid DLC, but as a F1 fan, I’d rather see some classic cars and tracks instead of shoes and rugs.

Another year, another F1, this time with almost no major changes, microtransactions, dysfunctional VR support and ridiculously bad supercars modes and additions. Yeah, the first EA-published Codemasters game had some of their notoriously bad practices inside of it, and even though it is no surprise, it is a sad day, since last year's edition was one of the best F1 experiences ever made.

Codemasters is taking something that was already great and trying to bring it into line with the modern reality of F1. Technically the title moves to incredible levels of quality, but unfortunately the impression is created that FIA's changes in the real life environment have not been translated so successfully to the corresponding digital one.
